Very helpful video! I was wondering what was the difference between the 2 slings. The new one looks a lot nicer without all that glossy material! Thanks
I really didn't like the look of the diamond ripstop but couldn't find anything about the other type of fabric. Had no idea it just came out, thanks for showing it off!
Excellent video review. One thing to note is, for the strap used in the venture sling - only the Nightsky (dark blue) is the different material (but better in my opinion) from the other 3 sling colours. For the new lite sling vs the old, the new one doesn’t have the full cream internal compartment which I detest. I prefer they didn’t put the other half side as black interior as it makes it hard to see when you gear out all black items.
Thank you for doing this comparison!! Super helpful! I’ve been holding off on the new one for ages as I didn’t know the difference! Will definitely be getting the new one! 😊
Same!! I really like the new look that looks more black than the shadow one. Especially the light inner lining material. The feel of the original ones are very nice thought. So, I'm currently torn between the two. Ahhh.
@@SamanthaPangkey haha. I have ordered three, the two black ones and the arcade grey which is apparently yet another fabric. Let’s see, should arrive today. I’ll probably go for a black one, but the arcade grey is pretty cool as well.
Now the next question is, How is the "Dura Lite Ripstop" compare to the Dura Lite Nylon & Baida Ripstop? Somebody left a comment here, saying that the "Dura Lite Ripstop" is the most durable. Video: Ultimate Bellroy MINI Slings Comparison 2023 | Full Guide. " FYI if you go with any of the lite models go with the arcade gray colorway. It is made from a totally different material a nylon ripstop they say on their website but in person it is substantial. I have the light duffel in the gold/yellow and the arcade gray. How does the new material fair against pet hair, lint, etc? I have a lite sling in the old fabric (chalk color) and I like that it’s so slick that pet hair doesn’t really cling to it. Wondering if the new material is the same or if it holds onto it more.
I have a dog but he's a goldendoodle who doesn't shed much, but I havent seen any sign of the new fabric picking up extra lint in general. I think you'd be alright.
I know the general consensus is that Bellroy bags capacity are overstated in terms of liters. That said, I've been impressed with how the mini can carry due to that gusset system.
I haven't tried the Lite 7L, but I found the Venture 6L a little too big for me for everyday use. I'm working on a video comparing the Lite Mini to the Venture 2.5L and 6L.
Just posted a new video that includes the Lite Mini and a section of what I pack in there: ruclips.net/video/hsp_CEWg1x0/видео.html. I have a Sony A6400 w/ a 20mm lens that fits well but I think the Leica Q3 is bigger in most dimensions, particularly depth with the lens. The Kindle Paperwhite will fit for sure. I have an older model which is a little smaller than current gen and it fits with a bit of extra room to spare.
Strap is maybe 1/2" wider on the Venture 6L. Comfort is subjective and depends how much weight you have in the bags. But all things being equal, the wider strap of the 6L is more comfortable for me.
Definitely a subjective thing, for sure. I prefer the matte finish for most things, but I know a lot of car manufacturers would agree with you that shiny = premium ;)
The new version definitely looks like an improvement. I won’t miss the glossy zippers. In my wish list already. Thanks for the comparison!
Thanks for the comment. Totally agree on the zippers!
Great comparison and now easy to see which version I got. Amazon has some overstock on the old diamond rip stop.

Yeah their website isn't super clear in the difference. Glad you found the video helpful! 👍

Good to know! Just ordered the 7l lite online and I’ll know what to look for in sussing out which version I got
Absolutly perfect presentation of the bags and their differents. Great.

Which one did you prefer overall?
Ah cool, thanks. Not looking at the lite sling, but the lite duffel and was confused about the materials on the two different blackish ones.

From what I experience with from other bags, the glossy AG Zips end up breaking apart faster compared to the Matte.
This made my decsion - not a huge fan of diamond ripstop so this change works so well for me!
How can I exchange for the new one?! Lol I really like the new style
Fortunately my ripstop version was still in the return window when the new fabric was announced. 😅
Thank you for this, I decided to order the new one.
thank you! I was wondering about the difference
Great review, doesn't the new version feels more stiffness in the material
I agree. Have both and the older version for sure feels softer.
Yeah it's a little more stiff. It sits somewhere between the original material and the Venture sling material.
@@JohnScottBthanks for this
Can the Canon 90D with a 15-85mm lens fit into the 4L Bellroy sling?
How does the new material fair against pet hair, lint, etc? I have a lite sling in the old fabric (chalk color) and I like that it’s so slick that pet hair doesn’t really cling to it. Wondering if the new material is the same or if it holds onto it more.

Hi, do you think the bag capacity true to size? It feels like the bag is smaller than 4L
I know the general consensus is that Bellroy bags capacity are overstated in terms of liters. That said, I've been impressed with how the mini can carry due to that gusset system.
Does 7L looks big while wearing it? Please include in next video so we there’s comparison though 😄

Awesome video. Thanks for this. So helpful.
Thanks so much for the comment! I got a lot of value out of your channel whole researching bags 😊
@@JohnScottB happy to hear that we are helping one another in this community.
Do they both weight the same?
I didn't weigh them, but according to Bellroy's website they both weigh 185g 👍
How is the strap width and comfort vs the Venture 6L?
Strap is maybe 1/2" wider on the Venture 6L. Comfort is subjective and depends how much weight you have in the bags. But all things being equal, the wider strap of the 6L is more comfortable for me.
Personally, I think the old fabric looks better and more premium. At least from what I can see in the video.

Does it fit iPad mini?
No, not in the Lite Mini. The 7L lite would fit an iPad mini though 👍
It fits the iPad mini!! With pencil attached too.
It’s actually the perfect size for the iPad mini + a few key essentials
