    Wow! a real world feel of the manual shifting is achieved with these mods. Lovely boot and the knob as well that looks outstanding. Great job!

      Thanks! I absolutely enjoy how well the shifter feels with these upgrades.
      I have no need for an expensive "short throw" shifter assembly. These upgrades provide an OEM+ feel. They eliminate the "sloppiness" of worn-out shifter cable bushings and are very affordable.
      I would highly recommend the Acuity shifter bushings and a weighted shift knob. It really makes a world of difference 😁👍.

    Bro, this series is fantastic. about to watch all these. Do you just spend hours researching parts and upgrades?

      I appreciate the positive response! 😁 I have spent countless hours in pursuit of finding mods for the 8th Gen R18.
      There's not a ton of R18 content out there (when compared to the K-series), so I thought I would make a fun R18 build 😁👍

    I skipped portions of the video. The guys at LHT Performance like Royal Purple manual transmission fluid. Will you be upgrading the fluid?

      Currently, I'm still using Honda OEM Manual Transmission Fluid. I am definitely a fan of Royal Purple, though. If I decide to modify my transmission internals in the future, I will definitely use their fluid. 😁👍

    Have you ever lubricated things on the shift path? Cables? Joints? Ect? I would love to find a solid video on what all I should look for.

    • @LevelUpMechanics
      @LevelUpMechanics  2 года назад

      I personally haven't, but that's only because I haven't had the need to do so.
      You really shouldn't need to lubricate shift cables (except maybe where they connect to the shift lever). Shift cables should have a protective sleeve. If a cable starts binding, it's possible that the protective sleeve has failed in some manner (at which point replacement is preferred).
      If you do need to lubricate something though, white lithium grease can usually do the trick (you can find this in a pressurized can at any auto parts store).
      I'll definitely look into the request and see what I can find that might be useful to share 👍.

    Do I need bushings if I’m going to upgrade the shifter? Kind of thinking just upgrade everything I could?

    • @LevelUpMechanics
      @LevelUpMechanics  4 месяца назад

      Acuity Instruments offers an actual shifter upgrade that you may want to look into. I don't think you would need the shifter base bushings when you replace the actual shifter...
      However, you may still want the shifter cable bushings that attach to the transmission 😁👍.

    Hey bud am planning on changing my oem shifter bushings how does the Acuity bushings works on your car?

    • @LevelUpMechanics
      @LevelUpMechanics  Год назад +1

      The combination of the shift cable bushings and the shift base bushings is great 👍. They clean up a lot of the "sloppy" play in the OEM shifter and make the shifts feel crisp and more precise.
      I'd definitely recommend upgrading the shift knob with a weighted option, too. A heavier shift knob helps to make the shifting feel more "effortless."
      I hope this info helps! 😁 👍

    Sorry 😐 What is the purpose of changing the bushings..??

    • @LevelUpMechanics
      @LevelUpMechanics  4 месяца назад +1

      Changing the shift cable bushings and the shifter base bushings helps to eliminate the excessive play / "sloppy" feeling in the shifter when shifting.
      It's really a "night vs. day" difference, as shifting now feels more "crisp" / precise.

      @@LevelUpMechanics Thanks for the detail response - I have a Civic 2010 RHD Non Si. Would also fit correct?

    • @LevelUpMechanics
      @LevelUpMechanics  4 месяца назад +1

      @gabrielalonzo1211 I would think so, yes. However, I would recommend reaching out to Acuity to verify for sure, as I'm not 100% certain.
      I don't know if there are any shifter differences between LHD and RHD.

    • @LevelUpMechanics
      @LevelUpMechanics  Год назад

      When? I'm not sure... I would love to test one out at some point. However, I'm extremely satisfied with the way these upgrades improve the stock shifter. The shifting feels much more presice & crisp with these shifter upgrades.
      Right now, I have a Skunk2 camshaft waiting to be installed, so that's going to be my next big project 😁
