I learned a few more useful things about my Fit. UPDATE: I noticed I was only getting room temp air so your video helped me trouble-shoot. I swapped out the AC relay with the horn relay and it worked! Thanks for the tips.
Thanks, My Fit's A/C delays coming on but when it does it is plenty cold. I suspect a relay problem. Your video is a big help in my troubleshooting process.
Just wanted to say thanks for this video. I have a 2008 honda fit that the ac started taking a while to turn on. I was able to determine last year the compressor wasn't getting 12v to turn on till after the car had been on for a while. This gives me a couple or more things to check. Thanks
Thank you for the video. Mine only turns on when I do the jumping relay method but when i jump and compressor turns on, it the engine feels like it’s stalling. Does that point to refrigerant level being low? Or a toasted compressor?
My 2008 Fit AC works just like normal when it first started and when the outside temp is normal. However, when it is hot outside (Over 90F) AC will stop working. High speed on Freeway, AC can keep running. Thoughts? Thank you!
Hey Lehew, I love your Honda videos, my Fit has new AC and dryer in 08-2023. Last week my fans stopped, but when I flip the lever from fresh air/recirculate air, sometimes the fan will start...but not always. Checked my 7.5 fuses and also performed continuity tests on the 3 relays under the hood next to the battery. Everything checks out fine. What else does it sound like?? Sincerely, BP
Please help! My relay is not getting power through it when testing. The clutch freely engages, no fuses are blown, condenser is fine, however I get no clutch engagement with super elevated low end pressure
My AC button on my Honda fit doesn't stay on ON position, if I press it and leave my finger press the compressor will start and blow cold air but as soon I release it y shuts down the compressor.
I have a good one for you, fuse is good both relays are good , jumped the clutch compressor turns on . Checked pressure I’m above 60psi , both rad fans turn on when rad switch kicks on. I’ve tried to bypass the pressure switch still no Ac . I don’t have any engine lights on and checked the Ac switch at the dash and it’s closing when I push it ! Any ideas ?
@@IMRgarage do you know what color wire or wires were the issue? I have the same problem. Both fans kick on, Clutch engages when I jump it at the fuse/rely box. Light comes on as it should. No CEL.
@@andyhoward439 before you go any further , check the thermo procreation thing on the compressor ! Go down to the compressor plug there is 3 wires , 2 red ones check them for continuity ! Turns out in the end my thermo protector is bad . I just soldered the wires together . Check that then if it’s fine I’ll grab the wire colours . I’ll go look them up
@@IMRgarage I was about to test that tonight. I got myself gauges and checked static pressure. All is good there. I ended up just ordering a new compressor from rock auto tonight for $160. I kept finding those thermal protection switches for like $30 and When I jump my compressor it doesn’t sound healthy. So I figured I might as well just swap it out since it comes with a new thermal protector. I’ll keep you updated. Thanks for the response!!
If it's powering an electromagnetic clutch on the compressor drive, might it be that? how much current is it drawing (see how many ohms of resistance is across it, and use Ohm's Law.)
I have a 2008 fit.. ac not working. Start car, warm up,, turn on a.c. and rev to 2500 rpm. With gauges on reads 50 psi low side 50 hi side. Bleed high side down with manifold gauge to 25 observed chage in idle..to lower rpm.. Added 134a through suction line.. observed idle increase.. so either compressor kicked in or there is a switch that changes the rpm due to pressure from adding 135a refrigerant.. Still no AC.
I know this is an older video but….. my 2009 Honda fit sport is having ac issues. My compressor comes on and off causing intermittent ac . Last summer they drained and refilled refrigerant for a whopping $450 bucks. When it does come on it’s ice cold. Yesterday I changed out filthy cabin filter. Still having issues. Sometimes I downshift and it’ll kick on. I’m baffled
@@will_and_rory that is what I am thinking, especially since I heard a belt chirp two days ago. Thanks ….. process of elimination at this point. I love my car but I’ll have to get rid of it if I can’t fix the problem. Definitely hoping it’s not the whole compressor, that’s too expensive for me to replace or repair. The clutch is less I would imagine . Also , I am pretty good at doing things myself as long as I can watch a really descriptive video. Saved me a ton in the past. Thank you for your input, I appreciate it !!!
@@jennfun1974 Hi! Where you able to figure it out? I’m having the same problem. AC compresor kicks in (blows really cold air) and turns off for to many seconds, blowing warm air. Can’t figure this out. Interval between ON and OFF varies, but when compressor ON, it freezes like it should.

Thanks for this video. Fixed my ac problem
Useful tip, bypassing the relay to test it. Thanks

Where you able to troubleshoot your problem? I’m experiencing exactly the same thing. Any help will be really appreciated.
Thanks excellent video,, very informative keep up with your great work 👌

Do you ever figure out what the issue was? I’m having the same issue with my 07 Fit.
Also having this issue on my 08
Thanks for a great video. Will definitely follow your advice but it may not work for me as I get warm air when I turn on the AC.
Thanks. Very informative.

Maybe AC compressor clutch is bad? Could behave differently and slip in response to different RPM/torque Cing from serpentine belt?
