Maybe I have grossly underestimated the power of classical music, but this is the first time when I started to cry bitterly while listening to a song. This, in spite of the fact that I don't understand the lyrics. Music, culture and its people are the three bridges which link our two nations together, the sooner we realize this truth the better for both of us. All these 6 decades of fight and hatred have yielded nothing, lets now start working for a better tomorrow : a better India and a better Pakistan!

Thankyou soo much for this Rohail... thankyou for all that you have done for music but this I feel is your most important work ....
I keep coming back to this piece periodically and then indulge to the point of addiction and insanity ....
Its one of those things that it can be the ONLY thing you listen to till the day you die and it can be enough....
I won't comment on the poetry or singing or compostion because even praising them is beyond the realm of my capabilities but I have to say Fareed Sahib's physical performance and expressions have indeed elevated this already incomparable qawalli to the level where not seeing his face while listening to this makes it feel incomplete)
      Love and Awe and Respect...

Well, its about culture rather than music show.. And yes there is a depiction of our culture in this music series. What CNN, Fox news show are fabricated facts and some of them are really ridiculous.

If anything can send you to ecstasy, its song like this. Not everyone is lucky enough to realize that. Was in a trance mode. Its amazing that such music is recreated thanks to legacy of Khusrau sahab. Music has NO BOUNDARY and NO RELIGION, not everyone can realize that too. Lucky to be part of this fraternity.
Greetings to the DUO and Rohail sahab. Love and Respect from INDIA....

Rohail Hayat and Coke Studio Pakistan have brought together the musical instruments and talented players from all over the world with some singers I had not heard of before but the setup and this orchestra boosts their talent to the highest level. This is revolutionary and ingenious in the musical industry and will be instrumental bringing the world together to enjoy musical creations like these regardless of knowing the language of the song. Great creativity!

Absolutely stunning - I cannot think of too many other performances that possess such transcendence and spirituality. Even the musicians who must have rehearsed this many many times seem transported by the music - especially that curly haired guitarist who is becoming my favorite band member! Truly something magical has been created and captured here.

After the 3rd minute I entered a trance state and tears refused to stop till the 16th minute. Such great artists! What a brilliant song! Though I couldn't extract the inner meaning of the lyrics in its entirety (somebody please tell if you know), the lyrics kept me shaken throughout the song. I am an Indian and I'm so proud of our South Asian classical/sufi music heritage. It is the remedy for the broken heart & all the troubles in an otherwise ruthless world we live in.
