Thank you so much for this video. I was ready to give up on my bike after throwing a new pump and sock filter on with no change. Didn’t realize there was a screen filter in the housing. I tried cleaning it by spraying it with injector cleaner and compressed air and it didn’t work. I Just got an ultrasonic and this technique also worked for me! My bike was putting out only 7 ml of fuel! Now it’s well over spec! My bike rips now!
I'm glad I came across this video cause I've been struggling and wondering what was wrong with my Kawasaki zx 6r ,it's been 2 and half year struggling but after watching this video and applying what this guy in the video did .my bike is now roaring like a mountain lion and it functions very good .I took it for a ride check and hit 263km/h Thank you so much ✌️✌️
My pleasure! I messed with this issue for like 6 months. I thought I solved it by cleaning all the electrical connections, but that was only a minor issue.
Huh. My freshly rebuilt '09 650 won't rev past 3-3500. Wonder if the fuel pump I un-stuck is the problem 😅 The tank was half full of water when I got the bike and the pump was siezed. I freed it up by poking inside with a pick, even though I had a new one on the shelf. Guess I'll change that out now.
Probably not. The only way I fixed it was to clean the fuel pump housing cap in an ultrasonic cleaner and replace the pump. Check your fuel flow and fuel pressure before you do that though to make sure that the problem is not something else like the throttle position sensor.
@@mussaa6891 I don't know if a gsxr has the same kind of fuel pump housing, but if it is the same, then that is likely to be the same problem. If anything, check the flow rate by measuring how much fuel comes out when it primes. You will have to check the gsxr forums or maintenance manual to see what the flow rate is supposed to be.
I have a problem on my gsxr 1000 k7 after changing ECU ( OEM to OEM ) but new one due to service from SUZUKI that should be done to this model Now when im pulling full throttle instantly it is bogging down like its not letting me pass 7K rpm ... when i accelerate smoothly it goes fine to the red line without any problems or power loss Any advices? TPS checked and it works fine...
@@FainieYT I'm not familiar with GSXR components, but it sounds like either the fuel filter is clogging or fuel pump is intermittently not pumping. Maybe check the flow rate and pressure. If the pressure is under 40 PSI then the pump is bad or the pressure regulator is going bad. If the pressure is good, then check the flow rate. If the flow rate is below spec then either the fuel filter is clogged or the pump is also bad.
@@saltyshellback Thanks for advice, i went for a short ride today and accelerated with full throttle 2nd 3rd gear and it was like it cut off the gas for a split of second around 7-8k rpm and then it went higher normally, i also accelerated on 6th gear but when rpm was around 7-8k it also lost big amount of power, after rpm passed 8k it was smooth again, i also noticed shots from exhaust when giving it throttle on neutral

Hello, I have the same motorcycle, 2008 zx6r, but I am having this problem. The problem goes away for a while, when I turn off the engine and start it again, was your problem like this?
Mine works fine for about 15 minutes after it has sat for a few hours then starts to lose RPMs. After I cleaned the fuel pump housing and changed the pump, it worked fine.
@@saltyshellback just figured out no pimp makes sense it’s vacuum operated by petcock. And learned that gas tank vent by gas cap is common issue. Seems like I’m getting low flow out of petcock
I hear and have seen many people have the same problem. It is most likely the less known inaccessible mesh in the top cover of the fuel pump housing. It really needs to be cleaned out regularly or completely removed if possible.
New pump was fitted with the small baggy filter and no difference there is another fuel pump on the way the whole unit becouse last time I only replaced the fuel pump and the filter so will see now
Dawn dishwashing liquid. About 2 tablespoons and the rest water (about 1 1/2 quart). Then I rinsed it out with fresh water and blew it out with compressed air.

Ultrasonic cleaner😃👍 I never knew☺️ That is so cool. Everyone could use one of those! I could use it for jewelry & coins too🤙 Nice bike Salty💯
Yup, it is very useful at cleaning odd shaped stuff. Harbor freight has them for $89.

While you have the housing out, make sure you flush out that little hole in the cap of the housing.
I gotta get me one of those deep fryer sonic cleaners!
They are very versatile! 😄
Was the main fuel pump filter bad?
@@Killemwithvibes It was a bit dirty but not completely clogged.

I applied what you did, but the problem still persists, the rpm does not go above 8 and 12.
Check your injectors. They may be clogged.
