- I give an update on the progress of the frame reassembly. I also install spacers for the bump stops. MG TD suspension, shocks, brakes, steering, tires, tyres, rebuild, restore, english, british, sports car, convertible, pedals, pads, master cylinder, brake lines, shoes, wheels, restoration.
Leave off the bump stops off the frame until after the engine and tub are on the frame. The top of the spindle will rip them apart if installed now. Two mistakes that I see...
First the tops of both front spindles are 180 out. The grease fitting should be on the outside.
Second mistake is the rear brake backing plates are 90 out. The hand brake should be pointed down.
One more item would be to not tighten any of the front a frame nuts until the engine and tub are installed.
Also now would be a good time to install the fume extruder over the peddles otherwise you will never get it on after the tub is installed.
Thanks for the tips! Having worked on modern cars so much, I'm used to there only being one way to install parts. They sound like pretty easy fixes. I'll see if I have time this weekend to make the changes.
Bravo!
