This is the first review I've seen that discusses drawbacks and design flaws. I appreciate that.
Thank you James! I appreciate you!
Just got one yesterday and looking forward to try it out. Great review!
That’s awesome! Would love to hear your thoughts about it after some use!
can't believe i was searching for reviews of this bag and your channel just uploaded a vid, lol. thanks!
Haha, awesome! Hope you found it helpful!
I've looked almost all the review videos regarding Bellroy Lite sling and this one gotta be the most informative one especially on highlighting its flaws. Thank you very much for your time to review this slingbag.
My pleasure and thank you for the kind words! ☺️
Just got mine today! Love it!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍
Got upsized for my Bellroy Sling Mini Bag.
Niicee!! Congrats!!
many thanks, what do you think about Venture, is it too big, is it suitable for Nintendo switch oled?
Is it suitable for everyday carry, and why don't you have it for your collection.
Which drawer will I put the nintendo switch oled in?
Excellent review and you have a great manner!
Thank you, Robin!
Very insightful review! 💯
Thank you, Gino 🤙🏽
Great review! Made some points on the sling.
Thanks for watching!
Nice review
Came here for the bellroy review but I appreciate the shopping bag suggestion. I am researching about nanobag but not a lot of reviews about it here in youtube. Thanks!
My pleasure man! The 24-7 is truly fantastic. Easily can recommend it over the nanobag unless you really need the bag to take up as little space as possible when collapsed.
Helpful video. You look good with those sunglasses:)
Thank you! ☺️
Helpful, thanks!
Really great review covering a much larger range of points than the others. Great criticisms that make sense. Will give this one a pass. The scrunchy look of it for the relatively high price is a weird combination.
I’m glad you found the video helpful!
I agree, it’s really more for a particular use-case where weight/compactness for travel is a priority-otherwise there are better slings out there for EDC.
Thanks for the review. Very thorough. I wonder if you think I could carabiner a 600ml water bottle to the strap for walking around? Like would it be comfy or keep hitting my body. I'm trying to decide between this sling and Bellroy's 9-liter Venture sling. I always want my water bottle with me and if it has to go inside the sling, then I may have to go with the Venture.
-Rob
Hi Rob, thanks for watching! I would say it is possible, but due to the lightweight nature of the sling, it might tug a little and not feel ideal. But unfortunately I don’t have the sling anymore to test that. Hope you find the sling that works best for you!
- Sean
@@CarryQuandaries Thanks for quick reply Sean.
heat shrink tubing is that molded zipper pull part!
I now know the name for my favorite zipper pull technology! Thank you 😄
Great detailed review.
Thank you Simon! I actually sold this sling and recently repurchased it and it is now my go to errands sling! Thanks for watching 🤙🏼😊
Did you try the regular size? I think both have annoyances but if size is the main issue (and the person likes bellroy) then it's a better option. I use a Patagonia Atom sling btw which is a bit bigger
I believe both the regular version and the Lite version are the same capacity at 7L, with the Venture being a bit larger and the mini being a bit smaller. I think 7L is actually a good size for a sling and can cover the bases for many load outs without being too bulky. But of course it all depends what you need to carry!
Hi. I'm comparing between the 6l and 7l. I'm travelling around for work purposes. Can it fit A5 book or mini iPad?
I don’t have the sling around anymore to test, but if I recall correctly it should fit a mini iPad or a small notebook.
If you’re in the US, Nordstrom sells the Lite Sling and offers free returns so I’d recommend just buying it and trying it out. Good luck!
I love the Venture Sling Bellroy bag, can you help me decide which color I should choose? It seems to be more suitable for Nintendo switch oled.
I actually don’t have much experience with the Venture Sling, but if it were me I’d go for the Ranger Green or the Bronze…I just seem to be into warmer earthy tones this season. :)
@@CarryQuandaries Would you choose Green or Bronze?
@@phuocletan6877 I’d go bronze
Very helpful. No sling is perfect, and you were very informative with your criticism, and not bitc..y at all.
Nice in depth review. How does this compare to sling mini apart from capacity?
Thanks! I didn’t use the Mini much because I recall not liking it pretty much immediately. When fully loaded it sat kinda weird on my body (didn’t like how it looked on me) and the main compartment (in addition to the front one) were awkward to access. Materials on that one are typical Bellroy-pretty nice, but not incredible.
@@CarryQuandaries , thanks for your thoughts . It helped
It bothers me a little bit that it's weather resistant and has aquaguard zips but it has two giant holes on the sides. Like, a decent rain with some wind and water will find its way into the main compartment.
I use this sling almost everyday and live in a rainy country, I've never had water coming in either side during heavy rain storms.
Great review! Can you fit your kindle oasis in the xpod?
Thanks Nick! Indeed I can! It just fits (without a case) in the back organizer compartment.
Btw, the X Pod in the vid is for sale if you’re interested in getting a good deal on one :)
@@CarryQuandaries I’m interested! Let me know how I can best get in touch.

Q!: do you know the difference between this and the "bellroy sling" (without lite) ? both are 7L, but i think different organization?
Different shape, the original sling has inferior access and less org, much better materials though.
the zipper access is v different, too -- has a normal zipper instead of the double ended zip.
I don’t remember precisely, as I’ve only used the regular version for like a day before returning it, but I recall the access to be inferior and I also recall it not conforming to my body as nicely. To me, materials felt just ok on the regular version. A bit rough feeling, not exactly what I’d describe as premium personally. Overall I prefer the Lite sling, assuming you’re Ok with the light and slightly unstructured material.
Of course, keep in mind that I haven’t used either extensively, so I can’t comment on durability for either.
I got both sling, material is totally different, original 7L sling is hard of skin. And allowed you to put heavy things, just like camera etc.
I really enjoyed watching this video! Was wondering, what is the exact name of the keychain accessory shown at 13:04?? Im having a hard time finding a similar one haha
Unfortunately it’s discontinued. grovemade.com/product/brass-key-ring/
But I think I have this one lying around. I’d be willing to part with it. Dm me on IG @carryquandaries or email sbern@hey.com
Really good review 👍
Thank you, Sinthu!
So... on Kauai as well... I need a sling that is packable, water resistant, and can hold my medium sized camera while at the beach. Suggestions?
Howzit! What’s your exact load out (Including body + lens combo)?
@@CarryQuandaries Howzit homie? Leica Sl2-S with 35mm Summilux M-lens... it's pretty compact... past that, some lens cloths, an iphone, and a wallet...
@@thegaragejournal6584 nice combo! When you say packable, you mean full on lightweight compressible? Because my instinct for a camera of that caliber is to have proper padding, either by using an actual camera sling, or by using a camera insert inside a sling. And then there is the question of aesthetics… personally I’d use something like a Billingham Hadley Digital Camera Bag. The aesthetic has a classic heritage English countryside vibe, but it looks good with shorts and slippahs too. I think it’s exactly the right size for your loadout, and the FibreNyte material is super water/stain repellent. My next thought if you prefer something more modern looking would still be something more robust like the DEFY Insidious Jr. I love the Multicam Black Cordura version. You can put the camera in there directly or you can use a little camera cube (Tenba BYOB 7 might fit that body; the BYOB 9 will definitely fit it-I have both so if you wanna come to Lihue you’re welcome to test them haha). Greenroom136 also has some nice squarish shaped slings-the Metrorunner might suit your needs well. Another option would be the Alpha One Niner Chio which will easily fit your load out with room to spare for a couple of beers.
I realize none of these are truly “packable” in the compressible sense…but if your priority is packability, you can go with something like Tenba BYOB/Packlite 9 Flatpack Bundle which is available on Amazon-although you will be compromising on looks/build quality.
Another interesting option is MZ Wallance Small Bleecker Messenger. It carries more like a messenger than a sling, but it is light weight, water resistant, and has some padding built in. I actually have one for sale-shoot me a message on IG @carryquandaries or email me sbern@hey.com if you’re interested. 🤙🏼
@@CarryQuandaries Thanks homie... I will start my research there!
Can you do a review on aer travel sling 2?
I technically could, but the thing is that I don’t really have a use case for it in real life-as I tend to carry a larger personal item for flights (usually a backpack) which fits a large water bottle and a healthy meal. So i’m not sure how valuable my review would be, as I don’t represent the target user…
Hi, I wonder if the strap of the sling is adjustable?
Yes, it is adjustable.
what was the cross body bag at 4:55?!
A slightly modified Code of Bell X-Pod
How many years is the lifespan of these bags, including the Venture?
Really hard to say. Depends how hard you push your gear.
@@CarryQuandaries how many years specifically?
@@phuocletan6877 between 1 and 50
@@CarryQuandaries years?
@@phuocletan6877 yes.
you dont use a water bottle during EDC?
Sometimes I do, it depends how long i’m out for (usually take one if I’ll be out for over an hour).
It is fit for pad pro 11inch?
I don’t have the sling anymore to test, but if it would fit it would be pretty tight…
Doesn’t fit. Not even a 10.2” iPad fits (gen 9). The fact that you didn’t keep it is telling isn’t it? (Not being flippant)
@@enriquediaz7547 yeah, it’s not really designed for iPad carry, more so for smaller essentials. It’s a nice sling for certain use cases but I didn’t find it as useful for my needs.
Does it fit Nintendo switch oled?
I don’t own one so can’t say definitely. But my guess would be probably yes in the main compartment. But idk how I’d feel about carry it around in this sling since you won’t have any patting/shock protection..
I wonder how easy this 'chalk' colorway is to be cleaned
Good question, but I didn’t get mine dirty...If you get one, I’d definitely spray it with one of those repellents upon purchasing.
i love this sling but yeah the zip is annoying and lack of additional organizers in main pocket make it best sling after aer day sling 2
but when i want to go out with reader 9 inch, umbrella and water bottle i usually use aer tech sling 2
very comfortable sling and looks very neat and techy
by the thanks for your videos you make great content, you are now master of slings )))
Yeah, it’s somewhere in the middle for me; still trying to decide if I should return it or keep it haha. It would be great for travel though…
Thanks for your kind words, and thanks for watching 🤙🏽❤️
