    I have had my 2006 zx10 for 2 months. Tonight I took it down town and everything was fine. On my way home accelerating from a stop I lost all throttle at 5k ish rpms. I’d let off the throttle then go back on and it’d jump a little like it wanted to go but wouldn’t. I managed to limp home 6 miles doing maybe 5-20 mph on average. Changing to any gear I could accelerate for a split second. Any acceleration I did find was inconsistent. It died 2 times doing this. When i’d turn it off and back on I could get up to higher speeds. One time I got back up to 80ish but the issue came back when I slowed down. Any idea what’s wrong or where I could start? I’m not mechanical inclined and feel frustrated.

      It definitely could be a fuel pressure issue. But in order to check that you need a fuel pressure tester. And be kind of mechanically inclined a little bit. Did the bike throw any type of code? If not it is definitely not a cam sensor could be a crank sensor but I'm pointing my finger more at fuel pressure at the moment. Cuz when you cycle the key off and back on the fuel pump primes again and then it probably starts to lose pressure as you go. Also when was the last time you checked your spark plugs?

      Fuel pump possibly, my 2005 zx10r cuts in and out at 9-11k rpms consistently. I'm going to replace it Tuesday

    Just an amazing video! Sorry if my enlish isn't great (I'm from Sweden) =) Having some similar problems with my kawasaki z900 - 17 which at one point gave the code P0335. It mostly fires up just great, but after riding for a while and parking it, it sometimes wont start. Sometimes it helps backing up while pushing the starter button, and sometimes nothing helps. Right now its at the mechanic and we'll see what they can fiugre out. But I found your video really interesting! Wish I had someone like you around that really knows how to check for errors. great video once again! /Adrian

      Hey Adrian. Your English was pretty spot on. It could possibly be the crank sensor also. But if the shop you took it to knows what they are doing they should be able to figure it out pretty fast.

      @@limitlesspowersportsservic3394 Last time I had it in at the shop they said they talked to Kawasaki and that a common error is some connector on the clutch side. They switched it out but that didn't do anything. Is it possible that it also could have something to do with the sidestand? I accidentally dropped the bike once in the garage due to an oily floor? Thanx for your answers🙂 also, u definitely have a new sub from me!

      @limitlesspowersportsservic3394  Год назад +1

      Well if it was the side stand switch the bike won't even turn over. Definitely sounds like a bad connection somewhere are possibly kind of the same issue that I found with this one. I would call the shop & find out if they did a resistance test on the suspected wiring circuit they found the fault on.

    Can i ask you a very important question i park my bike up for the night it was fine nothing wroung next morning go to start it and it wouldent go i tryed jumping it wouldent turn took it to my mates garage he told me it was the starter motor no big deal i go to collect it today he now tells me its the complete cam shaft and showed me it it was in bits how the hell did that happen any ideas

    • @limitlesspowersportsservic3394
      @limitlesspowersportsservic3394  11 месяцев назад

      Wow that's crazy. I have seen them break before but that was usually from improper insulation. It's very rare that one just breaks unless you have a vavle train failure. So you are saying that the bike was running just fine before you parked it for the night?

    • @limitlesspowersportsservic3394
      @limitlesspowersportsservic3394  11 месяцев назад

      That doesn't make any sense to me. Usually if you break a cam you destroy the topend because it get all out if time, breaks the vavles off, destroys the piston & the bike shuts off. Any idea why you buddy decided to check the cams if he thought it was another problem? I'm not pointing any fingers but that's absolutely crazy scenario for that to happen. That would have to be the perfect storm for you to just park it & the cam breaks on start up

    I have a problem where it primes and everything starter spins but doesn’t crank at all how can the starter be spinning backwards changed the stater can the polarity be backwards can’t find this anywhere

      Sounds this the oneway bearing on the starter clutch went out. You have to remove the torque limiter gear in order to replace the oneway bearing.

      Lol I know that feeling. Are you getting any FI codes? I would tryto replacethe cam sensor first.(KAWASAKI OEM CAM SENSOR | 21176-0064)
      It could be a bad crank sensor .(KAWASAKI OEM PULSING COIL | 59026-0009 Also male sure the battery is charging properly. Low battery voltage with cause the fuel injection system to act all kinds of crazy

      Sounds like it's your crank position sensor/ crank pick up. It is what tells the ECU when to fire. They love to go out when the bike it hot & after it cools down it will fire back up. It's a common problem & it won't though a FI code when it fails.

    • @limitlesspowersportsservic3394
      @limitlesspowersportsservic3394  Год назад +1

      Possibly a bad fuel pump. I would check your fuel pressure. Should be around 42psi & above. Also is should hold fuel pressure after ot cycles

    • @vcotta2012
      @vcotta2012 Год назад

      @limitlesspowersportsservic3394 the bike currently has no fuel cap. Could that be the cause?

    • @limitlesspowersportsservic3394
      @limitlesspowersportsservic3394  Год назад +1

      That won't effect how it runs but that will definitely let water & everything else get into the gas tank. If you have an unsealed gas tank I Can guarantee that your gas is going to go bad very fast. And it's also going to have water in it.
