How divine and serene the wordings and how beautifully Amir Khusro has written about his guru Nizamuddin Auliya. True to the saying one can not attain the real knowledge with out a good teacher "Bin Guru Gyan Kahan"
I am positive if Khusro was with me tonight, after listening to this performance he would have fainted. For two reasons, he could have never thought that people will be still listening to his verses, and how the world has changed, yet with all this jazz he is still revered. Look at all this & think of his times, what is shared, nothing but his words. But then maybe not, he was a forward thinking person & an innovator, did he not introduce Khayal, breaking away from the older & cumbersome style.
How can you actually explain a flawless performance in words..its a state a state that can only be felt and absorbed to get into a state of trance,PAKISTAN gave birth to a talent like Hadiqa and so many more changing the vision of pakistan a true pakistan thank you Hadiqa you made us all pround p.s i have got goose bumps still even after finishing the kalam, BRAVO.Thanks to the whole team of coke studio for giving birth to another master piece,keep it up.

One definition of Rung is Submission and when Hazrat Amir Khusro wrote this, he was basically submitting himself to Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia R.A. For this reason, Rung is always read at the end of the qawwali session. I have listened to many versions of Rung, live and recorded, and noticed that feeling of submission is needed in singers voice. With that feeling, the respect and joy just comes automatically and a great version is created. In this version, Hadiqa is just simply singing for the sake of singing a song and hence fails to touch you at deeper levels than just good music.
Even after such tensions between India and Pakistan I just can not resist myself from listening to this masterpiece. Everything about this song is perfect. 💕

Although this metaphysical poem has meaning beyond my comprehension, I thought I post this poem to celebrate the dominant red color used in Holi festival.
The knitting of the music is beautiful. The lyrics are par excellence. Has Rohail Hayyat turned Sufi? Without the understanding of this spiritual kalam, it's impossible to weave such a music.

Just came from Rang by Amjad Sabri and Rahat - while it is great but I think this transcends it in the mode of spirituality. Hadiqa sings it on a very deep level and the electronic loop in the background adds to the whole trance-like feel.
