    My only experience that was bad is that a cop pulled me over and accused me of speeding 20 miles over the speed limit in a 40 mile per hour zone. I said, "No, I was not speeding" and told him I was going the exact speed limit. and my mom turned to him and told him the same thing. I asked him how fast I was going and he told me, "he estimated" based upon my car passing other cars.... He wrote me a ticket for $140.... I had my mom appear in court as an eyewitness, the cop wrote on the ticket that he estimated my speed, which by law is not a case for speeding. The state has to have evidence that you were speeding that fast with a radar gun.
    The idiot also got my car model wrong and my license plate number which i pointed out as discrepancies. The judge threw the ticket out which I was relieved as that would only further increase car-insurance.. In terms of your case though, that was wrong... I'm shocked that he person behind the desk told you it was your fault, I'd go back again to someone different on shift, that isn't right... That's a liability for the department if you end up getting hurt, you report it, and they do nothing

    Cops have nothing to do with dealing with crime or anti-social behaviour. At all. There's a very strong relationship between economic inequality and violent crime, drug addiction, robberies, and so on. Having more police on the streets doesn't solve the problem. If you want to deal with these issues properly, sort out the inequality and tackle the root causes. Passing laws that say 'you can't do that' does not change anything whatsoever. Suppose that we decided to tackle these systemic issues by expropriating the bankers on wall street that have systematically plundered the working class in America for the past thirty years. No prizes for guessing who the cops would be lined up in front of to 'serve and protect'.
    Protip: Not the population

      DRON PARKER
      'We have rules that say you can't do this and that so those things don't happen.'
      What I'm saying is that such anti-social behaviour is very often rooted in class division and economic inequality, and that simply saying 'you can't do that' is a very short-sighted way of looking at a complex issue, and overall getting rid of class division is a far better way of dealing with it if you want to cure the disease rather than the symptoms.
      'Cops don't protect government policy on wall street!'
      They enforce laws that the government makes. How is that not serving the government? If you consider the power relations involved, it's pretty easy to tell that if you wanted to expropriate the capitalists on wall street, the cops would be there to protect them.
      For the record, I am not a right-wing libertarian, if that's what you're thinking.

    • @dronparker2190
      @dronparker2190 10 лет назад

      Libertarian Socialist Rants So when you say to expropriate the capitalist from wall street do you mean to physically remove them? I guess if you were going to physically remove people from wall street the cops would be there when you have no right to "expropriate" them from their job. So yeah I guess the cops would be there to stop you from removing them physically. Just as the cops would be at your house if someone was trying to physically remove you with no cause. As a libertarian don't you believe in the free market? An the free market should determine everything? What do cops have to do with the free market? They have no ay in policy the government enacts in to law. Show me an example of a police officer not a federal agent of some sort enforcing any federal law besides some gun issue. Cops rarely enforce any federal laws. They usually deal with state law and local ordinances. They do not get involved with federal government policy that has anything to do with the wall street.

    • @ElectricUnicycleCrew
      @ElectricUnicycleCrew 10 лет назад +2

      'the cops would be there when you have no right to "expropriate" them from their job'
      And the truth shall set you free! See, cops DO protect the wealthy bankers on Wall Street from the rest of the population - the population that have been attacked for the past 30 years with neoliberal ideology.
      I did specify that I don't agree with the free market. As my username indicates, I am a libertarian socialist. Look it up if you are curious.

    • @dronparker2190
      @dronparker2190 10 лет назад

      Libertarian Socialist Rants Well you really cleared up the confusion there! I guess you can't think of any examples of police getting involved in federal laws protecting all the rich people like they are their at their beckon call.

    America has some really terrible cops.

    • @Padatst
      @Padatst 10 лет назад +2

      EVERYWHERE has some really terrible cops. Take, say, Northern Ireland, for example. The Local Police Force (the PSNI) rarely actually solve any crimes or do anything for anyone, for example, my friend was told that he could be helped after a robbery because, even if he could put names to the perpetrators, if he was not in direct contact with them (i.e. had addresses & phone numbers) they could do nothing.
      Yet they still have free access to handguns and, I shit you not, fully automatic H&K G3 Assault rifles for general carry to deal with everyday matters.
      So, it shouldn't come as a surprise that NOBODY likes them. Seriously. People deny that their children are in the PSNI, they are literally the most hated people in existence over here.
      I know you probably don't care about the shitty policing situation in some shithole nobody's heard of, but my point is that terrible cops are NOT limited to just America and Third World/Ex-Communist countries.

    I usually have no problems with cops, they just do their job and if you don't fuck with them, they won't fuck with you. But once I did get a cop called on me because this loser was afraid I was gonna try and beat the crap out of him and when the cop came in I could tell he was intimidated because I'm about 6'3" and he was about 5'11" and I could tell he had short man syndrome hella bad, and he was talking and yelling at me like I just murdered someone. Apparently threatening to kick someone's ass is a felony in California.

    Ok no my mom was driving me to my grandparents, like a very long time ago, and she turned down a hill and went. Like 6-7 miles over the speed limit, and a cop pulled her over gave her a $200 dollar ticket caused of the speed and that she said, "I was going six fucking miles over the god damn speed limit." I'm like why don't you arrest that guy at BK because both me and my mom could smell the weed on him, because you are just wasting your fucking time. This is one of them cities where you shouldn't walk even with a friend in the middle of day, because you could get jumped any minute.

    When I was pregnant with my daughter (I was 16 I might add) my mom would hit me and punch me. (She was a drunk and a druggie then and she has stopped now) but when I called the cops they did nothing. They said if she didn't admit to it then they couldn't do anything. Even though I had a black eye and my mom was drunk. I had to call the cops for the same reason two other times and they said the exact same thing when they came out. Just because I was 16 they said my mom had to tell them she was hitting me. After the third time of them coming out because of abuse they said they would arrest me if I called one more time because of miss use of 911.

    I was apparently trespassing on someones property even though there were no addresses or signs to specify anything. So someone called the cops and they were trying to search my car, detained me and called for a "air sniff" which is a dog that didn't give a fuck to maybe find drugs in my truck. I told them I understand you got called and that i'd leave, but it almost never works that way. Needless to say I had to wait an hour, got my car searched and my stuff thrown around just to find nothing because cops assume i'm a stoner. They usually want to catch you on something for profit but he let me go because there were no signs around and a trail so if it had gone to court, the judge or any lawyers wouldn't take the case. I'm not pro or anti cop, but please leave the law abiding citizens alone.

    I have to take medications to keep my liver from rejecting on me. So I carry them everywhere I go in my back (Like my doctor's told me to do). Anyways long story short, they decided for no real reason to go through my bag, and then try pressing me with drug charges (Despite my name being on the bottles). I tried showing them my school ID stating I am indeed sixteen and the person I claim I am, but nope they kept saying "Lying to a cop will get you more time." and stuff. So finally I just threaten to sue their asses for endangerment of a minor is they go through with it, at that point they had gone through my wallet.

When the kids mother brought him to the cop, the cop made him apologize and shack my hand because his parents conned my mother in to dropping the charges and said they would pay half the dental bill. My mother dropped the charges and the kid wasn't arrested. That is why I hate cops.

    Federal law, if he posses a threat Death or assault, and he is on your property you have a right to disable him but not cause life threatening injures. But at court ( if you go there ) you can tell the judge that you were in a "threatening environment" with witnesses and proof of this man threatening you, you would have no charges. And the man would probably go to jail and/or restraining order.

    Because under my local laws you could make a police report, but there's nothing they can do about it. The only thing you could do would be to file a civil lawsuit for what the guy said.

    Imagine if the Police just miraculously disapeared right now, imagine what happens in the next couple of weeks/months/years..
    Technically there would be no law. Barbarian savages would try to kill you, kill or rape your wife, and seize your property and possessions. Crime would be everywhere, people would be selfish and greedy. Murders would occur every night, and no one would be safe. No one would consider moral values, or consider what they're doing. The streets would be unsafe, and the poor would wander around, looking for someone to rob, and men that would otherwise never think of causing hurt would kill based on hatred, and get away with it, without any form of punishment at all. Police officers enforce the laws that are the very support beams of our society. Without them, we would descend into a hellish anarchy.
    Ever seen the movie Mad max ?
    I know things could be better sometimes, but if we didn't pay taxes for police protection we'd be living in mogadishu-style conditions 24/7.
    Imagine what would wander the streets...murderers..rapists... pedophiles.... i dont have to mention more do i ?

      You are dumb and havn't thought it through. The American workers pay for the cops, and I don't know about you but I've never seen a cop do something good for the community all they do is pull over people who are going to a little bit all over the speed limit trying to get to work on time because if they don't go to work they will get fired and then they can't pay the taxes so what good are cops. Also if the whack jobs in the world would actually go kill rapist and create anarchy then why wouldn't they do it right now. They don't have anything to lose, so were they waiting for. It goes to show that there's a lot less crazy people around normal cities in America and the cities are lot safer now and it's not because of the cops because the cop sit around and do nothing really I've seen them. So I don't know about you but if my life was on the line I wouldn't call 911 I'd pull out a gun to protect myself because that's the only way you actually get shit done. The real american way, can I believe that the cops care too much about us because sometimes they get in your business when you don't want them there and they had no right to be there so that's one more reason why I fucking hate cops.

My dad and his friends go out to try to convince the cops to just let the guy go, they take the guy in their car and call for the tow truck guy to haul the old man's car away, and the tow truck guy also happens to double and the town's septic/plumber man, he goes to hook the truck up to the old man's car and my dad's friends are sitting there getting mad, yelling stuff and my dad yells at the tow truck man, "Hey! You suck shit!" The guy looks down like, "Yeah, I do." The old man got a DUI out of the deal.

    To finally add, this apparently helps your freedom.. Cough cough lets criminals loose. So our freedom is only allowed when criminals also get away? My teacher said a guy who had killed two women emptied his gun into his trash can and the cops didn't search it until the dumpster can put it in the dumpster while they found a gun. Yet even though the trash wasn't mixed yet, they found evidence yet it was still his property despite being emptied into the dumpster. The supreme court is also debating whether cops can check your phone without a warrant. Yeah, as i've said in one video before almost dealing with this subject, we are possibly screwed in the future..

    One time, my best friend and I were walking home and this guy chased us demanding/asking for sex (we were 13 at the time, he was in his 20's-30's) and when we got home, my mom called the police, and they said they would send an officer out. I never once seen the officer they were supposed to send out.
    Another time, an ambulance ran into my my dads bumper when the truck was parked, and the ambulance drove off. My dad called the police and the officer said that there was no dent in the ambulance and denied it happened when my dad saw it run into the truck. Assholes i swear, but sorry I'm like two months late.

    Translation... "My friend is a loser who dates a loser and I associate with losers. A situation got out of hand and instead of being and adult and solving it I ran to the police to try and quell the situation. Police should be the mediators because neither me or my losers friends are rational adults. The police officer listened to my concerns and realized immediately that nothing I was saying was criminal. Because nothing I was saying was criminal and because police are only concerned with criminal matters he squashed my complaint and gave me some reality. Now I hate ALL the police. Did I mention I was a fucking loser."
    This isnt harassment or a genuine threat. The reality is that youd need to show intent. The police would care if you were getting multiple calls in a day. Theyd care if you blocked his number or changed yours and still he was making an effort to stalk you. Just because someone was a big dumb bully and said they would beat you up, DOES NOT mean the police will invest valuable resources into fixing your loser relationships.

    You need to go to the courts bud.. Don't call the police.. I learned that the hard way too. You learned it the easy way, I actually had to sit in Prison for a week, (Yes not jail, Prison) When I called the Police for help because my girlfriend was trying to kill herself, she had a knife in her hand and was cutting herself and trying to lock herself in the bathroom or bedroom so I literally had to break the door down and get the knife out of her hand and make sure she didn't harm herself. When the Police showed up all i asked was for her to be taken to her fathers house safely (She lives right beside train tracks), and to make sure that she was alright. While she was screaming at them and telling them "Fuck You" and I was pleading for them to help make things better.
    What ended up happening was her walking home all by herself while I was loaded into the back of a cruiser and set for prints, kept in a holding cell in jail for 2 days then transferred to Maplehurst correctional facility ( One of the largest prisons in Ontario containing serial killers and rapists ) Until my family could post bond. I was held until my court date for reasons they never gave to me even with an uncountable amount of requests to know. Then when I booked to counter sue, All that was done was that the arresting officers did not show up for the case so my charges were withdrawn and the case was dismissed. I currently have no criminal record, But why should I have to sit in a Prison that smells like piss with killers who actually deserve to be there? All i did was try to help somebody. The police play the most insignificant part in the justice system you could possibly imagine.
    Make your own case against whoever is threatening you, Has nothing to do with the police, they are to scared and stupid to deal with actual problems. They need to see some kid smoking pot to be able to "Serve & Protect" properly. When he has already been brought into an action in court he won't be let out of it until it is resolved. And if you can try to make police as little of a part of your case as you can, Don't bring them up other than the ones in your initial story and call. You don't want to have to deal with them, as sad as that is to have to say.

    Sounds like he was a lazy police officer he didn't want to write a report on this incident however you didn't need a police report because you knew who the suspect was you could've went to the courts and file for a restraining order....however if you really think cops don't do anything I encourage you to go on a ride along it just may probably change your prospective on cops because all of your comments about cops seem to be stereotypes not facts...

    me and my friends were hiding out in an abandoned house for the night, and this house was devoid of ownership, so we weren't breaking any laws by staying there. we weren't even lighting any fires or making a lot of noise.
    now, at around about 5AM we were all asleep except me, and my two gay friends were sharing the same sleeping bag naked (you're welcome for that mental image) and my friends were awoken by the entire fucking front door crashing open and like three cops came in, wielding flashlights and their hands on their baton-holster-thingies.
    when one cop saw the my two gay friends he basically lost his shit and started to shouting that he was disgusted at us and he called us sinful and all that shit. the two others did't intervene, but dragged the ones that weren't already standing to their feet.
    we were told to go outside so the cop that yelled at my two gay friends could search through our bags.
    nothing else happened except when he didn't find anything at illegal all he told us to go home.
    that's it. a shitty story but still a story. you asked for it, so there it is.
