I reaply like the orange side blinkers, they really give the car a timeless, "stylistically dirty" touch, like the mole on Marilyn Monroe's face. Shame they don't install them anymore.
Before considering an in-built stereo, I would be looking at a bluetooth speaker. With no sound deadening you're going to spend a fortune getting anything built in to sound passable.
@@JayEmmOnCars you could get at set of bt speakers that can pair up to give you stereo. And you can still remove them if you want to play racing driver :)
Well, Jay, I am intrigued. And very happy for you. The colour, the stance, the whole look of the car is absolutely perfect. It calls to be driven, in every way, as - I hope - a beloved workhorse.
Massive congrats Jay. Truly a once in a lifetime achievement. Colour combo with the wheels works really well. Thanks for this video, a lot of details I didn't know. Enjoy the new motor, look forward to the driving video 🙌🏻

@@BM-di4cuas a collector piece sure but as a car I’d want to drive? 430 Scud all day. I actually passed an F40 in the wild on Father’s Day on the way to my parents. Now THAT was a surprise. Seeing a 918 a few days later was just like “Meh”.
Congratulations Jay: Truly a beautiful choice and definitely mine as well. Love the mid engine view with all that lovely carbon fibre as well as the lower, aggressive stance to point out just a couple of features I love. The colour is gorgeous and it’s music to my ears knowing you’ll be using this car to its fullest and that she’s not just going to be sitting in a collection somewhere. These cars are very special and should be driven as I know we are in full agreement with this point… and on that note my friend… Stay safe, enjoy the view from behind the wheel, and I can’t wait to see you both out in the wild in your upcoming video. Thanks for the excellent content. Cheers from 🇨🇦😎
Funny the 430 Scud was one of my absolute favorite cars mostly because of the racey interior, exhaust note, and weight savings, but now it's totally overshadowed by the F430 in manual.
You snagged a beauty…great colour and what you’ve done with the wheels is great. I just bought a manual silver F430 coupe with carbon buckets and love it and it’s so immersive without auto/paddles. Having been a Porsche man for 20+ years, including 993’s, 997’s, Turbo S etc I’m loving the whole Ferrari experience, it’s addictive. No wonder you bought two!
I drove the first customer sold 360 in the UK and couldn't fit 2 size 91/2 Timberland boots in the footwell! I wasn't keen on the F430 when it first came out as it looked a bit like a lazy update of the 360 but in grey and with the subtle changes yours has definitely has over timed morphed into a thing of beauty. 👍
Thanks for sharing Jay, and let me wish you many many happy fun-filled miles of driving in your stunningly beautiful new toy. Everything about it, the colour, the car's stance, it's wheels, the sumptuous...if a little sparse...interior, and that rear end too, are simply gorgeous.
Thanks a lot for the video! Would it be possible to make a video on the exact difference between CT OFF and CST OFF on the Scud? Great purchase have fun!!
Congratulations. The scud is my halo car. I got a passenger ride in one years ago in my early teen round a circuit in France. Was a silver Rhd with strips Never been in anything close to that cornering speeds since. It blasted pass everything on the circuit f40s enzos the lot. It danced. Best of luck in your ownership. Hard work works 👏💪
From a fellow owner, congrats. The reasons you cited are exactly why I own a Scud. More raw and rare than a Speciale and faster and better looking than a CS. The Goldilocks special variant.
Congratulations, beautiful car! If you do fit a stereo in the future and no longer need the Ferrari badged radio blanking plate, feel free to get in touch, I would be interested in buying that. Cheers Simon.
Wonderful car! Great to see how some graphical changes can completely alter the car. Love the 'sharp' front bumper. Way more modern than the F430. By pointing out all the changes I started appreciating this car a lot!!
Jay - Monster well done on getting one, there are simply outstanding cars. and also, very good post too. I have one, simply awesome edge of seat old school driving. I'm not a millionaire, just love driving.
Who knew that mere moments away, DL would show its careless (read 'cheap') side and produce a less-than-reputable pre-delivery on your 430...the shine was still on when you put this video in the can.
5:02 (nerdy) Fluid dynamics. Oil is no featherweight and if you can minimize the resistance to the flow that is encountered by the oil, it will flow with less effort. That is all the less work for the pumps to do, hence they can vampire less energy out of the engine, plus it flows faster, allowing for faster engine rotation speed (revs).
Id love to have a shot at owning the 430 Scud. Such a beautiful work of art, though i love the F430 front bumper, id see if i can customize that when the day comes.
It's truly lovely jay. Well done mate and congratulations on the purchase. I'm very jealous indeed! A truly once-in-a-lifetime thing that is. Especially as we move into this strange world of generic souless EVs.
I don't know, that radio delete panel on the dash looks unbelievably cool and the music of that engine may be the only radio you'll ever need. Worse case scenario go with a cup shaped blue tooth speaker in a cup holder.
Excellent informative video thks, speaking as someone who has owned all 3 cars for many years, the only one I have left is the F430 Spider, with carbon brakes and carbon seats. You will unfortunately never make a SCUD sound great due to the shorter exhaust system and the CS whilst the best looking is definitely is in need of bigger capacity engine with some torque
I’ve spent a week watching a lot of your videos !!!! Why haven’t you got a job on Top Gear !!! Your knowledge and videos are really really really good !!!!! You should do a video doing a long road trip around Europe that would be epic

How does shortening gear ratios 3 to 6 reduce the 0-60 time vs the f430? I would have assumed 0-60 is just gears 1 and 2 only which have the same ratios. Am I missing something?
Never been a fan of the looks of the 430, till I saw yours. It just looks soooo much better than the cs next to it, not just the colour but the front vents, though the colour does do wonders for it, why would anyone want it in red!?
It’s the one I’d have (those Pistas do look good tho) and the one I bought the brochure for. I’m sure Porsche use wings for all sorts of reasons and iirc Ferrari we’re not allowed for the road cars at that time. Lovely car, great spec.
Just like all of their ‘lightweight’ specials the number one thing they do is pressure their suppliers to lose weight for their components. You can / could easily get to scud weight and below just by specifying most of the lightweight options for the standard car.
You can also easily tell the difference if one is a convertible. The Scuderia was hard top only. It wasn't until the Speciale Aperta that we got a production run special V8.

That clip at the end, its a proper motorsport sound! Sounds exactly how I remember the GT2s. I think the really fast SCTs sound way cooler than DCTs.
