what size fuse do need for it ?
do you have to connect any type wire to the little ground screw?
Awesome vids guys
I would love a canopy setup video as I’m trying to get my 12v setup more organised
So all I really need is an inverter and a portable car battery? I don't want to mess with my actual car battery. Please confirm. Thanks!
Is that not enough wire to be pushing up to 250a . You would assume 000 guage or maybe double the conductors at least ?
The shorter the thinner the wire can be. His battery is right there apparently so it can be small. Try looking at the charts at how thic it would have to be at say 15 ft. Uge would be a good term to use.
@@chrislove1357 still to small needs to be at least 50mm² ...most 3000w inverters give 4x25mm² but it's usually cheap cable and just not up to the task..I used 70mm2 cable at 600mm long on positive and 300mm on negative and get no heat or voltage drop
@@dannyboy3241 4awg cable will handle 250amps up to 4 feet long...
@@dannyboy3241 what size B&S is 70mm sq? Thank you

Where do you get that mounting panel board for side window?
great output wattage .. however I reckon. they need to change the physical size of the unit to a more practical design for where the placement of the unit and the wiring goes. the traditional bulky rectangular design is making it harder to locate into tight spots.
I was curious what battery system you were running in that permanent setup to fully utilize 3000W?
I assume 4/0 OFC power wire and lithium backup batteries. Probably need a H/O alternator too. For 3000w of audio amps some get away with 1/0 or 2/0 cable but inverters have higher duty cycle from what I understand
ETA: that close to the battery 1/0 should be fine
What about your singed eye brows from the arc because you didn’t pre-charge the bank capacitors first 😂😂😂
Video on how to make the mounting board please
Should you always use a circuit breaker between the battery and inverter if using them in a portable setup, as opposed to permanent mounting?
Assume a circuit breaker is always a good idea, but just wondering if NOT using one, even if only for a short-term camping scenario, is a safety concern??
Would appreciated people's thoughts.
Example specs: 138Ah AGM deep-Cycle Battery, 1500W Inverter, 6 AWG cables, 30-300Amp Circuit breaker 12V-24V DC fuse
Cheers
A fuse or a circuit breaker is a must in my opinion. It only takes a small accident, water, a tool or a bad connection and you can start a fire. And if it is a lithium battery even more. Fuses and breakers are cheap insurance.
@@munecito think you need to do more research on lithium batteries!
@@aussiewombat888 hahaha. Yeah. Sure. Lithium is fire proof. Specially batteries with cheap Chinese BMS with bypassed temperature sensor.
@@munecito yep sounds like you know your stuff…. Stay away from 12v mate!
@@aussiewombat888 hahaha. Good one you keyboard warrior. Fuses are now obsolete according to you then.
Just let us know where you may be camping. So we stay away from you.
Video on how you made that box up for the 12v setup please!
It is a kings off the shelf product

My van Altinator is 120 Amps, wouldn't I need to have 250A for this inverter?
what is the Surge capacity of the 3000w? cant find INFO ANYWHERE, Please HELP.
Lol Brendale store for the MT1 Deliveries never installed a fuse for the 3000w when asked and "their" electrician stated yes. BS
If you’re connecting the deep cycle battery to your starter battery, should I use a 250 amp breaker for all my wires in between everything or just between the deep cycle and inverter?
Great video, can I ask, how is that board that you mounted the inverter on mounted there?
Cheers
Love how they say " leave a question in the comments and I'll get back to you", still waiting.......
That much about customer service lol
you can always ring them i suppose. they have an enormous amount of content and i am sure they are flat out answering questions on more current videos. If you are looking at this diy project you can probably work out how to mount a board or get a mat eto help you
Geesus. That’s a bohemeth piece of hardware!
How about some advice connecting the secondary battery to the car's alternator? Coz the set up as shown, will run out of juice before too long!
Hi there,
You can find our 12v masterclass videos here which should give you further information on connecting your secondary battery to the alternator - www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/tips-tricks-tech/complete-guides.html

😅
OK, that’s great but how do I attach it to my car battery?
Hi there,
Unfortunately our inverters are not designed to be used with cranking batteries.
Regards, Courtney
What size battery is recommended to run a 3000w inverter?
3 100ah or 2 200ah, can be done on less but will shorten lifespan of batteries or be unsafe
@hi9580 wish I had known this before I changed out our Inverter in our new caravan. Now I need to sell my 3000w Inverter and buy a 2000w Inverter as we only have a 200ah lithium battery. Was wondering which it wouldn't run a 2000w kettle. Thanks for your info.
@@rickster011000 why dont you just get a other 200ah battery make it 400ah to run the 3000w inverter?
Can I use that to run small heater in the tent when camping?
Thanks
Could anyone please tell me which way the fans blow air through the inverter?
Hi there, The inverters have a negative pressure airflow system which means it pushes the air out of the back of the unit. Kind regards, Rachael
What size was the battery??
Hi there,
We recommend our 300ah lithium battery for our 3000W inverters.
Regards, Courtney
hi, can this setup run a 1.5hp air compressor
Can this inverter run a 240v air compressor?
How the battery gets charged and maintained through cars alternator or what?
Hi there,
The battery will be charged if you have a dual battery setup or a DCDC charger!
Cheers, Courtney
Can alternator handle 3000W?
Hi there,
While it may not run directly off of the alternator it can be a great option to keep the battery topped up while you move, with that said at full output the inverter would be using a bit more than the alternator would generate in general travel, so worthwhile keeping in mind if you want to be using the inverter for an extanded period of time as the conversion to 240v from 12v can use a bit of power.
Regards, Andrew
👌👍
Such a clean set up!
Thats big!!!
What's the price on a set up like this?
Hi there,
Feel free to contact us on social@4wdsupacentre.com.au with a screenshot of this comment so we can further assist with the cost of the setup you were after!
Cheers, Courtney
Can I wire a 300w inverter in parallel to a 3000w inverter?
Why do so? Just use your 3000w for everything. 3000w max power only meant it can handle a load up to 3000. If you plug something that’s 300w only, it will take those 300w from the battery, nothing more.
How do yu recharge the battery
Hey there!
You can charge our batteries through 240v chargers, the cars main battery or with a solar panel!
Cheers, Isabelle
4wd supacentre is no1 🇦🇺👍🙂
I wish they shipped to the U.S.
You need someone, a friend or relative from Sydney to ship it to you.
What’s the minimum battery size required to run this inverter?
Waa about to ask the same question
At 3000w it's drawing 234a ...watts÷volts=amps , you would need multiple agms or a good lithium battery or multiple lithium batteries..you will need to check the discharge rate of the battery and ideally you need 250ah discharge
@@stevo7454 nothing less than 2x200ah if u want good performance
@@dannyboy3241so you need a huge battery and alternator upgrade as well to run 3000W?
Almost worth buying a 3000W portable power bank instead
how about the battery connected to the car's engine?
