- Golfers are making a huge mistake with the hinge in their takeaway and don't realise what impact this has on club face! I see this SO often when teaching all levels of golfers, the best thing about this drill I am going to show you today, is it is a QUICK fix! I show you exactly how to turn and tilt your body in the backswing and when to load the power in the wrists swinging the golf club on plane!

*This is a real breakdown that I know makes it easy to know what to do with: 1. The body 2. The wrists & club*
If you're taking suggestions, there are countless swing videos on RUclips, I'd like to see more putting and short game lessons. Basically 100 yards in.
I've never heard the swing explained so easily. Can't wait to try it on Thursday. I'll let you know how it works out. Thank you!!!!
Alex, I tried this last night and I have to tell you, my ball striking was a LOT better. Didn't score well but that fix is between my ears. Thank you for this.
Great video Alex so easy to reference , simple instructions love it😊
Alex, a previous video you showed fixed my swing. It was the one where, on the takeaway, the hands firstly point down, then out, then up. It works a treat . If you recall it, can you do another video about it. I believe it would be invaluable to the viewers. Cheers.
My suggestion would be approach shots into the green. Do you aim for the middle and hope the ball stops on the green, or would aim just before so the ball can roll out? This is aimed 140yds > 100yds.
Second would be short game 100yds in with course management like club selection. We are not pros so the high lofted to land softly is not possible for us high handicapers. This would be awesome thanks.
I'd love to see a video about finding your swing tempo. . .I know this can be a bit specific to everyone, but finding out how to have a smooth, effortless (looking) swing is what I've been working on. I find if I try to slow down, I lose strike/low point, and make poor contact. But when it works, I gain distance over a swing where I'm trying to make the ball go a long way. I know it's probably covered in other videos, but I figured it's worth a shot. Thank you!
excellent video clear and to the point
Glad it was helpful!
Hey Alex! Thanks for putting out great content! I'm applying your lessons and its making me look good on the course with my golf buddies. Can you do a vide on graphite vs steel shaft irons and what clubhead/ball speed is more suitable for graphite vs steel?
Course! i will try and do rhis
Hi Alex love your videos- I’m 78yrs old played golf 50yrs no handicap played for enjoyment- I hit 7iron 150 160yds never take a divit am I losing distance ? Where I play only has driving range which is very good but no practice area on grass or bunker for sand shots could I improve????
Yeah for sure i will try and cover this in another video! Thanks for the comment and the support on the channel, i i really appreciate it 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
hi Alex, love your videos! my game has improved watching them. watching your videos, i hit the driver with greater distance, and now i get one drilled per game, but i get too many bad ones. how do you get consistency with the driver, are there any tips. slow it down? i find letting it go gets better results than trying to control. struggling but any tips on how to get driver consistency would be appreciated
Awesome lesson as always! Thanks so much
Glad you liked it!
Great video and so well explained. I have trouble with the transition and feel the need to rush the down swing. I either throw the club over the top and swing out to in or in order to swing from inside do not transfer my weight and come in with an open club face and push it right. I also seem to have trouble swinging down to ball as it is in the ground and in my bad shots either top in or hit it fat. I assume these are all from the same fault. A video on this would be good. Thank you and keep up the good work. I look forward each day to viewing your content.
Yeah for sure i will try and cover this in another video! Thanks for the comment and the support on the channel, i i really appreciate it 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Hi Alex, I think one thing that many amateurs get confused about is this. With the driver we want a slight spine tilt right but with shorter clubs that changes. If you could explain the difference between clubs, it might help a lot of people. Thanks.
Yeah for sure i will try and cover this in another video! Thanks for the comment and the support on the channel, i i really appreciate it 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Hi alex. I have problems with really long putts, either topping them or hitting the ground first. Can you give advice on dealing with the real long putt please
Excellent analogies and simple explanation 😊
Glad you think so!
It's like the old Arnold Palmer tip....at the end of your backswing your lead shoulder should be pointing at the ball
I would like to know are you using the one length club I this video
Hey hope you're doing well I hit my irons good but I struggle with fairway woods can you help.?
Yeah for sure i will cover this
Any reason or fix for pulling almost every iron shot? I have had this problem in the past, though I am not sure what causes it or how to prevent it
Yeah for sure i will try and cover this in another video! Thanks for the comment and the support on the channel, i i really appreciate it 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Great video Alex, do you have a drill, to stop spinning hips too fast, leaving club open and way behind, cheers Matt 👍
Yes Matthew I have one! Keep your eyes on the channel
@@AlexElliottGolf I watch daily 👍
I’m a complete rookie golfer, only been playing 6/7 months and so far completely self taught, I seem to be okay with irons and wedges but when it comes to driver I struggle so much, I’m a complete slicer and it really lets me down! Help!! 😢
Lewis! I have you sorted. Keep your yes on the channel
I focus on straightening my tight leg causing my rt butt cheek to go behind me. Thats the oerfect pivot for me. All else comes easy after that.
Contact , is so up and down on irons not consistent

I’m 43 and stronger than most 20 yr old lmao. You must have some out of shape 40 yr olds
I hope this drill helps you’re
@@AlexElliottGolf Honestly a lot of your drills help me. I consider you one of the best RUclips instructors so whenever your video pops up in my feed (usually daily) I watch. Very smart keeping the videos to around 8 minutes too…appreciate you brother 🙏
