Hi! This smoothie was the start to my diet to fight cancer. I was only stage one of a non aggressive cancer, thankfully! Once diagnosed, I began paying more attention to what I was eating and how I managed my diet and overall health. These smoothies helped me recover from my surgery and have a new beginning. Since I signed up with you and your recipes, I have had some amazing life changing results. Thank you for all your inspiration!!

Thank you so much! Yes, this Beginner's Luck is delicious. This is particularly great for someone who is just starting to drink green smoothies because it has a pleasant taste, not too sweet and just the right combination and the right choices of veggies and fruit, so a "beginner" is more likely to enjoy green smoothies., because it's so tasty. I sometimes replace mango for pineapple.

3 things I love about this: 1) The timer. No guess-work and very simple! 2) You can place everything inside all at once. Not piecemeal. 3) And finally, the durability. It just looks and sounds solid. Thank you for the opportunity.

This is very small, but I love how you added little tips to help with the smoothie making: like the suggestions for people who don't like bananas (either substituting the banana for avocado or even just cutting down on the banana) and what it does for the recipe (makes it creamier) and also how you can add all ingredients if you have a high powered blender. Those small tips helped!

The key to the green (which I'm obsessed with) is using light fruits like pineapple, mango, peaches and grapes. Once you add berries you lose that gorgeous green color. Yet berries taste so good and have so many great benefits as well- so it just depends on the day. :)

Loved the fact that you used water. Out of pure habit, I always add a nut milk to mine. It makes it creamy, but it looks like with the extra banana, water would do just fine in its place. Great tip to blend the greens and water/ liquid before adding other ingredients. I find that with my blender, this is typically necessary to avoid the greens-clumps!

For years I was trying to put together the best diet possible, what I call optimal nutrition. I got to the whole foods plant based idea in practice, especially the grains and legumes (starch based) diet advocated by Dr. McDougall. But my intuition and body told me that something was missing. Then I found your Smoothies book, or it found me. The essential fresh greens and fruit that are readily consumed in green smoothies! Three things I love best about this regimen: healthy skin (I had much trouble in this regard on the S.A.D. diet), tranquil physical energy and, above all, Clarity of Mind. [I almost went all-caps there.] I have already pre-ordered your new book. Thank you for all that you do to promote health.

I have been making your smoothies for years and I tell everyone how good they are. My famous line is, pretend it isn't green and just taste it!
Great job on your video, it is not easy to do. Everything was easy to follow and visually appealing.

Thanks Jocelyn! That is exactly right!! Usually when I give a smoothie to a child or someone who hasn't tried it I put the smoothie in a different cup so they can't see that it is green. 😂

Hi Jen, I am so glad you continue to share your healthy smoothies to the world. SGS introduced me to green smoothies. I have been with SGS from the beginning. I have enjoyed every healthy recipe that you have shared. I also have your book. Continued BLESSINGS for SGS!!!!

I love this recipe...I tried it many years ago answered used a Magic Bullet at the time. The tip of blending the liquid with the greens was extremely helpful with the magic bullet and the nutribullet. I look forward to the day I have a high powered blender so I can dump and blend all ingredients at once. Thanks for sharing this in video form. I'm a visual learner and watchimg this in action takes out any guesswork!

This smoothie is a great way to add veggies to your diet without really noticing. The blender looks like it makes all the difference. Cheaper blenders just don't get it so smooth. More videos please! It will help me start this smoothie habit.

The Beginner's Luck Smoothie is what got me into green smoothies over 2 years ago! I forgot how much I love it and I'm off to make one for myself now. I love that this Vitamix has a smoothie function. Takes care of the guess work! My favorite part is that you showed your family and how they are a part of this. I'd love to get mine into it too!

We have beginner's luck at least twice a week in our house. It's also the one I make when I introduce new people to the wonderful benefits of having a green smoothie every day. I would love to see more videos. Simple plant based dinners or lunches to take to work would be great! Thanks for showing us how easy and yummy it is to add healthy foods to our daily lives.

I went out and bought a blender and the ingredients and have been drinking these for breakfast everyday since. It's so good!! It's tough for me to eat veggies and this seems to be the next best thing.
My question - should this be a meal replacement? Right now, I've been drinking it as a meal replacement.

    • @SimpleGreenSmoothies
      @SimpleGreenSmoothies  4 года назад

bennybroll, that's awesome! Isn't it great drinking your veggies and not even tasting them? 🙂 You can drink them as meal replacements or snacks. If you drink them in place of a meal, you may want to add a healthy fat + a plant-based protein to keep from feeling hangry. Here's a post that talks about turning your green smoothie into a meal--> simplegreensmoothies.com/tips/green-smoothie-meal-replacement

I loved your video! Beginner’s Luck is my favorite SGS recipe, and I return to it time after time. I think the best part of the video is showing people how easy it is to make a daily green smoothie that will nourish you. If it’s not easy, people won’t do it!

I love that it all blended so smoothly! My blender leaves everything chunky, it is so frustrating! I love making a smoothie frozen pineapple, banana, spinach and walnuts, so good.

This recipe close to the basic 2 (C of greens) +2 (C of fruit) + 2 (C liquid) that is the basis for many of the green smoothies l Iearned from you. Thanks for the reminder about this classic. Everyone I've shared "BL" with ❤️ it too!

Loved it! Your recipes are the best! My favorite part are the explanation of how to substitute ingredients (banana/avocado), and the recommendation of blending your greens first. Sometimes, my lack of imagination gets the best out of me, but thanks God you’re a good reference to go to and get back on track! Thank you for sharing✨

I'm drooling over this recipe! I LOVE that you don't have to pre-blend, then blend again with the Vitamix. I have a low powered blender right now and it has been very hard to get into loving smoothies. The amount of blend time vs result has been frustrating.

I love these simple green smoothies!! I have been making these every morning for my husband, three boys, and grandmother for about 5 years now!! I think it is time to get your recipe book I have been doing the same smoothies for a while. I love that you are starting to do videos, it is always more fun to watch then just read. Your video turned out good, I do think that you will get more comfortable as you do more. I would be very interested in watching a video that I haven't been confident enough to try yet, maybe the warm Butternut Pear or WARM HAZELNUT HOT CHOCOLATE GREEN SMOOTHIE. Can't wait to see more of the videos!!!

I am so excited to have found your website. I just did the 7 day challenge and really liked it . I am really surprised at how easy and tasty the recipes were. I would love to have a Vitamix because everyone raves about them so much.
I started a plant based diet in January and couldn't be happier. Having a good blender seems to be essential for this lifestyle.

I have been making your smoothies ever since I signed up for your 30 day challenge a few years ago. I thought the video was very entertaining and getting tips about substitutions is helpful. Measuring greens is a little difficult so it’s nice to have a visual on the amount.

I like the fact that you can blend all the fruit and veg together in one go, it makes it easier and one won't tend to over blend. I have tried this recipe before, it's one of my best smoothie. I also like the 'fuel your passion' you ended the video with.
