We live in Pahrump and it’s awesome. The people are great and we love all the small businesses. Bought a great house on 1.3 acres, a full casita, 6 total garage bays including an rv garage, pool, trees and grass it’s an oasis. It would probably be worth over a million in Vegas we paid less then 1/2 of that. You can keep Vegas and all of its city BS, traffic and HOA rules. And the dude on the right is full of it. The only time you can drive anywhere less then 15 min away is in the middle of the night. Between the Vegas traffic and construction the roads always suck.
In Cali for 17 years, came to vegas in 1974, he's 65! I love it here in Pahrump! Great doctors, on city water & sewer, right on arguably the best golf course in Nevada, plenty of water, even gas is $.75 per gallon less than vegas.
Cali is a VERY BIG state. Moving from Needles to Pahrump isn't that big of a change. Moving from the city of San Francisco, the snowy Sierra mountains or the beaches of SoCal is a WORLD APART.
Don't downplay my town like this. I grew up on pahrump and its actually pretty safe, plenty of space, there are quite a few parks, the only downside is that there is only one pediatrician in pahrump now but the schools are very accommodating, they're safe and willing to work with parents.
I moved from Vegas to Amargosa Valley a year ago. I was hopeful about Pahrump but was shocked at how shady the businesses are there. Pete's Auto was so dishonest -outright liars and manipulators. Purcell Tires and dentist were also less than honorable. I'll go to Walmart there but that's about it. I actively despise the place!
I was looking to move from Lancaster, CA to Mesquite. My friend moved there. She golf's. I just hear about Phrump. I have to look to see what's available to buy and sell my home here.

I currently live in Sacramento California, I own a home and have been researching moving to Nevada. Nevada seems more “ Retirement” friendly. Pahrump caught my eye, for a few reasons…some of which where mentioned by the 62-year-old. 😊
Thanks to your info in the video, I just bought some land in Pahrump! I landed a 0.2 acre lot right in the middle of Pahrump for $7000 - practically nothing. As a Canadian I had no idea what I was doing, so this video was extremely helpful.

Pahrump as well as Kingman are on borrowed time as far as water is concerned. They have drained the aquifers??? I am going back to the beach, to hell with it here
Moved from CA to Vegas 5 years ago, Vegas is too crowded now and we want land. We love Pahrump! Depends on your lifestyle but I think it’s going to be more and more appealing to people
About 30 years ago I bought a acre and a quarter there for 5000 bucks. On a paved road. Which are very few. I bought it from some doctor that had 40 acre's that he sub decided. I had to dig a well, bring in electricity. Then put a brand new double wide trailer on it. Then put in a septic. I can't remember what it cost me to have the electric, well and septic put in back then. But it wasn't bad. Because I still had some cash left to put a good down payment on the new trailer. My goal was to have enough money left to put a nice down payment on the trailer. So my mortgage payment would be around 500 bucks a month. As it turned out I got my mortgage payment down to 340 bucks a month. So with my utilities and mortgage payment together was only around 500 bucks a month. This was way before any of the box stores got there. All there was was a little market and a ace hardware. I had to work in vegas. So that's about 150 miles round trip. Six days a week. And back then hwy 160 was just one lane each way. And there was no range fencing up yet so wild donkeys and horses were crossing the hwy all the time. There were head on wrecks all the time. It was very dangerous. But having to work in vegas, kicked up my cost of living, dramatically. And then all the driving time, at least a hour each way. It was a huge pain in the pah rump. LoL 😂😆. Then once I started doing business there and meeting all the morons that live there. I got totally disgusted and regretted moving there. Everybody and everything is corrupt. The government the police and every idiot I ever met. I stuck it out for 10 years. And that was to long. Needless to say I don't live there anymore. But I still own the property. Best decision I ever made in that town was leaving and never looking back.. Tweekers and shady shit. I'm pretty sure if you spent enough time out there back when it was just PJ's Supermarket and Ace Hardware then I'm sure you'll be able to identify with the idea of there being a sort of "force field" or invisible barrier around the valley that doesn't allow shame to enter.. There's no shame out there amongst the people who have lived there for more than a decade or even less.. Once you've been identified as a resident of Pahrump you suddenly have no sense of shame and I was super lucky to have only had to live there a year at a time for a few years in the early 90s. If you move to Pahrump, rent someone's house first. Don't buy until you've been in Pahrump at least 1 year. Pahrump is kind of a real estate scam. The unincorporated "town" is very inconvenient for modern life, considering how expensive the investment is to live in Pahrump. very close my friend Very Close!!!
Pahrump is a town, we are not a city. Stay in Vegas and stay out of our town.
Thats right. 👍👍👍
I guess his age at 71.
Honestly I am very surprised how many people own land and homes in Pahrump and have for 20 and 30 years. It’s a great little town to live in and once people get there they don’t leave.
