The OnePlus 8 Pro was released over three years ago in 2020. With Carl Pei no longer at the helm and OnePlus shifting into a new direction, how does the 8 Pro stack up after all this time?

Normally I'm all in for changing to the latest version of Android but this time around I'm so glad I knew it was coming and managed to turn off auto update before the update to ColorOS came out

Aaahhh, OOS12. Been there, done that. Hate it so much that I have to flash the OS back to OOS11 after couple of weeks. So far, so good. For now...

I actually have the 7T Pro McL and I want to get the 8 Pro in that Blue color (absolutely gorgeous 💙) but I was scared of the horrible OxygenOS 12 and was worried I'd have to switch to Google or Samsung because of it. HOWEVER... the 13 update looks promising to me!! Like its finally ironed out the kinks of the merging of OxygenOS with ColorOS. It looks really clean IMO, nothing looks visually out-of-place, and I'm digging the plethora of cool new features! I just hope that it is smooth, bug-free, and has timely rollouts! MY FINGERS ARE CROSSED 🤞🏾

I would consider a factory reset, I've had similar issues with my 9 pro when installing oxygen os 12, I was pissed the bleep off and was in the process of a warranty when I decided to do a factory reset. Yes, it has resolved all my issues, happy.

Second hand, the S20 Ultra is the same price. Which to get, given that the Galaxy will be Exynoss in Old Blighty. (I hear that the Exynoss chip a Bad Thing but checking the numbers on comparisons, it isn't _that_ inferior). So, which do you buy now?

I'm coming from a Samsung Galaxy A71 and been really looking forward to getting a OnePlus 8. I see that the Pro is currently sitting at 700 USD on OnePlus's official website. So now I'm thinkin... If I decide to buy the phone now, will the phone still come with the good ol' Oxygen OS 11 and then I'd have the option to go for 12... or will the phone come with the latest color os already installed?

If it is completely new, it will come with Oxygen 11, and the second day it will tell you to upgrade to 12. You can ignore the notification. But do not forget to turn off the auto-update function. My OP 8 Pro came naked, with Android 11, and I can say the cameras were working a lot better at that moment.

I got this phone from the s8 plus but last week i noticed my s8 battery is swelling the back panel is lifted a bit.

I came from a S9+ due to wanting a different OS & save some money when the new galaxies were well into the £1000's. Unfortunately the new look of the OS has ruined my experience of what was a nice android experience. I will most likely go back to Samsung or iPhone when my OnePlus dies.

Os 12 was horrible downgraded to os 11 after 20 mins I suggest you do the same and you have a very useable phone again for at least another year

Personally, a bit biased cus I prefer android as a whole but I would say the 8 pro edges it out slightly given that it was released two years later. XS still a great phone though
