Thank you for mentioning the it only primed when the tank was tilted, i had the same exact issue and it was stumped. You confirmed the ground issue is what i really need. I depinned the original connectors ground wire on the harness side and ran a new wire straight to the battery negative and she was good as new . And you can remove the tank without any extra steps too
I'm glad you got it fixed and taken care of! I was going to go ahead and go into the harness, but the customer just wanted a switch instead. You could solder a wire from the tank to the frame as well if you wanted to.
I mean he stated the exact problem in the beginning lol fuel pump wouldnt prime unless the tank was lifted.. this is when you have gone through every other test is when you should be watching this.
@@twowheelthings did or do u know if customers bike ran fine? I have the same kinda issues. My pump works but when I connect it to ground harness I have no power
@@patrickyell3769 after using the switch, it ran perfectly after. It basically wasn't grounding the tank, which would then not give the fuel pump power.
@@patrickyell3769 with the switch, there's no priming. It just runs it continuously. If you're trying to fix it without that, do what I did with the wire that grounds it and solder it. It'll be better than having to flip a switch and having it run no matter what.

I had the exact same issue and this works. Seriously Thank you for posting this video.
Wish you would have shown what it sounded like and was doing before you fixed it
There was no fuel pump prime before fixing it. Absolutely no fuel pump prime when key was turned.

Does it stay running when u flip switch?
Yes it does. The switch is to turn the pump on, so whenever the switch is activated, the pump runs.

So with switch on it did it prime for a few sec then stop like normal or continuous.

What if the fuel pump doesn't stop priming?
Sounds like you have it on the wrong connector, or… Something may be shorting.
