  • Early morning - Sunrise - is thought to be the best time to practice Tai Chi. For beginners, this can be a challenge. Why am I getting up so early? But if you can catch the light just right - like in this session - it's all worth it. Join in with this meditation in motion - it's perfect for beginners, because all you have to do is do what you see.

@David-Dorian Ross Hello. I'm new to Tai Chi, but I wanted to learn it to improve my balance and overall well being. I also figured it would help me with my anxiety as well. I thoroughly enjoyed doing your 20 minute sunrise practice on RUclips. The movements are still a little confusing, but I'm working on it. I still do yoga, which I really like, but Tai Chi sounds like a good supplement to that. 😊🙏

I've been using this video off and on to add to my exercise program...which is limited. One of my cats, an attention monger who is a bit overweight, hears the music and immediately runs over to me. He knows the song and when I twist to the sides jumps on the table to make sure he gets a pet. He also knows when to jump down and sit between my legs when the exercise calls for reaching down. Not only do I get exercise, but fat boy does too. Good video.

music is like a fragrance.................... it is personal, and subjective.................... The class is fluid, and calming, and if you mute the sound, you can add your own music to match your style. Thanks David, this was my very first Tai Chi Class. It was a lovely introduction. Love from Western Canada.

Very nice, i actually got a good workout for this. My suggestion would be if you could use 2 cameras from different angels. because at some moments it's kind of hard to see what position you are in. for example at 12:48 i can't see if you bend your upper body or if it stays straight. And at other times you change the position but we can't see you feet, so i didn't know if i should keep them or move them to a new position.

Alright, I tried. I really tried. I loved the movements in this video. But the music.... I could not get into the rhythm of the movements with the coffee table jazz playing in the background. I love your teaching style and the pace. It's amazing on both accounts. I only ask that the music match that.

Love this workout! It's a great way to start the day and just makes me feel good! As a beginner, this workout was a little challenging at first, but it kept me interested in wanting to master it, and it gave me the confidence that I could actually do tai chi! In the past, I tried learning from a different instructor and couldn't follow well enough to continue. You changed that for me, and now I want to learn more - Thank you! I wish there was a full-length (30 to 40 minute) workout of this instead of just 15, so now I'm shopping for a DVD of yours and wondering where to start. I love the flow of this workout and would like to find something at a similar difficulty level.

As expected practice went very well, good speed and flow, on screen text would be a real plus for beginners, us too. Some inhale and exhales hints might be a plus if one is not experienced. We did it early this morning before the heat of the day got going. Here in Hastings UK we are not used to such long spells with such high temperatures, especially on the coast.
As septuagenarians with time on our hands we would generally do a warm up, then a 8 brocade or similar, your 15 minute practice and then a cool down. Always good to have a bit of variety along with something familiar.
Once again many thanks. As an aside are you allowed to fish in the wetlands behind you, saw some nice fish jumping!!

Wonderful routine and I am very grateful to you for making it available. Unfortunately, like some others I had to abandon it midway when you kept switching away from full body view. I hope at some point you are able to re-edit it to show the entire routine from the viewpoint of the full body camera.
