RAPÉ & AYAHUASCA RITUAL | TRADITIONAL AMAZON MEDICINE

  • This is part II of our experience in the rainforests of Brazil, experiencing traditional amazon medicine with a shaman of the Marubu tribe.
During this experience we were allowed to try and film 3 types of jungle remedies; Ayahuasca, Kambo, and Rapé.
Rapé is an extremely common practice in many types of ceremonies. A hollow bone is used as a type of pipe to blow a complex combination of pulverized jungle plants into the nose. This powder can be many things, but often the base ingredient is a type of tobacco that is 20 times more potent than the one found in cigarettes. It is used to purify the mind. It cleanses the illness and clutter that blocks us from seeing the truth of our intentions.
Also used in this ceremony was Ayahuasca, which is a concoction of fermented herbs which allows the user to see the fabric of the universe, giving powerful and colourful hallucinations. However in this instance it was a mild version of this psychedelic mixture used to balance the intensity of the Rapé.
If you haven't seen the other part to this story, please watch the Kambo: Frog Poison Ritual episode. This is where the story picks up after this video ends.
This experience is one of my favourites since I started travelling 8 years ago.

I have to say, thank you so much for not exploiting these locals, and giving them the proper respect they don’t always receive from travelers. It’s a really beautiful thing when we as humans can humbly connect with each other and share our wisdom and cultures with one another. my dad is from peru and talks about it all the time and I feel so drawn to go there and connect with my roots. thank you for these videos, and for being a good person.

This episode particularly, you remind me of my best friend Stephen. He ODed one yr ago last july. He taught me everything i know about growing psilocybin mushrooms, and other psychedelic substances. He got hooked on opiates, and it killed him. The way you looked by the fire explaining what ayahuasca is, reminded me of him. I miss you bro. Life ain't the same without you. Cherish your friends while they are still around. Going on these spiritual journeys, can truly combat anxiety and depression. It also helps you analyze yourself honestly.

It’s what the elder said… modern society is making people sick, but not the body, the mind.. because of the way they need and learn to act… we nowadays get depressed by money, not having something material, not having a good car or phone… the natives fell sad if they starve, if they get sick, they fell happing if everyone is good and if they have food and water… different values in life, different priorities…

Wow thank you for explaining and experiencing that. We did lsd back in the 90's and Balinese mushrooms. This was when the island was vastly different to what it is now and still very village. They were both intense but very different experiences. I'm glad I had those experiences. Would I do them again? LSD yes under the right circumstances. Mushrooms never, far too intense for too long(8hrs) But thank you for explaining this very interesting. It would be interesting to know what the chemical ingredient is... Oh dmt. Cool

Rapé. Love this medicine. Don’t inhale, don’t ingest. Remember to breath after administration. Tobacco is present so prayer is always nice before, during and after. Nice to not overblow your nose sinuses as inflammation will make it hard to breathe thru your nose. Different cultures administer differently. I personally like it in a quiet space and let the medicine take me deeper. Clear the thoughts all love. Cleanse purification.

Hi fearless and far. I was thinking, when you are givin the Rapè at feel the need to spit and sutch. I would have been worried about where to do so. I seems it's okay to just let it out over the shoulder. But I can't help to wonder if it's a thing they do themselves, the locals.
Thanks for sharing this experience with us 🙏🏼

I've watched most of your videos @Fearless & Far , but so far I'm liking the earlier videos. We will see how that goes as I watch more. Epic content. I wish I could do a trip with you man! I'm not at my 100%, but more like 75% + most days, but I do think I could handle it all for a week or so. If you are willing to take a handicapped guy along that doesn't know the word quit, HMU and maybe we could do some fun content together?

Omg the second time he served you rapé was painful to watch! Whenever someone serves me that I know blows hard, I don't let myself get a break in between blows cause it feels worse lol!
Did you add it to your spiritual practice after this experience? It's a wonderful medicine 🙏🏼

Brazilian hapé is the only way to go! I take it everyday although I've never had this tribe's. The ayahuasca they have is a bit different than what I'm used to - fermented like kombucha? Or did you guys have the cooked version later on? Amazing videos btw.!!!! Keep doing what you're doing.

in Venezuela and Colombia there's something called Yopo, which is taken like the rapeh, but it actually contains d.m.t, so imagine the same hit but instead of nicotine you get d.m.t.

Haha, it made me laugh when the shaman said, “another is better”, after you took a hit, and you said, “oh fuck..”. I know what you mean.
After 2 trips to Peru, I bought a self applicator, and bottle of rapé. When I ran out I found a guy Pedro Haremos, that I have bought $100 worth in a big bag, on two occasions. I went off it for a while when I went back to living an unhealthy lifestyle, drinking a lot, and eating junk food, but I’ve just started to eat healthy again, and for the last two weeks, I didn’t drink on week nights and just had maybe a quarter bottle of scotch on Saturday nights. For the first time today, I had rapé again after maybe 6 months of being in a rut. I’m just watching rapé videos, and found yours enjoyable. Thanks for making it.
