In another show he did the same act, and he had 1 more photo inbetween the 3rd photo and the last in the car(which was not shown by him its just appeared for a second in the video). So i dont know how it is not a multiple outs..

Honestly true. It's such a relatively simple thing, and honestly I don't think I'd have picked up on it if I wasn't a fan of Fool Us, but it's an excellent proof and *completely* sells the trick.
At the end, the final picture removed was always there, along with the card and bus almost out of the picture. but the bus you saw move was a cut out that wrapped around to the back of the album and was pulled by his finger. When he pulled the photo out to hand to Alyson, he pulled the rest of the sliding bus behind the photo album.
Making people disappear from photographs? You must have taken the inspiration from the old Soviet Union... Very nice personality and congratulations on your second fool!
There is a look on Penn's face when when the photo is removed from the album. He seemed genuinely stumped at that moment. I think he knew there were no multiple outs and that it was a free choice. They were tight to give Vitaly the trophy. Great act. Super talent. Wonderful magic.
“I know they spit” is a hilarious thing to be the first to come to mind about American baseball… and you’re very accurate. I’ve rewatched this a few times over the years now and it still alway makes me laugh You know, they likely didn’t leave this up to chance, especially with people like Johnny Thompson and Mike Close helping in rehearsals, but it would’ve been awesome if it was that first card from the first picture. Kinda like P&T’s famous “seance at Steven Spielberg’s house” story, where instead of them doing their carefully planned routine of forcing a picture, Spielberg just grabbed a picture and was like “I want this one!” And by some insane miracle, that was the one they’d planned for the trick. So it was impossible to explain, because it just wouldn’t ever work like that under normal circumstances.
I feel like there was verbal misdirection at 7:24. Penn asked if she could have picked any of the 52 cards. Then, instead of answering yes or no, Vitaly asked Alyson if she had a free choice. Seems like a non-answer, unless I'm overthinking...
Answer of the question is "Yes I had some differents cards in front of me and I had a free choose of some of them". If it was not a one choice in 52 but only one in 4-5, still you need multiple out and that was wat P&T were thinking about at the beginning. So he is actually fully answering to P&T : even if it is not a 1 in 52 choice they don't get the trick.

I think the non-answer was either because there weren't technically 52 cards (because he removed the ones from the album to prevent a mishap), or because in some other way answering directly would reveal too much about the trick, but not actually confirm their theory. The contestant doesn't have to tell P&T how it's done, so he doesn't need to "come clean" about it at the end. If they guess wrong, then he's free to avoid giving additional information (and not just to hide it from them, but the audience too).
@@viktort9490 I don't really think having prepared for a specific subset of cards is "multiple outs" - if the trick was the same, with the same photo, the moving bus, and a different card, that's the same trick. Suppose that the card in the photo is a sticker - the trick could be done with 52 stickers prepared, or only 6 of them, and it's the same trick. I don't think that would be "multiple outs."
30 years ago I saw Copperfield in vegas. He drew a deck of cards on a big sheet of paper and then spun around with the pad. as he spun, the card rose up out of the deck as a drawing. then tore the sheet off the pad. coolest damn thing I had ever seen!! Coincidentally, Penn & Teller played a "bit" on a video having something to do with throwing a camera operator off something really high....
A photo already loaded with a blank card. He turned the book 90 degrees printed the 8 clubs on white blank card in photo already so just a small print the book was a wireless printer or something gimmicked the traffic noise was to disguise the printing process

If this is a force without multiple outs, it's the damnedest force I've ever seen. I have an idea how it could've been done without a force: Every card has a peel-off back with a photo of Mr. Beckman's hand holding the card. He slipped that backing into his right hand and compressed it, so it must be able to uncurl without sticking to itself. Then that photo is pressed onto the existing photo. But it must be thin enough to merge with the other photo and be undetectable, and it must be placed in tight register. How all that is done technically and technologically, I've no idea. But then, I'm impressed when I see a magician "produce" a card, even if I can watch the move from either side, because that kind of dexterity never ceases to amaze me. Most of the work Mr. Beckman appeared to do holding the break after taking back possession of the cards I think was just misdirection. He had the sticker off long before he put the deck back in the box.
Yeah I think multiple outs is referred to as a trick ending in a different way all together, not just which card is shown. It is impossible that 8 wasn't forced and that 8 on a picture cannot be switched for any other card. I personally tought that the rest of the photos will all have that 8.

But he didn't do that (he always ends in the London photo) so they didn't figure it out

Also, it could have been all physical if he forced the card, but his defeated reaction when pen said "ipad" means there was probably some "screen". P&T busted another trick where a woman had a camera and did a "selfie" where the card appeared in the final picture and they dropped hints quick on that.
Very cool. I keep looking for tricks that I can't figure out and obviously ones that get past Penn and Teller too. Most acts on the show are pretty obvious to me how they work. Congrats on your trick. It must be fun to have Penn walk up and shake your hand lol ... he's really the one to beat, no messing around 😎
Well... he obviously knew which card she took. He had them pre arranged and memorized the sequence. Or something like that. Moving the bus might be a technology trick (that transparent layer might be some kind of display) or something else. The teal questions is, how did the card appear on the photo. If I understand correctly, the "multiple outs" rules out more prepared photos. It does not rule out the photo manipulation. I.e. the whole "photoalbum" can be a means to disguise that something... i.e. a thermal printer in the back, heating he paper in the right places to show the hight card. Or Vitaly somehow palming the card and the card is actually a sticker and he somehow transferred it to the picture while showing the old photos. Conclusion - i can think of some methods how it can be done, but they don't seem practical or convincing enough, so it seemd like a magic :)
This is a very good approach.. he definitely knew which card was picked, since they were never shuffled in any way. It would have been the easiest thing in the world to have like 10 pictures of the first 10 cards in the deck in the album and pick the correct page later. So he must have known that this is an obvious guess and made one more tweak in order to fool them. This one twist is definitely kind of a prop and definitely has to do with the back of the album, since it is never revealed and the albums spine is surprisingly thick. So I'd guess he has some sort of buttons in the back of the album where he types in the chosen card and a printer in the spine does the rest for him. It could be thermal as well, but then the deck would have to be arranged in a way, where only black cards could be picked.
Ipad and an index? it was free choise from somewhere near the top of the deck, so the index of photos behind the ipad didn't need to be 52 cards, but it sure as hell didn't contain the first cards in the album.
My only thought is this: when Penn asks if Allyson could only have picked one card, he throws the question over to her instead of answering it himself. Why would she know? Would she be able to spot a card force?
You can easily tell its not a force because he was going one by one through the cards then asked if she wanted to change her mind, she chose not to but she could have. The only way it could be a force is if every card in the deck was the same but then Allison probably would have said something if that was the case.
@@bvitaly That was more than enjoyment. I've watched a ton of magic; I was _unprepared_ for that ending. That was a moment comparable to Dirk Arthur's appearing helicopter, which is the highest praise I can give.
I noticed Allison staring at the back of the picture and reacting as if nothing happened, and noticed he never showed the back of the picture as it went immediately to the table, i sense there was something behind, though it was a great illusion perfectly executed even if you were nervous!
He showed the audience the cards at the bottom of the deck face up, but not the whole deck. Alyson had "free choice" to choose which 8 of clubs she wanted from the top of the deck.
Amazing trick!! You have a cool attitude. My best guess: You know the order of the card so you know what card Allyson picked. And then while showing the photos of you as a kid, pulled the correct photograph out of the many slotted in the photo album. The moving bus was just a distraction, it is a real, printed photograph, one of 49 possibilities.
I feel like Penn did not like this trick, he did not have a smile on his face but then you fooled him so I guess it's not what he thought that made him upset
At 7:20 Teller does not look thrilled either. Teller's face can be so expressive when he likes a trick... this is not that face. I think they get one guess, they guessed incorrectly, but were not overly impressed. The audience however, seemed to enjoy it.
1- He knows the card by "counting", or an outsider assistant. 2- Him, or his outside assistant prints the card wirelessly using a pocket printer inside his "weird looking" photo album 3- Examples for wireless pocket printers: Brother pocketjet6, HP Sprocket,.etc. See at 5.08 he pushes her hand away from the album
@@polythegreat Exactly, that's why it is the random card she chose, I think that he palmed the card when he put the cards in the box (otherwise, why bother putting the cards in the box), then had plenty of time to slide the card into place from the back of the picture book.

But then he would have been busted for denying he had multiple "outs" (that's what P&T figured it was).

You know the order of the card so you know what card Allyson picked.
And then while showing the photos of you as a kid, pulled the correct photograph out of the many slotted in the photo album. The moving bus was just a distraction, it is a real, printed photograph, one of 49 possibilities.
I guess that's something he confirmed, there are no multiple outs involved. So it should be something else.

At 7:20 Teller does not look thrilled either. Teller's face can be so expressive when he likes a trick... this is not that face. I think they get one guess, they guessed incorrectly, but were not overly impressed. The audience however, seemed to enjoy it.

1- He knows the card by "counting", or an outsider assistant.
2- Him, or his outside assistant prints the card wirelessly using a pocket printer inside his "weird looking" photo album
3- Examples for wireless pocket printers: Brother pocketjet6, HP Sprocket,.etc. See at 5.08 he pushes her hand away from the album

@@polythegreat Exactly, that's why it is the random card she chose, I think that he palmed the card when he put the cards in the box (otherwise, why bother putting the cards in the box), then had plenty of time to slide the card into place from the back of the picture book.
Outside assistants are not allowed.
@@BerenddeBoer I believe unseen assistants are allowed, just not an assistant posing as a randomly selected audience member.
