  • The first year of marriage is often the hardest, but for Josh Fulgham and Heather Strong, it was catastrophic. Just 11 days after their wedding, Josh was jailed for threatening Heather with a gun. The honeymoon was over, and their marriage vow ‘til death do us part’ took on a grave meaning.

For much of our history man and wife didn’t live together until after the wedding. The first year is the hardest because for the first time people had new roles to play within the family as well as learning to live with a new person and the family dynamics they brought with them. Now a days people live together for years before marriage, so the situation is different.

As soon as we found out, we put our grief aside as a family and did everything in our power to make sure she stayed with us. I found out he was gone over the phone and I immediately hung up and started making phone calls to get her. We ALL wanted her. I hate to judge Heather's family too harshly but how, as a family, could you ever allow those kids to go into state custody after losing both their parents? Perhaps grandma was too old or not healthy enough to raise them but surely there was some family member who could do it. How could you not fight for her kids? I just don't understand it.

Listening to his real final confession made me so angry, and so sad for Heather. It feels like he still had complicated feelings for her which, combined with Emilia's jealousy, drove them do this. I'm just amazed that they thought they'd get away with this! Killers in cases like this are blind to the reality that if you just take a couple steps back and look at the situation, NOONE ELSE would do it! It's basically obvious. The first round of interviews would reveal the custody issue and love triangle, the jealousy. I'm left with so much empathy and sympathy for the families, and especially the children. The audacity of him to weep and wail about his kids becoming wards of the state; HE DID THAT! What did you think was going to happen when you murdered their mom?!?! Just awful. I find it immensely satisfying that neither of them will ever walk free. Very disappointed to hear that later, that brilliant interrogator lost control of his own behavior and became a criminal himself. I wonder what went through HIS mind while he strangled his lover, and whether or not he's still an abusive jerk. Did he learn anything?

Makes no sense to me just call cops first time get them out or yourself out to dv shelter and into ur own apartment later .. it’s really easy to leave especially when not tied down so at this point it’s their choice and they can’t expect us to feel too sorry because we don’t - they can all freely leave nothing hard about walking out or calling cops on someone hurting you
