No that argument has no substance since then no business in this world would not get the amount of hatred and anger cops get. There's corruption everywhere but no business gets as much hate as being a cop. No business. Not a single one and its heart wrenching that people are as brainwashed as they are these days it's a whole culture to hate cops people wonder why you find cases of bad cops yet make the job impossible to not get bitter over the people who you protect. You deal with horrendous crimes people gangsters ,drug dealers ,rapists' ,child molesters ,have to visit prisons ,have to deal with Karen's and now even the media and what's basically the ENTIRE WESTERN CULTURE these days. Comments like these make me so mad where the idea of the police at it's core being filth just gets more and more belief, that the evil on thier side is "literally it" and that the disgusting behavior and toxicity of the average western citizen isn't in play in this cycle of anger.

I think you expect perfectness out of a imperfect world. Police are human just like you and me, they bleed red & have rational thought.
I think the problem would be the actual judicial system not the police, we live in a time where literally EVERY single person is accepted.
I’m not sure if you’ve heard this before but “once your a cop, your always a cop.” Same thing applies to the military. What the police & military have in common is that both jobs entail things you don’t want to do. Once spending a portion of your life in that specific field, it’ll change you. So sorry that cops don’t treat our people how you want to be treated:(
PS; I’ve never in my life had a bad interaction with the police. I’m “African American.” & I’ve spoken with police officers in the past that has changed there attitude in accordance with mine. Another funny thing is that my white friend gets stopped by the police more due to the way he presents himself, I guess that’s what happens when you look sketchy!. There are bad cops but if you keep thinking that cops are just a whole other species then good luck finding good policemen.

You mean when you 'see' a viral news stories of abhorrent acts by certian members of certian law enforcement agencies and extrapolate said experiences to fit the length and breadth of said profession because it aligns with your personal bias its 'hard to agree'?
Society by and large ACTS like animals that can only be somewhat dissuaded by the institution of law and order.
Law Enforcement is somewhat like a mirror held up to society. Want to know why the 9 odd thousand LAPD officers are so heavy handed?
Perhaps look at the homicide rate that's at a 15 year high, the 18 million calls logged per annum, about 1.4 million relating to reports of violent crime, with 20 thousand arrests, in an area with a population of just under 4 million people.
About 10 thousand officers...responsible for the safety of 4 million people.
We hold a magnifying glass up to law enforcement that is simply not present in any other arena where public trust is paramount.
For example there is currently something akin to a sexual assault epidemic in the NHS in the UK. A doctor was recently arrested for sexually assaulting a child and internal disciplinary paperwork shows about 3000 reported incidents on staff and patients by staff per annum.
      'Defund them'? Nah.
      Hold them 'accountable'? NAH!.
Yes the police are far from perfect, but neither is society.
We consistently ask them to BE BETTER without taking a bloody look in the mirror.

Never involved in drugs, or any criminal activity. Went to university, got my degree, worked hard, and have earned everything I have honestly. No one would know this in my dealings with the police. Every single encounter I have had with the police while driving or walking in public, is them attempting to run my ID or feel me up, or have me sit on a curb for everyone to see, as if I'm a criminal. An exact conversation between myself and a Anaheim police officer in 2013, while I'm walking home at 8 am in the morning coming from my night shift.
Officer: Have you ever been arrested?
    Me: No
    Officer: You've never been arrested?
    Me: No
    Officer: How old are you?
    Me: 27
Officer: 27 years old and you've never been arrested? Come on?
Now that there are more video cameras, therefore increasing the opportunity of officers being caught on video being arrogant, rude, overstepping and aggressive, as I have been telling my mostly white counterparts, they're the victims, and everyone is being mean to them.

The public image of police has changed because more information (video, etc...) is available for the public to see injustices happen. This is mixed with fear by the media for profit. Both sides have a point. The police need reform. Police need to snitch on police not doing the right thing. However, stressful jobs often breed the type of atmosphere of us against them and the police have a strong fraternity. Police are also necessary and many of them are regular people. The solution is somewhere in the middle and involves total reform with strong accountability, education, training and higher hiring requirements.

When I get pulled over, I often have a smile and speak to them like they are human "hey how are you today!" I'm never in a bad mood because I know that a ticket fine of $300 etc. means nothing to me. Most of the time, from the beginning, they are pissy with me. Angry, frowning, yelling, etc. Once I tell them "sir I love the police, my father has been with you guys for 30+ years." They ask who it is and the attitude completely changes. Not because they are afraid of my dad. But because they then view me as an ok person. This experience is why many don't like police. Maybe if many more would approach with a more pleasant attitude. This would change. (Sorry for long text)

I was pulled over as a teenager and young adult at least 10 times just for DWB (driving while black) and yes I’m black from the south. I love this show but just keep it 💯 the cops have been doing this for a long time treating minorities much differently.

I stopped paying attention when he said "radical left." It's not a political issue, it's a human issue. I'm pretty center-right, myself, and it is obvious to me that cops are not trained in the law, the constitution, or de-escalation. They are taught to fear for their lives because every traffic stop, every citizen is a potentially armed adversary. I just watched a video of a maniac cop throwing an 18-year-old girl to the ground because she took too long to get her license out for him. Why do people hate cops? GTFO.

Cops arent perfect and neither is the public . We can always do better . Recruiting standards absolutely need to change. Police officers are asked to do way to much on a high school diploma and no real training other then to control with force . Police officers are overworked and underpayed . It also doesn't seem like a job you should be doing long term . Way to much stress for a human being to remain healthy mentally and physically under there work conditions. I don't think there is 1 thing you can change that would make a difference. Police officers and the public need to come together and start having conversations . It's only going to get worse if everyone just buckles down and feels like they are being attacked.

So I live in New Jersey (if it matters my political stance is more leaning to the right and a very few conservative values) I have never ever in my 34 years of living had a positive encounter with the police. I wont get into detail about the encounters because no1 cares and most people love to say "dont do anything wrong and you wont have a problem with the police". I have to say the police state police in NJ need to be re trained and taught what exactly they are meant to do. I hate that when i see police even just driving by or walking into a store i get a sense of anger...and no feeling of pride. Also I could be doing NOTHING wrong just driving the speed limit seat belt on legal registered vehicle and license but I'm nervous, and my mom who hasnt commited a crime since ive been alive (34 years) and probably longer...she does nothing but work and take care of her house goes into a full on panic when a cop is just behind her. That is not the way police should make any citizen feel that is just being a member of society. I am not here to talk about racism or anything like that I am a white male, and no I dont have some squeaky clean record, but I have made huge strides in my life to do the right thing the past 10-15 years and still to this day believe it or not cause alot of people wont believe it deal with harrassment from certain state troopers. To me these specific troopers are scum and it hurts me to not have any pride for the state police of my state I live in

There is entirely more evidence that the police under either of the two major parties don't act in the best interest of citizens. The party or side of the aisle is completely irrelevant, both sides enact laws that protect and enable the policies that police must follow, including how they are held accountable, or lack thereof.
