Thank you for your review on this Sling, I love it and bought because of your review. Thank you for what you do, it is helpful when making my choices. Appreciate what you do!
I love this sling, especially for travel, it’s so versatile and has tons of space while also being so light and flat when not packed out. My only issue is that I don’t love it for EDC, I just want more organization in that main area for typical EDC. I’ve been eying a Venture sling or perhaps a sling from Aer…but in the meantime, I’ve begun taking my Alpaka tech case mini and just throwing that in there. That has a pretty perfect amount of EDC organization, and it fits pretty perfectly in the main area of the sling. And yes, I know the tech case can in fact become its own sling - this is just more enjoyable and comfortable. It’s a totally weird setup, but until I settle on another sling to pick up, it works for me. 😂
Awesome review Aaron! As always! When I began the “Journey for the Perfect Travel Sling” I started with this one just at the moment Bellroy made the announcement and I enjoyed it a lot, very lightweight, packable and easy to clean, also great inner space, sadly, the things that turned me down on this one and made me look for a replacement (being the Aer City Sling 3 the replacement LOTS LOTS of pockets for organization) is the terrible lack of organization (IMO) I don’t carry with me lots of stuff, but having everything inside just like a mess really annoyed me a lot. Also, I’m not the kind of person who is sensitive to this kind of things, but I just found the material of the sling very noisy to a point that annoys me, so I just replaced it but I kept it for a specific kind of usage: sports. I do trekking very often and took the Lite Sling to some trekking trips and it just was awesome for that. Very lightweight, and easy to clean when it gets dirty, also the main internal pocket just let me to put any kind of 1L water bottle that you can find on convenience stores, some snacks and things like this. I’m still using it but for sporty or outdoor stuff due to the lightweight and ease to clean. I’m currently using the Aer City Sling 3 as my travel sling because even when its smaller than the Bellroy Lite Sling, the ballistic nylon looks good on my outfits, its not that noisy, and the internal organization is perfect for carrying all my stuff nicely organized to have easy access on my things on the airport, like AirPods, power banks and things like that. Bellroy definitely needs to work on their inner organization because most of their slings lacks of pockets and dividers. That kind of stuffs just made me to replace my most of my Bellroy’s littler slings with Aer and Alpaka slings.
Bellroy is good. Bellroy is king. Of course mate, it's Aussie.! Momentarilty running Davinci sling, great for urban but we're using it as an outback survival edc. Durable & versitile with that rugged cool attitute. Doing a two nights camping & trekking in the Hinterlands to test its other attributes. Weather forecast - Cold & Rain. Cheers for the updates cobber.!
Rarely a product I already owned before watching your review. I love this Sling, the light weight and right size make it perfect for use as an EDC bag. I agree that the only downside for me is slightly lack of organization of the main compartment, but as a Sling, this is not too bad. I got the chalk color (white) which I loved but may need extra care for avoiding dirt.
Thank you so much for the great review! I just ordered the sling because of you! I'm very excited to take it hiking and traveling soon! thank you again for your wonderful videos!
@ I love my sling! I’m right handed, but I guess I wear the sling on the wrong shoulder, because the clip is in the back. I don’t mind. I do love the zipper!! It’s so easy to open from either direction! And my water bottle does fit, but it’s solid, so it’s pretty uncomfortable bumping up against my body. I’ve ordered a collapsible water bottle that will be soft. Glad I had time to test these things out before my trip!
It's a nice sling. Lack of interior organization made me move from Lite Sling to Venture 6L. Because of it's organization features, I feel like I can fit as much, if not more, in Venture 6L, even though the lite sling is 7L. At least the stuff I carry fits better in the Venture. I do miss the magnet in the strap though. Wish Venture had it.
I hear the new lite series uses an improved duralite material after concerns over durability of the early bags. And they listened to your comments on the interior color - they lightened it
Nice review, as always! So overwhelmed by Bellroy options that I never bought anything by them (always wanted to try a backpack but not at one with straps). If you had a place to start for a sling, Venture Ecopak? NYC gal. 5'6." Don't want anything bigger than 3/4L. Gotta fit 13" phone, glasses (not a photog). Minimal. No dangle. No poking. Some org. Want it to hold its shape. Crossbody and fit close to body. Not a big fan of that compression system If it does nothing...you review so many slings, you are welcome to choose another brand. And I welcome your wisdom.
you are spoiled for choice lol, many slings will fit these requirements. The Venture is amazing, and Ecopak materials are supposed to be next level (although I haven't reviewed them myself yet). The new Aer Pro Sling is worth a look and holds it shape quite well. Alpaka Vertical Sling is also an awesome option - our review on it will go live in a few weeks. Say hi to my favorite city for me! 🍎
Thanks so much for responding. Love that you offer up options. Told NYC you send it love (meanwhile, after being here forever, anxious to move somewhere with more green or blue)….

@Nomads.Nation ok cool. Was wondering if i can use it occasionally as a waist bag if i want to do a short day trek during travel. Thanks for the swift reply 👍
I haven't found anything I like more than this sling. If I could change anything it would be making the front pocket a little bigger, I wouldn't mind just a tad more organization in the main pocket and last I wish it was easier to clean. I have tried tons of similarly sized slings and I always come back to this one as my EDC. I was able to fit my essentials and a mirrorless camera in here during vacations with both a pancake and a pretty big 16mm lens on it, it kept my camera safe and dry, that is about the max I could comfortably carry as far as weight though. I got an email from them yesterday previewing that turquoise color in August and I am all about it!
i'll take this over the city pouch at any given day. since both of them sells for roughly the same price, at least in my country they are (Philippines)
Seems like a nice travel option. I already have a venture 6L and 10L so I don’t think I’ll bite. I sorta like the thicker straps and more structure of the ventures, as it supports heavier weight nicely. It’s a trade off for liteness and packability I guess. Usually the bigger items I take are an umbrella/packable jacket or drink. If I didn’t own the venture 6L I’d maybe start here though.
if the thief was able to spot the magnetic hardware, know how to open it, and time it just right, sure. But if a thief is that committed then he's probably gonna get your bag no matter what
Just purchased the 4L version for an EDC bag. Has just enough room to relieve my pockets, to have a power cord and bank, and a granola bar or protein bar in case I need a snack. Not bad for $79. Also bought the Alpaka Vertical Sling, but it hasn't arrived yet, so I can't really speak on it yet.
Hey Jonny! I actually am here because I took the Alpaka Vertical and the 4l of `this` sling into closer consideration. What can you say as of now? I think my current use cases would be travel (as in: during travelling, at my destination I would chose another means of edc), and conferences.
@afoeder I'd be torn between the two for travel. They both compress pretty well and carry a decent amount of stuff. The key difference would be the organization of the Alpaka versus the "openness" of the Bellroy. So, to answer your question, I'd say if you need to be more organized and carry items that aren't as big, get the alpaka. If you need to carry something larger (like a water bottle), I'd purchase the Bellroy.
A con so far anout this sling bag (after just an hour I got it home today) is how difficult it is to open and close the small pocket zipper... Is it because it is new and it needs to get used to it ? Hope so😅 A part from that amazing sling bag. Very happy!
Ahhh I recently found this bag at Nordstrom Rack for an absolute STEAL. Didn't think much of the size until I put it on and stood in front of the mirror, that thing is surprisingly big. Holding out for the Lite Mini to go on sale.
