I was flying from Sacramento back to Los Angeles. I boarded the plane and put my noise cancelling headphones on. The plane started to move on the runway to this song, and took off right at the time of the chorus at 3:41 to "Aaj rung hai..". It was a magical feeling. But then I realized; I have always taken off at 3:41 when listening to this song. I didn't need a plane to fly high to this song. This song has always cancelled all the noise around me. It's wonderful, wonderful. I am too small to express appreciation of Hazrat Khusro himself, but how incredibly well Fareed Ayaz and Abu Mohammad do justice to his poetry and music.

I would've not even known Amir Khusro if it wasn't for coke studio Pakistan. In fact, they could sing the same song about dodo the bird and I'd still love it. Music > Everything else.
