- Police rushed to the home of a Georgia family after a woman called 911 and said her children were trying to kill her. When law enforcement arrived, Yvonne and Zachary Ervin were greatly injured inside their home which was full of blood and broken furniture. It appeared the home's gas line was tampered with in an attempt to blow up the residence. Yvonne told police her sons, Christopher and Cameron, had drugged them and attacked them. The brothers were immediately arrested when officers arrived - one was found in the bathroom and the other outside the home. When Christopher and Cameron Ervin were brought to be interrogated, things began to take a turn as one of them began confessing to every detail while the other stuck to the cover-up story. I feel SO fortunate, I was adopted and raised by two people who loved me, gave me all the attention I needed and never abused me. I'm 58 and my Dad lived until he was 89,.. Mom is 92 and healthy still. When I see things like this, I think to myself... "I won my lottery Years ago"...
I can totally relate to you. I too was adopted at 22mos, my parents are the best people in the world. My father just died this last November, he too was 89. My mother just turned 89 last month and me and my siblings do everything we can do to be there for her. I love how you said you already won the lottery years ago. That's the perfect way to describe it.

You are so lucky, I’m jealous. I grew up with a drug addicted alcoholic mother, no father. At 13 my mom had brain cancer and surgery. What I ended up with was a crazy person I didn’t recognize. Basically, I parented myself all my life. Of course I ended up an addict myself until I got clean. When I had my own children I decided I would do the exact opposite of everything my mom did. My 3 boys are adults now and they’re all wonderful young men. Knowing what I know now I cannot understand why my mother didn’t love and cherish me like I love and cherish my kids. They are my everything. Why couldn’t I be my mom’s everything? Sad, huh.

I left my home on the day of my 18th birthday. 9 years have passed, mostly no contact with my parents. Things got physical many times at home, and my mental state was so broken. Only in the last year or two have I truely recovered who I am.
There is no excuse for what these boys have done. But it is a crying shame what terrible parenting can do to children.

Oohhh my this is so tragic, raise and teach your children, give them the space to grow and make decisions without judgement, guide them to make the best d visions for the individual child. They could not once come to the mom and say anything about the way they feel. I stopped watching after listening to the 911 call serious trigger warning ....I decided to continue to watch...no excuse for this horrific tragedy... This is the only way they saw fit? This means the parents did not connect at all with the sons 😳 Understanding that the relationship should evolve as the kids grow.. listening showing understanding and compassion to life's challenges is imperative. Simply showing unconditional love as our children grow and make decisions we may not agree with❤️🙏🏾❤️

The older brother didn’t even have a story, he told about their lives and when they asked what happened he said things like idk like the spot on his eye. It was like he was covering something which was the younger brother. They both said the older one was the one to always save him. That was the younger brother doing hence he said his temper was bad. He told the story exactly how it happened. The older brother was going all around the world.

In this case, though, they (the brothers) may have done themselves a favor by talking and emoting spontaneously w/o an attorney. And I'm not saying this is often a good idea. But I think their parents' subsequent empathy helped mitigate the sentencing and perhaps have an impact on parole date.

My dad was a bully. I left home aged 17, paid my way through Uni at 26yrs old. I am perplexed. Not all of us were blessed with decent parents, but hell, get on with it and make good in your life, for yourself.
Problem is that some kids think ALL other kids got it better and feel like they should have what those kids allegedly got. Further thinking that mom and dad are the ones that should be giving it to them. I had no family support when I went away to college at age 17. But I never returned home to live, I visited every so often. Even when things were difficult, I didn't call home asking for anything. 37 years later I am very proud of making a pretty descent life for myself and not relying on my family to put me over. Some things ya just can't dmn do!

Working 80 hours bi weekly at a full time job making minimum wage back then could not buy you a house in any community. If it could , I will get my popcorn and wait for you to give me that story. A mobile home is what it MIGHT get, and a mobile home is a declining automotive asset. Today the minimum wage is 7.25, in some places, 8.25 in others, with it supposedly being 15$ by 2025 or sumthin. Same buying power as in 1987. Today, you MIGHT be able to buy a mobile home. The point I'm trying to make, no matter how much people believe that outside forces have prevented them from doing whatever, no problems are going to be solved by bichn at anyone. I only made the statement of I had to work just like the original poster of the comment. nobody helped me, nobody offered either. It didn't help me to be bichn about they should have. I struggled a lot. There were just as many people back then unable to buy homes as there are now.

They were good, hardworking, and smart kids with hardworking invested parents who cared enough to see them succeed in life. However, the pressure they placed on them to do this was too much that they just snapped. That does happen unfortunately when some kids feel too pressured.. That's what they do, build a case to use against and charge the suspects. They should've never spoke to the detectives though without an attorney.
When I saw the caption and the picture of the brothers, I thought what heartless monsters to try to kill their parents. But, after listening to both brothers, this was a tragedy not completely of their own making. I dont agree with their actions and I thank God both parents survived and forgave them. I hope they can also forgive themselves (every family member). May we all learn from this. Children have a right to live their own lives. As long as they're happy, let them choose their future. I hope both of these men get to enjoy some happiness when they get paroled. A miracle happened here inspite of everything. A family was united. ❤🙏🏽

We are hearing one side of a story. Too easy to criticise parents without all of the facts. Either way, it wasn't physical or SA. If you think your parents emotionally abuse you, then you move out and make your own way. You don't kill them for money, because that negates any argument that you may have.

Their lives are not ruined. They got 10 years. And I absolutely blame the parents. The father is definitely a narcissist. My mother acts just like this. She will put on a mask and pretend she is a innocent woman of God. Yet would abuse my brother and I mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. The father was trying to force them to do things that were not in there hearts desire. They had other plans and dreams. Them both as parents are supposed to support them no matter what. @simonecherry He grew up in a no nonsense upper middle class black American household that was pushing them to work hard for it. The younger generation is soft they get too many outside influences. My parents always told me if I don't like the rules get your own place make your own rules. If I raised my hand to them they have the right to take me out of this world. Boys have differences with their fathers understood. When he attacked his mother I lost it just listening. I know the Bible speaks about forgiveness but under the Law them kids would of been stoned to death. I wouldn't trust them. When they come home they had 15 years to plot a new plan. True, but after 18, the primary person responsible for taking care of you is you, and anything your parents provide is a extra and a gift, not something you are owed for life. If you have good parents, great, and if your parents are awful, over 18 you now now get to go make your own way in the world and set your own rules.
Not always, but often staying home just traps adult “kids” in a kind of perpetual adolescence, where they unnaturally think they should still have the “low demand, low responsibility, parents pay my bills” life of a 13-year-old indefinitely, and get angry if denied this. Those who feel owed continual care as adults can sit home wallowing in decades old grudges against the aging parents and blaming parents for their own failures and frustration, which can lead to violence.
I disagree. Once you are an adult your are responsible for your own actions, including your finances. Your parents have completed their job. Parents are not life long hostages to their grown up children's decision making.

I blame the MOTHER for not being a mother, and I blame the FATHER for not RECOGNIZING what was going on in HIS home.
I don't believe either story: i don't believe the mama, nor the two sons, especially not the eldest son because HE HAD BEEN OUT OF THE HOME FOR YEARS AND THE ONLY THING HE SAID BAD ABOUT HIS MOTHER WAS THAT SHE DIDN'T HAVE TIME FOR THEM - plus he was found in the bathroom upstairs KNOCKED unconscIous by a GUN, the mother was ALREADY BEATEN but didn't sound like it (no CRIES, no PANTING, NOTHING), the FATHER and the younger son in the garage (I assume the father TRIED to escape). I think that the MOTHER gave the gun to the YOUNGER SON, told him to go kill his father BEFORE he could get away, he LOST the gun by knocking out the eldest brother (Where was the GUN found by the police ???), then grabbed a KNIFE (maybe he was CHARGED by the father, then the father ran to the garage to get away ???), PLUS, WHY DID THEY WAIT ALLLLLL NIGHT ????????
At any rate, according to the police, the father was in the GARAGE stabbed several times, and one of the sons was also there in the garage with the father, and the second son was ON THE FLOOR UP STAIRS KNOCKED OUT BY A GUN (not the weapon used to kill ANYONE - was the gun even LOADED???) ? And why was the mama so COOL, CALM, & COLLECTED on that call and giving a READY MADE MOTIVE and POSSIBLE MURDER WEAPON to the police (like, if they were trying to kill BOTH parents, then why not just SHOOT HER FIRST, and why was the eldest unconcious by a hit with the very gun SHE said would be used to kill her husband ???)???
I think that the YOUNGEST SON was told to kill his own FATHER, the eldest brother found out and TRIED TO STOP HIM but got HIT OVER THE HEAD WITH THE GUN (was he hit in a spot that knocks a man unconscious ???). The gun was somehow lost or USELESS with NO BULLETS (by this time the father is awake and trying to escape!). Then the 17 year old was charged by the father, or the 17 year old grabbed a knife from the kitchen and ran after the father, and then proceeded to stabbing his father. I would like to know WHERE DID THE STABBING take place in the home (the garage, or did it START some place else?).
The other thing I would like to know is was the mother having an affair of ANY kind, and if she had ever showed SIGNS OF PHYSICAL ABUSE, or ever COMPLAINED TO FRIENDS/FAMILY ABOUT MENTAL/EMOTIONAL ABUSE, or simply COMPLAINED about her husband AT ALL. Plus, WHY DID SHE PUT DOWN THE PHONE (like it was a SECRET), only to tell her SON(s) that she had CALLED THE POLICE ??? Did she tell BOTH sons or just ONE son that she had called the police ? and if she told BOTH sons, then from the time she made the call, until the police arrived, when was the ELDEST SON KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS ??? ******************Naw, I think that THE MOTHER used that time to tell her children that THEY needed to take the BLAME because of their AGE ! I don't know, but her story about the GUN just doesn't make ANY sense, because why didn't she mention the one son KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS ??? Plus, SHE said that BOTH SONS went DOWNSTAIRS after their FATHER, but that wasn't true, that was a LIE !

They mentally abused them, they didn’t do what their parents wanted them to do - play football, go to a particular college, not be in the band - and by the boys doing what they wanted, the neglect, the coldness and unwanted feelings came into their lives. It’s sad when your parents make you feel like that; I know how that feels. I never done it said anything about it, but it does hurt. Mom seems like she was a silent partner because the dad was overbearing and if things didn’t go his way - they all caught hell. I hate the boys made a decision to do that; but everyone has a breaking point and they’d gotten to it.
I hope the family can mend their relationship and possibly start over. 🙏🏽prayers for them.

At 17 I graduated from high school, left the state for college and just never went back to live. I had no family support and after my parents tried to claim me on their taxes I threatened to sue them (for lack of support). I moved on with my life without them.

I stand 6'5" and was a physically in top shape muscular guy, but the thought of putting my hands on my parents never, not one time crossed my mind. I couldn't stand my Dad at one point, but all i did was get out of his house and i joined the military. My Dad is only 6 feet tall and nowhere near as muscular as me, but still i couldn't even bring myself to putting my hands on my parents. When they get on my nerves, i just get away from them.

im 23 my mom beat me as a kid just for rolling my eyes, tone in my answers/ voice. my dad wasnt around only when shed call him to yell at me or to threaten to come over and discipline me. he came once, i hid, he never hit me. For all of those sympathizing with these men, you should be aware that when this story first occured, a relative described them as getting everything they wanted. The oldest son went to 3 colleges in 3 years then enlisted in the Airforce but dropped out of basic training. The oldest son was trying to garner sympathy with the detective who immediately picked up on the motive when he described his other friends having trust funds and driving Maseratis. The full extent of what occured was not relayed. Both could have left at anytime especially the oldest. There are two sides to every story and the fact that both parents forgave their sons is a testament to their love.
That's what I am saying. There are a lot of people that have been severely abused mentally and physically and they don't try to kill their parents or others. Yeah the parents could of been a-holes but it doesn't seem like they were abused lets be for real.

I hated my dad growing up! He was extremely abusive mentally and emotionally. My siblings and I would joke about pushing him down the stairs after he is old and in a wheel chair bc we couldn't do anything about it then. THANK GOD WE NEVER DID ANYTHING bc my dad is the biggest teddy bear now and we all love him very much. He has changed so much over the years and I regret ever feeling that way about him.

Why are you assuming he never did? He clearly says at mark 19:00 both brothers were meant to be out of the house for the Navy and the youngest, soonest he graduated. He seems very protective of his younger brother - he keeps saying “we did this … we did that”, while the younger brother takes full responsibility, saying “I stabbed my father … I poured gas all over the house” , suggesting the older is covering for him. How do you know he never left because he didn’t want to leave his younger brother with his parents? He clearly says at the start of the interview, his father had started physically abusing his younger brother - slapping him etc. - and, in the interview with the younger brother, the younger brother says the older was constantly in the habit of breaking them apart when physical fights between the two of them escalated. Didn’t the older brother say, at the start of the interview, the younger brother fled home for weeks after a physical altercation with his father?
Did we watch the same interview? We shouldn’t always draw conclusions so rapidly and be quick to condemn people because we will never know the complete truth of what happened, only the people who were actually there. I’m inclined to believe these parents are not at all innocent also and created an emotionally toxic home for their children.

I may have an unpopular point of view about the "motive". What I am seeing are two boys in a state of disassociation (the older one more so than the younger) after years of weaponized silence & transactional love by their parents. What happened that night, was the culmination of years of psychological torture in the heads of those two boys triggered by the father's assault on the younger brother, which was seen as as the final straw in this lifelong injustice, giving way to their darker instincts in the human psychology that sought retribution against their "parents" for being their " their abusers". Although, I may not be able to comprehend ever hurting my parents (I love them dearly), I also know that there are plenty of household where children are regularly humiliated (silent treatment, mockery, induced in-sibling rivalries etc.) if the child fails to meet a standard that purely benefits the parent. Often, the reward for following the parent's wishes, is the parent's "Love" (ie - Their father: Play football & in exchange, I will "Love" you). For ANY human being who grew up in a household like this, this is deeply hurtful. Although not physical, it IS A VIOLENT ACT against the sanctity of a child's innocence. Over time, as the child grows up, this wound does not go away until the parent outweighs the damage by celebrating their child's self worth outside of their parent's wishes-- while in full receipt of the parent's unconditional Love & adoration. As a society, we may assign the criteria of a "parent" to these boy's mother/father, but the brother using lyrics of a song to describe how he felt, & the older bother's recollection of life events with stifled breakdowns, leads me to believe that communication (or, lack thereof) was weaponized in that home. As social creatures, It is through frequent communication with the parent, that the child internalizes ideas about themselves through what their parents or primary caretakers, are telling them. Words signify ideas that provide the child a framework to decipher their parent's wishes, motivations, & to assure themselves that -- in fact -- they are loved just because they exist. Sounds like these parents were poor communicators, & accross 17 (younger brother) & 22 (Older brother) of existance without proper communication, those boys were left to come up with their own framework to decipher how to appease their parents, who appeared to only care if the boys obeyed. If you can draw parellels to circumstances in human history, where subjects are hungry for fundamental resources (food, shelter, water) they will engage in acts of violence against their tyrant (not, always, but frequently enough). In like fashion, a child who has come to the conclusion (I say "child" since childhood wounds accompany you no matter how older you get) that their parents are witholding love to torture them for not making them happy, may enter a state of absolute rage, since there was no reason the parent should have witheld such a fundamental resource that was needed for their development.

I believe these parents are far well off than a lot of parents in Africa. Yet there's thousands and thousands of university graduates coming from Africa to UK and America. I know the younger one and when this happened SHOCKED wasn’t a good enough descriptor for how I felt. He had always presented himself as a cordial and polite young man. Not all crimes are the same.Of course these young men should be in prison. That doesnt take sway from the sadness of so much wasted potential
This is why I'm a proud Foster Child...I wasn't spoiled but Was cared for, I didn't feel privileged I felt blessed, we didn't have the best but we had Love and a Real Family who taught us that shit don't always go your way....but never give up and let God do the Rest.

My Mum kicked me out at 14 for 6 months. I lived with my brothers girlfriend and had absolutely nothing. Then kicked out again just before I was 16 I never did drugs had boyfriends or behaved badly just the odd backchat and truancy (nothing major i was a pretty good kid) My parents worked I grew up around people with money, My parents owned their house had their own cars and life insurance. I held anger and a grudge but I got on with it. I lived a troubled life for a while in and out of employment, bad realtionships, had a child at 18 and lived turbulent life... I am now 40 with 3 very amazing succesful children, im succesful in my work and home life and have a great relationship with my mum. The sympathy everyone feels is misplaced IMO. No amount of excuses, excuses murder. Mental health problems anger and resentment yes, murder NO! We can all say we were wronged treated badly but it doesnt excuse trying to murder the person that wronged you somehow.

I was in boot camp with them, and they got discharged during boot camp at the same time. for them to be discharged without an injury and at the same exact time means they were discharged for behavioral issues
? Ain't got nothing to do with anything. Tons of military and cops have behavior issues that doesn't lead to anywhere. People like you would try to bring up any negative event. Every human can snap even those that never showed behavior issues
One thing people have to learn is that cops are not your friends.
