My daddy says stuff like that all the time lol and his brother. But my dad absolutely loves that bunny. She's scared of men so I always feel bad because she runs away from him.
Anew-Wiseman OMG I THOUGHT MY BUNNY WAS THE ONLY ONE WE WILL BE HODING HER AND SHE IS TOTALLY CALM AND THEN WE WILL TAKE HER IN TO THE KITCHEN AND SHE WILL FREAK OUT!😂
maxinator trudel that's amazing, I'm getting a bunny from a breeder and from pictures she was the one being held in their hand so I hope even though I'm another person that she will let me bond with her really soon like yours
"This is an outstanding video. I am 47 years old and I have been a rabbit owner for (approx) 35 years. I consider myself a caring and knowledgeable owner. THIS VIDEO ALONG WITH IT'S ADVICE IS ESSENTIAL VIEWING/LISTENING".
Thank you :) I worked hard on this one haha as I wanted to cover as much as possible! Also I think a lot of people (especially young) tend to look at the rabbit's behaviour and not necessarily why the rabbit is behaving that way so I tried to cover other aspects of the rabbit's life that will help to make a happy bunny! And Ollie, oh my goodness, he is such a ham! No problem taming him hahaha.
Fantastic video! I found that laying on the floor with my Cinnabun when she first came home 2 years ago and reading out loud while I waited for her to come to me helped a lot. She got used to the sound of my voice.
Very good video :) Bonding is kinda easy if you do it right and wait for it. My male bunny toook a few weeks and my female took almost 2 years. Now we can cuddle all together, sometimes they even fall asleep
Strayfox I miss my old bunny so much, I'm crying... I had her for 7 years until a dog I was looking after got upstairs and broke the door and killed her... my baby girl... She loved me so much and cuddled, gave kisses and was literally my only friend... She didn't mind being held... it all happened so fast and now she's gone... my hockey team surprised me with another baby lop bunny only a month after and she was friendly the first few days but then she just started digging at my pants and shirt and nipping, as well as always trying to play and never cuddling or sleeping anywhere near me like the did a few days prior. It makes me regret getting one, I just wish I got more time to meet rabbits at shelters and not be surprised by my team with a pedigree baby bunny. She's cute but nothing else... I just want a friend not a cute viewing toy.. I wish I never got her... I really hope it's just her age and that she will get over her over active behaviour since she's only 6 weeks old... it just makes me hate her when I think about my old rabbit which I try not to but I really think it was far too soon for another rabbit and it breaks my heart. My parents don't know that I cry myself to sleep regretting it... I feel guilty because she's only a little baby bun. I wanna get her a hopefully kinder friend who is a little more like my old bun but my parents would for sure say no as we can't afford it :( I hate it... does anyone know if rabbits tolerate more things when they get a bit older than little babies?
My first bunny wanted nothing to do with me for like the first year after getting him. He just wanted to be left alone but I made sure to lay on the floor with him near his cage for a couple of hours a day (usually more than that) and let him just walk hop around the room with me there. Every once in a while he would come up and sniff me and I would sneak a petting in on him while he wasn't expecting it, lol, but he would immediately run away as soon as I would touch him. Eventually he just got used to me being around him and would start to come check me out here and there but being picked up was always a super task, until he reached around two years old. Now he kisses me all the time when I go say hi to him and will hop on my lap and doesn't mind it at all when I pick him up now (well like 98% of the time). It is just a waiting game with some buns and can take a long time. Other bunnies like my bunny Critter never minded being held or interacting with me since I got him as a 5 week old baby. But I think it could be because of how they were raised also. Snacky (the bun that didn't like to be around or to be picked up) stayed in his pen for most of his first year because he was my sister's bunny and I didn't start caring for him on a regular basis until she got tired of him and stopped paying him any attention. Critter was always with me and slept in the room with me and was not confined to a pen. I would hang out with him any time I was at home and would bring him places with me so he was always used to being with me and traveling (in the car) with me when I would go out for short errands or to go see other family members.I think this amount of time I spent with him while he was growing up for the first year really made him trust me and let him know that not only was I not a threat to him but was his protector, since I would stick up for him whenever I felt he was beginning to feel uncomfortable for any reason and would immediately pick him back up and hold him close and talk to him so he knew he was ok and that nothing would happen to him as long as he was with me. Every bunny is different and they just take lots of time and patience to build a strong bond with. Even the bunny that would never come near me for his first year and change is now more than content to be held by me and even sit shotgun on a blanket in the car as long as I am there with him and I make sure to drive as smooth and carefully as possible so the ride is not scary for them. Good luck with your bunny and PLEASE do not give up on your little one, it just takes time. :)
Foxy Flame my first bun was a difficult bun but I was also inexperienced owner, she was quick to potty train but she never like being pickup, only tolerated my petting but it took a year before the bun really likes me and will lick me non-stop and will jump on my bed and try sneaking kisses on my face...it’s very annoying when you try to sleep and can’t push her away, all I can do is hid under the blanket. Lol. My second bun is extremely easy, he is a huggable version of my first one, he goes limp when I pick him up and will sit on your lap for as long as you want but will poop on your lap if you kept him for too long. Basically I think you got the bun that will likely take a year to get use to your present, also she may never like you to pick him up, just like my first bun, she never like being pickup doesn’t matter what.
I’ve hand raised 2 baby rabbits, and they’re not scared of my dog at all. They’re too comfortable. Now they’re about 6 weeks old. And they are always jumping on my back and running up to me no matter if I have food or not.😂😂😂
I have had my bunny for about a month, I got her when she was two months old, and she absolutely LOVES being picked up. She would rather sit on my chest and sleep in my hoodie pocket than go in her cage. She also loves our beagle. So is she just a weird rabbit because she likes being held? Or is she just really bonded with me? She basically goes everywhere with me when I do chores around the house.
Amelia McDonald Most young rabbits are fairly snuggly but then as they hit that teenager stage will want to be on the ground more and can develop changes in behaviour. This is a good time to have them spayed/neutered as well.
Amelia McDonald no rabbits like being picked up some just show less scared of you look at fast nose twitching and bold eyes that means they are scared or worried. You think your rabbits is not scared because your rabbit is not trying to jump away but they are still scared x
Calm down. The bunny will feel your fear and it will spaz them out bad. Just calm down. It's not a killer bunny but a cute fuzzy little bit of love. It won't kill you with anything but cuteness. Lol
hey my bunny and I are doing great and I don't pick him up or hold him unless I need to. because I've earned his trust he gets up on my bed and lays beside me and even licks my arm. He is so much fun and I am happy I chose a bunny💗
You have no idea how much this video has helped me. I adopted my little bunny Yeti from a pet store and he's incredibly timid and I've really been struggling to even get him out of his cage to play and get some exercise. He hasn't come out at all even after hours of leaving the cage open. I'm definitely going to put to practice what I've learnt from this video. Thank You!
Ok, my bunny is 3 years old and I really really want to bond with her but I just don't know how to, I've watched loads of videos and attempted everything, she takes food out of my hand and everything she just doesn't come up to me at all and runs away from me, she's an outdoor rabbit for reasons which I won't explain because we will be here for hours, and she's not neutered. If your wondering why she's not tamed already it's because I was 10 and there's no excuse for that but she was nearly bonded until her sister died and then just it just never worked out please help
I have rescued two little wild rabbits and I've had them for about a month now and I've been using these techniques and they really work! My bunnies will come up and touch me with their nose and then they will run off and play happily and I do let them free roam and I have them potty trained and it is so wonderful just watching them play! Thank you for your videos
Shannon 222 I am so glad this video has been so helpful to you! It’s an older one now but the info is still relevant and the way I have tamed all of the rabbits who have hopped through our lives over the years. 🥰
If you are getting a baby bunny they can't be fixed until around 6 months of age. In the meantime of course you're going to want to get to know your rabbit! Start out with the taming and bonding, you just might notice some behaviour changes when it reaches sexual maturity which is when you'd want to get it fixed. You should always be spending lots of time with your bunny whether fixed or not but it makes for a much better living arrangement if you have your rabbit fixed along the way. :)
Sounds like you're on the right track. I've had Honey for over 3 years now and she still shys away from me! I just celebrate the small successes and continue at a slow pace.
Best video I've seen and loads of great advice THANKS.. I have a 13 week old rabbit that keeps laying in its poo and wee so how am i supposed to clean the rabbit (with wipes) without picking it up and as you say breaking that bond
Hi Chris! Haha sometimes bunnies can be messy! ESPECIALLY babies! What type of housing are you using? Have you introduced a litter box? Having a designated area to go helps keep the mess in one spot - although good litter box habits may not start until he's older. Keeping the cage nice and clean and providing adequate space will help as well!
The rabbit is 15 week old and I'm following all of the above, I've noticed the litter box only is wet so I think he's going in there but his poo is scattered around the cage, I keep picking the poo up and putting it the box.. Biggest problem now is although 100% tame he just wont come out of his cage, keep trying to persuade him with treats but just seems impossible at the moment
I've been having so much trouble bonding with my rabbits. Thought picking them up would be a 'positive' thing...... didn't help at all. Now I understand them better. Really helpful. Thank you!
Thank you so much. We are thinking of getting a rabbit and your video brings home the point about the delicacies of bringing up a rabbit much better than written articles.
Im so glad you said that , I remember our bunny pepper use to lay on my lap while I sat on the couch watching tv. .. I just got a 12 week old bunny because Im disabled and wanted a companion and I have lots of love to give it. I cannot sit on the floor .
i am super excited!!! as a seven year old, my mom got me a miniloop for my birthday because i stood out, i didnt have many friends, and i loved him, he passed away 2 years ago, he lived for an astonishing 7 years! and im going to a breeder to choose a new one and im just so excited!!!
*The way to their hearts are through their stomachs* Very true. Their hearts are in their stomachs. Like, when they get surgery! Wait... What? She meant food!? Oh..... Very well.
Took one of my rabbits about 2 days to bond with me, lol. But his brother was extremely timid, it has taken 4 years and he finally loves and trusts us, spends most of his time climbing all over my partner. I found hand feeding was the best way. He has a cage but doesn't use it, just sleeps under his favourite chair and free roams. Luckily he is litter trained. Great video.
I love your videos, Intro and YOUR BUNNIES ARE THE CUTEST THING EVER!!! I'm getting bunnies is a couple of weeks and you have such good advises!!!! PLEASE NEVER QUIT RUclips!
How do I get my aggressive lionhead to settle down a bit she was abandoned and abused and neglected she looks at Spike (my other Bunny) kind of as a threat but kind of as a friend.
I found your video very informative. We have raised rabbits over the years but this is my first time for house bunnies. I love it. They are so fun to watch and love. Thanks again.
Buns play I-chase-you-you-chase-me all the time. When your bunny stops chasing, it's your turn to chase. When bunny stops running, it's your turn to run!
Oh gosh thanks Budget bunny! my rabbit got out of her cage and got outside somehow and im so happy i have a good bond with her and im also glad i watched this becouse i sat down and waited till she came!
I have outdoor rabbits because my mom won't let them inside and we don't have room for them because they were given to me by my neighbor who I work for... How do I socialize with them? I have a pen for them to run around in and I will sit in there and hold treats, but it's small and they are far away for their safe place... HELP
My rabbits are both 2 years old and not properly trained how can I get them to respond to their names? (also I need to trim their nails in the summer holidays!)
this video was really useful! all the other videos i’ve watched are super short and say the same thing “it just takes time” “be nice to your rabbit” etc... you actually went into a bit of detail and good advice! thanks heaps :)
My rabbit loves attention in the cage! But whenever I let him out of the cage he seems like a completely different bun. He is terrified of me and doesn't seem very comfortable and extremely skittish around me. I have had him for 8 months now. Is that normal behavior? Any advice please?
Really good of you to make a video like this! How I've done is: always letting my bunny run outside the cage when being home, lying down on the floor and letting her climb me. Being patient in every regard. Simply be loving - that comes across to animals too.
Great video! Adopted two young rescues a couple of months ago. One problem with rescues is that they may already be traumatized, so sometimes you do have to "bunny burrito" them if they need medical help and aren't in the mood to be picked up. But they really do bounce back quickly with lots of sweet words, gentle pets, and healthy treats! And definitely lots of supervised indoor playing and jumping fun! Doesn't take much work other than removing electrical cords. They'll run, bink and jump on their own, but do supervise them.
With my rabbits, I would shake a treat container to get them to the cage and kneel down behind my buns with a leg on each side. The couldn't go away from the door, but I wasn't forcing them in either. I'd show her the treat and move my hand in the cage to show her what I wanted. Sometimes there was a lot of protest and trying to hop over me (blocked with my hands), but eventually she would decide to get in and get her treat. After a while, especially if they get enough run around time, buns will value the treat enough to go in the cage quickly.
Continue- She was terrified of everything, If you think your not getting anywhere with your rabbit trust me sometimes it takes time and a lot of it. I've almost had her a year now and we are still working on her fears. but everyday she keeps getting better and better :D and I enjoy every moment of working with her :)
Thanks for the tips, I'll try that! Right after I watched your video this morning I gave Elsie some floor time. She still hasn't gone back to her cage, which I put on the floor, at least not when I've been around! She's been out for about 4-5 hours. She's really been enjoying it and she even came up to me and was willing to eat a treat. Your video was great! I really enjoy your channel, I get so excited when I see that you have a new video. Thanks again!
My Snow Bunny is doing great. She started owning me about 3 months ago she was around 9 weeks old. She's getting big now. My 3 cats have never hurt her, now she chases them. The youngest one plays with her (or him, not sure!). She lives with me in my room, and is allowed to run in the house, but not unsupervised. I also let her go outside, never forced . She learned on her/his own. She's supervised outside, I sit outside with her. She runs zigzag in the yard, but after 15 min she's ready to come back in on her own. She's just a regular member of the family!
My rabbit, Tawny does not like being held and he will kick me. How do I get him used to being picked up and held? I have tried to tame him for a year now. HELP!
Julia this is because rabbits are natural prey animals, if you wanted a rabbit you should have known that not all are cuddly and like being held. I suggest laying on the floor next to your rabbit so you’re on their level. When you pet them don’t bring your hand directly in front of them because they cannot see it, since their eyes are on the side of their head. Hopefully this’ll work for bonding with your rabbit
Yay thanks budgetbunny this has helped me a lot with bonding with my rabbit Lulu. Just today she let me pick her up and normally she hates being picked up but today she loved it. Thanks
amy moore No I would definitely not feed them chips. Chips are quite salty and not a part of a rabbit's natural diet. Their digestive system's are extremely delicate and anything out of the regular is enough to cause gas or stasis which are very serious in our bunnies. I would stick to healthy veggies as treats instead. Thanks for watching!
Mine does, too. I give her a little piece from time to time. I think as long as it's done in moderation it's okay. She has always been fine, anyway....
***** it's not part of a rabbit's diet. They may enjoy it, but their gastrointestinal tract may not. This can hurt their stomach because it isn't part of their diet. :)
I didnt do any of this but my rabbit Jack got used to me within 2 weeks. Right now hes grooming me and asking for cuddles♡! They key is spending time with your rabbit with every spare time you have♡!
Big Boy Cereal It’s better to use a pen or free roam rather than a cage. Rabbits need lots of space and excercise and cages don’t provide the proper environment for rabbits. I don’t know your situation, but consider switching to a dog pen/ x pen instead. ❤️
mochina rabbits I did not explain myself, I have large cage for my rabbit to go in when needed and of course I spend lots of time with my rabbit. But thank you for the advice. 🤗
Big Boy Cereal Ah ok! That’s good! Sorry if I offended you, I just want to make sure rabbits get the care they deserve. I love your Than-Os pfp by the way 👌 lol. I’m sure you take very good care of your rabbits and they are v adorable 👏👏❤️
Hey c&c grids work, as you've noticed I use them for everything hahaha. The back of our yard dips a bit so the gate has a good space to crawl under. When the bunnies are out I tie grids along the back fence to provide a barrier. Our yard is little so when they play out there I just hang out with them and give them the entire yard but when the piggies come out I use the grids to make a llittle pen for them :) Much cheaper than a run!
Obviously there will be circumstances like grooming and nail clipping when this is unavoidable. It's unrealistic to think that you will never pick up your rabbit but keep in mind that rabbits prefer their feet on the ground. Constantly forcing your rabbit to do something that makes them feel nervous is not going to help your bond. There are lots of other things you can do with your rabbit then holding them such as sitting on the floor and letting them come to you. My rabbits will often hop in to my lap to cuddle or jump on the couch to join us but it's on their terms with their feet on a flat surface. It's not any different then owning something like a large dog - you wouldn't be carrying that around but you can still interact, love, snuggle etc with it!
That is exactly the best thing to do with her :) She needs to know that she's safe and she would explore when she's ready. Ooooh a giant! I'm sure she's lovely! I've always wanted a beautiful big bunny!
Bahaha my sister lives with one of those ;) I think your shed looked lovely. Have you done anything else with it since your tour? Some winters we don't get any snow and then....well it sure reminds you that you're in Canada! And our summers are hot. A few weeks ago we were reaching 48C! I just think our weather is too hot and too cold most of the time. I do like to bring the bunnies outdoors on the right days but they seem few and far between lol. Usually Spring and Fall are the best times.
Thanks! I don't like to tell people where they should house their bunnies but I definitely think having indoor buns helps to strengthen your bond with them. It was good that you had them in the house for that first year as they had that time to form a close bond with you! :) And it's so funny how they all have their own distinct personalities
Thank you for sharing this story with us all! I really believe that time, patience and persistence is the key to winning your bunnies heart - especially if they've come from a previous bad situation. Honey is 3 1/2 now and as you can see, is still very shy from me however I celebrate my successes with her, continue doing what I'm doing and in the meantime she has a great life and a great husbun that she thoroughly enjoys!
No, in fact I would imagine that most people watching this are starting with a baby bunny although you may want to start slowly with the veggies if they're really young. You can try hand feeding bits of herbs at first because those are easier on their tummy and slowly work up to veggies. My bunnies love dill and cilantro!
BudgetBunny There is this bunny at school and i think she likes me because she will come to my hand but when my friend puts her hand towards her she'll lunge or wont lick her hand so this video and other more videos like these has helped me learning more about them and what to do
Thank-you for this awesome video! i went to try it out with my rabbits and i lay down on the floor, then Bella came over to me and started grooming my head just like she does to Brandy (my other rabbit). is this a good sign?
I know that this is an older video but I really like it a lot. We are considering adoptions bunny for out 12 year old. This is really going to help her learn how to bond with it. Thank you so much for creating your videos.
Thank you for the help! I have a wild bunny and she can be really crazy! This helps allot!!! And it is so cute a funny watching your bunnys running every where!
She's a Netherland Dwarf although we believe she isn't pure bred as her sizing is right but some of her characteristics aren't. She's a rescue bun so we'll never know for sure :)
I'm so glad you've found these useful! I've been planning this video for months and trying to think of every possible bit of advice I could give. Poor Charlie :( He's so lucky that he has you to spend the rest of his life with but yes you're going to have to work very slowly with him. Honestly using longer pieces of veg really helped me, especially with Honey as she's so shy. It helps them to feel safer that your hand isn't right in front of them and slowly you can give smaller and smaller bits.
I'm not knocking c and c grids, I use them loads in the house and for the piggies outside but I would like a more solid structure to attach to their shed so I don't need to monitor them and they could hop in and out as they please in the daytime, we get loads of cats in our garden and I don't really trust them around the buns, even though I'm sure my buns would hold their own in a fight XD I might try just blocking off the areas they aren't allowed in while I am out there with them :)
My rabbit is a free-range house rabbit. He's a big boy, though, flopping in at 20+ when full grow because he's a New Zealand white. Our dogs love to play with him, and the older cat doesn't go near him. The kitten loves to play with him too, and he loves cheerios! xD
It's always a good idea to neuter unless health reasons prevent you from doing so! Here is a video I made on all the reasons to spay/neuter your rabbit! :) ruclips.net/video/DSRrqWwCBEs/видео.html
These are amazing tips!!! Def. will help with charlie. Since he was abused/neglected in his old home, he is very nervous. He wont even eat out of my hand but im going to be using all these tips to help get him more comfortable :D
Very good. Our rabbit didn't bond with us until we gave her a bigger hutch. Her original (which she only stayed in at night) was way too small. (I'm appalled at myself now) - once we got her a bigger space that was safe for her she was so much happier and fell in love with us.
Thank you for making a video like this, I wish my friend had seen this before she got her bunny :c She kept her poor bunny in a small hutch on the floor in the back room of her basement, and the only time she interacted with it was when she tried picking it up (Which never worked; he always tried to get away) Eventually the poor thing died of an infection from messy fur most likely caused by a dirty cage a few weeks later :'(
these are such nice tips. I will sent this vid to my niece so she could have a good bond with her rabbit. I sometimes feel that people do not care ar all for their bunnies and they die quicker than they should. I used to have two rabbits, both passed away after the age of 10 so they can get pretty old if cared well for.
Unfortunately rabbits have a stigma of being 'great starter pets' for children that are pushed at pet shops as being easy to care for and requiring minimal space/time/housing/diet etc. Unless people do adequate research and really spend time getting to know their rabbit and giving it lots of space they wouldn't realize just how amazingly intelligent they are, how social and also how delicate their digestive systems are. Rabbits can easily go in to stasis and die within a 24 hour time period - sometimes less! I feel a lot of people are unfortunately unaware of how delicate rabbits can be, could go away for a weekend and sadly come home to a dead rabbit. Improper housing and diet can also contribute to a shorter life span. House rabbits current range is 8-10 years but many are living more around 10-12 - especially as we and vets are understanding their needs more. I have two in the house that are getting close to 8 and I hope to have them for many more years to come! Thanks for watching! :)
When it gets closer to the end of floortime and you see her in more of an open area start blocking things off so the space becomes smaller and it's easier for you to get her. You can also put down some veggies for her to enjoy. Then have a bit of a snuggle with her like I mention in the video and scoop her up. Don't wait for her to be in a spot like behind the dresser before you decide it's time to put her away as then that's going to lead to a chase that she's not going to enjoy!
This one I got is a mix of a Holland with a Lionhead ; he's pretty tame already and he'll eat out of my hand. He kind've wants to touch everything and check out the perimeter. This one was socialized around humans and probably misses his cat-buddies.
OMG so I have finally bonded with my rabbit Essie however to pass time I was watching your channel and a couple of others and she decided to chew the corner of my cellphone. Now we can watch together LOL
After my rabbit chases me there and back through the garden, I start to chase him, but not running, but fast walking, and he loves it, and when I run, he runs by my side haha lol so cute :3
everyone in the comments: "my bunny loves cuddling with me!"

When I had my old bunny my grandpa would joke around and say “So when are we making that bunny stew...?” I would cry because I was in first grade 😂
Even tho this was 2 years ago this made me laugh 😂
My daddy says stuff like that all the time lol and his brother. But my dad absolutely loves that bunny. She's scared of men so I always feel bad because she runs away from him.
yeah my dad literally ate my bunny so...

If I get a Holland lop should I get another one then or down the road, if down the road how long should I wait
BudgetBunny you're vids ar awesome
Fantastic video! I found that laying on the floor with my Cinnabun when she first came home 2 years ago and reading out loud while I waited for her to come to me helped a lot. She got used to the sound of my voice.
It has been over 2 hours, I have been sitting in front of my holland lops cage, they cage today, and this is to get used to me. They are doing amazing
I statred dying when i saw the bunny hopping and running really fast😂😂💀

Watched this half way. 1. Very well done. 2. I'll stick with dogs. To all the rabbit people -bless your patience.
this shit takes so long
I JUST GOT A BUNNY TODAY AS A PRESENT AND IM FREAKING OUT
olivia davies one? im about to get three gonna be real fun😂
Calm down. The bunny will feel your fear and it will spaz them out bad. Just calm down. It's not a killer bunny but a cute fuzzy little bit of love. It won't kill you with anything but cuteness. Lol
same but I think bunnies DO like to be held. Idk
hey my bunny and I are doing great and I don't pick him up or hold him unless I need to. because I've earned his trust he gets up on my bed and lays beside me and even licks my arm. He is so much fun and I am happy I chose a bunny💗
Bunnies shouldn’t be presents as you may not have done any research.
Neutering your rabbit actually helps with this... but ur bunny being outside with all the noises of predators probably scares her.
Try massaging and stroking them as well as making sure they are around you a lot so feel comfortable in your presence
Maybe the rabbit doesn’t trust you because it’s outside. Outside rabbits don’t get enough bond with their owners. Try letting it inside sometimes.
She's probably not scared of you per say, but being outside is very stressful for rabbits, so that's probably why.

@@BudgetBunny Thank you for your response
Chris Thomas potty train your rabbit like how i did
He did it himself 2-3 WK after I posted this so all's good now.. Thanks anyway
Chelsea2cool4u how do we train him he cant tell when he wants to do it plzzz reply deciding to take a bunny
I've been having so much trouble bonding with my rabbits. Thought picking them up would be a 'positive' thing...... didn't help at all. Now I understand them better. Really helpful. Thank you!
crazy cat lady. .
me: more like crazy bunny lady!
Thank you so much. We are thinking of getting a rabbit and your video brings home the point about the delicacies of bringing up a rabbit much better than written articles.
my rabbit loved music mostly on metallica or greenday
wen i put it on je came always out his cage
it was really cute
zacharie geertsema lmao ...
You sound like a bitch
Honey is the most beautiful little lop! This is a fantastic educational video, your buns are very lucky to have you as their human!
I had a bunny and he loved being held and he always licked me too he loved me :)
Jaime Frick my bunny 🐰 will take off his own harness
That's so CUTEEE
Ya not everything in this video is true not all bunnies hate being picked up some love it especially if you held him/her when he/she was young.
*The way to their hearts are through their stomachs*
Very true.
I'm getting my rabbit on Friday and I'm sooooo excited
I got mine yesterday :D
I love your videos, Intro and YOUR BUNNIES ARE THE CUTEST THING EVER!!!
I'm getting bunnies is a couple of weeks and you have such good advises!!!!
PLEASE NEVER QUIT RUclips!
this is gold now when im going to get 7 month old male bunny and im going to test these easy.
Thanks again.
what if the bunny chase's you xD becuz mine dose that to me when he is out running
Erika Chastain If not aggresion, he/she is just playing around 😀
Buns play I-chase-you-you-chase-me all the time. When your bunny stops chasing, it's your turn to chase. When bunny stops running, it's your turn to run!
Erika Chastain same but he runs up to be and tries to bite. . .
Make sure your bunny is castrated
Oh gosh thanks Budget bunny! my rabbit got out of her cage and got outside somehow and im so happy i have a good bond with her and im also glad i watched this becouse i sat down and waited till she came!
I have outdoor rabbits because my mom won't let them inside and we don't have room for them because they were given to me by my neighbor who I work for... How do I socialize with them? I have a pen for them to run around in and I will sit in there and hold treats, but it's small and they are far away for their safe place... HELP
I'm really late but, try getting inside it's play pen and laying down.
I'm so happy that I found your channel. I got a bunny last week and need some ideas to stimulate him and build up trust.
Always spend time with him!
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful! And you're absolutely right - animals can definitely sense love and kindness. :)
Is it possible to tame my old RABBIT
Yes
Just got a bunny last Friday and your older videos have been so helpful!
What kind of rabbits do you have?
Illuminati • mine's a lop bunny. Her ears are so adorable!!!
My cousins has a rabbitry and her bunny ran up to me and started circling me over and over 😍 I was blessed
this was not helping with my rabbit he does not do any of it which sucks
Great video! Adopted two young rescues a couple of months ago. One problem with rescues is that they may already be traumatized, so sometimes you do have to "bunny burrito" them if they need medical help and aren't in the mood to be picked up. But they really do bounce back quickly with lots of sweet words, gentle pets, and healthy treats! And definitely lots of supervised indoor playing and jumping fun! Doesn't take much work other than removing electrical cords. They'll run, bink and jump on their own, but do supervise them.
how do I put him back into his cage? I've got work and school, and he lives in my room.
Six-Zero-Six Defender Of Justice! Pet him until he gets into a small puffy cottonball shape and then pick it up, he’ll know that later ((:
With my rabbits, I would shake a treat container to get them to the cage and kneel down behind my buns with a leg on each side. The couldn't go away from the door, but I wasn't forcing them in either. I'd show her the treat and move my hand in the cage to show her what I wanted. Sometimes there was a lot of protest and trying to hop over me (blocked with my hands), but eventually she would decide to get in and get her treat. After a while, especially if they get enough run around time, buns will value the treat enough to go in the cage quickly.
Continue-
She was terrified of everything, If you think your not getting anywhere with your rabbit trust me sometimes it takes time and a lot of it. I've almost had her a year now and we are still working on her fears. but everyday she keeps getting better and better :D and I enjoy every moment of working with her :)
My rabbit is on my profile picture her name is Delilah
That's a big rabbit
I'd eat you out
Thanks for the tips, I'll try that!
Thanks again!
it took me two days
HELP!
Don't ever pick up your rabbit unless it's fully needed, try laying down on your rabbits level so it's not as scared.
Makensie Draws the same thing happens to me! And when I dont pick him up her just sits there or ignores me
Julia this is because rabbits are natural prey animals, if you wanted a rabbit you should have known that not all are cuddly and like being held.
Thanks
Your vids are the BEST! But one question, should bunnies have tortilla chips? He loves them!
I don't think that's safe...😁
amy moore No I would definitely not feed them chips. Chips are quite salty and not a part of a rabbit's natural diet. Their digestive system's are extremely delicate and anything out of the regular is enough to cause gas or stasis which are very serious in our bunnies. I would stick to healthy veggies as treats instead. Thanks for watching!
BudgetBunny Thank you! :3
If I don't pick up my rabbit he will never go in his cage...
Big Boy Cereal It’s better to use a pen or free roam rather than a cage. Rabbits need lots of space and excercise and cages don’t provide the proper environment for rabbits. I don’t know your situation, but consider switching to a dog pen/ x pen instead. ❤️
Well, unless cages are only for sleeping or if you give them lots and lots of floor time.
mochina rabbits I did not explain myself, I have large cage for my rabbit to go in when needed and of course I spend lots of time with my rabbit.
@@mochinarabbits7630 thank you for being a really good and caring person! 😊💖
Willow looks exactly like my bunny that died last week. They look exactly the same and have similar batters I'm crying 😭😭😭 I'm so sorry
Getting new ones this weekend! Can’t wait!!!!
so I should never pick up my
bunny? that's boring
It's not any different then owning something like a large dog - you wouldn't be carrying that around but you can still interact, love, snuggle etc with it!
okay thank you very much! :)
isnt that just the sma e as with other animals??
Brooke G but its for their good
I’m getting a rabbit very soon and I can’t wait I have done so much research on a rabbit
Oh thank you! They are pretty adorable! :) I try to reply to all questions unless RUclips doesn't notify me that a comment has been posted.
Thank you :) And if you're ready for when please do! They are so enjoyable and there are so many at shelters or in rescues in need of a good home :)
That is exactly the best thing to do with her :) She needs to know that she's safe and she would explore when she's ready. Ooooh a giant! I'm sure she's lovely! I've always wanted a beautiful big bunny!
Awwwww that's the biggest form of affection that your bunny can give you!!! She's telling you that she loves you just like she tells Brandy
We just got a long haired rabbit, we call her Rosina, and this video has been very helpful already.
Thank your for teaching me all about rabbits i took all this info and made it into a book to get my parents to let me get a bunny and it worked!
BudgetBunny There is this bunny at school and i think she likes me because she will come to my hand but when my friend puts her hand towards her she'll lunge or wont lick her hand so this video and other more videos like these has helped me learning more about them and what to do
My bunnies are so loving and sweet now thanks to this video I watch all your video's .
Great and flawless video! I agree with every part of it, because i feel that you speak out of experience.
*Patience* is key.
Thank you. :) It's nice to see that so many people have found it helpful!
This was an excellent video! Very informative, and the buns are so cute!
Thank you for the help! I have a wild bunny and she can be really crazy! This helps allot!!! And it is so cute a funny watching your bunnys running every where!
I picked up my bunny when I first got him, but I haven't for months (he's only 6 months old) and our bond has definitely been improving.
She's a Netherland Dwarf although we believe she isn't pure bred as her sizing is right but some of her characteristics aren't. She's a rescue bun so we'll never know for sure :)
I'm getting 2 rabbits in a couple of weeks I'm really excited and your videos have helped a lot with research x thank you
I'm so glad you've found these useful!
I’ve had my bunny for 5 days and since day 1 he started eating from my hand but still doesn’t like getting pet unless he’s starting to fall asleep
GREAT video! Lots of accurate information for beginners like me! Fantastic!
Thank you for making a video like this, I wish my friend had seen this before she got her bunny :c
She kept her poor bunny in a small hutch on the floor in the back room of her basement, and the only time she interacted with it was when she tried picking it up (Which never worked; he always tried to get away) Eventually the poor thing died of an infection from messy fur most likely caused by a dirty cage a few weeks later :'(
these are such nice tips.
VERY HELPFUL and I learned a lot. Thank you for sharing this with others.
