- Just 3 patch examples for the Dreadbox Erebus v3, including 1) vibrato, 2) sample and hold, and 3) percussion. All 3 examples use the mod wheel to control the amount of the modulation, but offer significantly different results. And yes, the intro music is 100% just the Dreadbox Erebus v3.

2. Sample & hold modulation of the filter

Got my V3 yesterday and as I am new to modular your tutorial is really helpful. I really love the dreadbox synths for its OSC tone and filter sound. Also bought the V2 and the typhon.
Thanks for the feedback and glad it was helpful. Can't usually go wrong with a Dreadbox synth. Mach viel Spass damit!
This video was tremendously helpful in helping me wrap my head around the patch bay and utilize it's features on tracks. Left me wanting more. I'd stumbled on a "whip with crack" noise that I've been trying to replicate ever since. Very "Master and Servant".
Cool...always glad to hear a video is helpful.
Thanks so much for this, I came across this video again as Im playing a lot with my Erebus these days and its just great !!!
Cool...very glad it helped, 'cause that's why it was made.
Superb - i had never understood s&h before. Another mystery unravelled. Thanks
Cool...glad it helped. Yeah, most synths just have a S&H LFO mod you can turn on, but they don't help you understand exactly how it works. I had to patch a S&H mod on the Dreadbox Murmux v2 (very similar to this), and it took a little effort to understand it, so I thought I'd pass that on and explain it a bit in this video as well.
Hi, I have a Mophokey, so soundwise is the Erebus an overlap to the mopho, or is it different enough to complement?
Yay, you’re back! 😎 Excellent video, good demonstrations.
Zoals altijd Marc, bedankt. Hopelijk kunnen een paar Erebus fans iets leren.
@@ProckGnosis : I'm sure they will. The mod wheel via vca/attenuator is a very useful thing to know. Kind of normal on a modular, but something most people probably won't realise they have to do on a synth like this. It's a bit convoluted, but on the other hand it does open up a load of other modulation possibilities. Btw., I've been doing a load of synth jams (hint, hint)... ;-) and I'm thinking of doing a live stream doing the holidays...
@@MarcWeertsMusic Yes, you HAVE been doing a boatload of jams. And quite nice ones. Not sure how I missed them other than my amount of surfing has been fairly low the last month or two. I'm liking the ambient stuff. Have to say I've been listening to a lot more ambient stuff lately, just because it's works quite nicely while I'm trying to write for work. Will have to work this into the rotation.
@@ProckGnosis : Np - I assumed you were busy also based on the absence of new videos... Glad you're liking my new stuff! I love working on the soundscape-y side these days, seems to work well with how I approach building the tracks.
Great stuff, thanks.
Cool...glad it helped.
🎹 Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends... 🎹
Nice demo!
Thanks. It will help somebody out, I hope.
@@ProckGnosis I half expected you to break out into a Greg Lake vocal with the above lyrics :-)
@@jamesvoos2432 Oh, I DID contemplate it... : )
That is totally what I got-ELP!!! Good stuff here. Thank you!
I enjoyed your video! Good job as always!!
Efcharisto! Eisa apo tin Patra?
ProckGnosis yes from Patra.
@@thaneco Have some friends who live there. Have enjoyed quite a few coffees, beers, and even some nice live music while visiting.
ProckGnosis its a beautiful city with lots of things to do. If you visit Patras again makes sure you come at March 9 - 10 for the Carnival 2019 festival. Also during the summer months you will find beautiful beaches at Rion, a few kilometers outside the city.
@@thaneco I'll definitely be coming through again some time. I've heard a lot about the spring Carnival festival. I have a friend who showed me pictures of the crazy outfits they had to wear for the parades. Not sure if they still do that though.
great tutorial/demo here man. If you have time it would be great to go over the clock/duty and multi patch points...thanks
Thanks. Hopefully it helps explain some things. When I do another video, I'll try to address some of the other, less-obvious patch points like those.
Love my v3! Would love to have that MoPho you’re controlling it with also ;)
Love the s&h patch. Reminds of that famous NIN patch on Closer :)
Yeah, the MoPho x4 is a great little synth. Sounds good all by itself, is well-made, and works as a nice little controller on top of it all.
ProckGnosis I’ve wanted one for years and never got one. Now it’s discontinued. Go figure haha. Still might pick one up some day, though the new Minilogue XD makes a good competitor. Keep up the vids! Been a fan for a long time :)
Didn't realize they finally discontinued it, though I'm not surprised. They actually kept it in their lineup longer than I thought they would...thought it was still showing as "in production" on their website last year some time, which I was surprised by.
ProckGnosis It’s gotta be their longest production run, or at least close. I may pick one up used at some point if the price doesn’t skyrocket now 😅
@@HotStrange Hey, I'm not sure where you're based, but I just saw that MusiciansFriend (here in the US) still have some new Mopho x4's in stock. They're going for $749.99. Must be the last bunch they're trying to get rid of.
excellent PG... but think your mixing up green with blue, maybe.
Lol...ah, you missed my text in the video saying as much...nothing like some obviously blatant mistakes like that, eh? Geeeez...
were's the beer Dude! cheers.
The beers have been drunk! Cheers!
ProckGnosis Lol good one man
