The Whitewashing of Neo-Nazis: Lev Golinkin & Ben Makuch on How Far Right Is Exploiting Ukraine War

  • Multiple reports are reinvestigating the neo-Nazi fighters and militias involved in the war both in Russia and Ukraine. "You have neo-Nazis on both sides of this conflict," says Ukrainian American journalist Lev Golinkin, a longtime reporter on the far right in Ukraine and Russia who is critical of the Western media's normalization of groups like the Azov Battalion. "We are sending a very dangerous message that if you're the right type of neo-Nazis, we will not only work with you, we will celebrate you," Golinkin notes.
We also speak with national security reporter Ben Makuch, whose investigations reveal the networks connecting Ukrainian and Russian militias and American neo-Nazis. An anti-Putin Russian militia that carried out attacks inside Russia in May was led by a neo-Nazi who has maintained links with American neo-Nazis. In a new piece, Makuch also shares the story of an American military veteran wanted for murder who is now fighting for ultranationalist groups in Ukraine. "We know there has been secretive pipelines and networks," says Makuch. "That still exists."

PAN is the PASTORAL GREEK GOD aka MOSES. JAH is Jehovah or Yeshiva / Joshua / Judea / Utah. Those roots are traced to KEMET EGYPT and the MOOR MEN. When you think about it... The German NAZI's were said to be red laced "BOOT STOMPERS"... The term "KIKE" derived from "KICK"... As in KICKERS... Red is from the German "Roth". Also Wraith. It's PHONETICS. I was a US Army Signal Technician for many moons in a past persona, before the spirit came over I. Dang alley gay terds and them teeth... REVELATION 9:8 KJV. Gay is GA as in the Free Mason's Square is the "A" and the "G" is the "J-HOOK" and upside down it's the Gallows where Jesus is hanging out on trial in the bottomless pit of Amalek aka Abaddon aka Apollo. King Georgia and those Caucuses Mountains. How can any American be Caucasian? I have never been there, so why would "white americans" claim such roots?

@@comradecracker447 no you have not- because Kharkhiv a metropolis with 1.5 Million inhabitants where over 85% of speakers can speak russian and do so in their day to day lives did not face any opression. Youre making up a false narrative propaganded by putin media. Apparently poor Russian speakers in Donbass were persecuted but the biggest Russian speaking city continued on without any issues?:D To this day a huge chunk of Ukrianian soldiers, commanders speak russian as a first language and speak rudimentary Ukrainian.
Russia invaded in 2014. 2022 was just a full scale invasion. The invasion itself began in 2014 Right after Ukrainians kicked out a pro russian president and canceled the lease on the Sevastopol naval base.
There was no "opression of russians". igor Strelkov (codename Girkin and Runov) who is responsible for the crimean takover as an ex fsb functionaire openly talks about it in his podcasts/talkshows and telegram that it was him who captured military bases and bureacratic buildings in Crimea. The russian "opression" was just a ruse to capture land in an imperialist effort. Dont forget even conservative estimates point to around 100 K dead soldiers (with wagner mercenaries) that are Russians or Rossiyan. 100 thousand dead russians for a war effort of one single party and Siloviki power structure.
Especially since most of the Ukrainian refugees I meet in GERMANY right now speak russian and barely ukrainian. And wanna know who they blame? yes exactly they blame Russia and Putin for destroying their eastern Ukrainian homes. Their parents still speak Russian without an issue. you can go to Kiev and speak russian without an issue as long as youre not a Russian citizen for obvious reasons. Some of the kids have Fathers fighting for Ukraine. some of them lost their whole family (yes some kids are unaccompanied refugees whose parents died in rocket strikes)
Guess what I do? I teach Ukrainian refugees because I am an ethnic russian born to Russian parents. Not a single kid or parent I met are from Western Ukraine. All of them are Russian speakers many of them with Russian family names from Eastern Ukraine that Russia carpet bombs, strikes with artillery and the areas they hold on they mined full on.

While in Ukraine most of society is sick with neo-Nazism. They are supported in every possible way at the state level. In fact we have Blacks, Asians, Latinos, homosexuals, women, all kinds... because they're also into MERITOCRACY. We just hate the privilege given to MINORITIES who don't deserve the wealth, position, and such in society..."

Denazification was not the only reason for the special military operation. The need to respond to NATO that had supported the coup in 2014 and was attacking ethnic Russians in the east was critical. The need to keep Ukraine out of NATO's hands was key. The death of 14,000 or so Russians by the rightwing was also important. Russia did not have to grasp to find reasons to intervene. The Ukrainian right and its Western supporters gave it many reasons to act.

it was called out a long time ago? But its only a small percent of the population (just like in the EU and US), they're not doing 'nazi things' as part of the war, they're willing to fight alongside the unicorn battalion and under the command of a Jewish president, and the incoming threat is too great for infighting. Basically Ukraine has a boat, and there are some really bad people on the boat. And the boat catches fire, and a bucket brigade forms, including some of those bad people, 'cause they'll burn up right alongside everyone else if they don't. And when the fire started everyone looked (yes, you'll find plenty of articles on this) and said 'hey... those people are bad'. And then everyone gained some sanity and said 'buuuuut... maybe Now is not the moment for that and, as long as they don't do bad stuff, we can deal with that when the boat is Not on fire. Doesn't mean we'll tolerate them doing bad things, they'll have to fall in line, and they are falling in line. But lets focus on the fire'.
What I'm more curious about, timing wise, is why this story (that was very well covered at the start of the war, when Putin tried to change the story about the invasion to be 'oh, we're there to fight nazi') surfaced up right now. At the start of Ukraine's offensive, while Putin's top ranks are being decimated and military is in confusion, while Crimea is being cut off for a potential liberation, and while Russia is targeting grain ships and ports that are shipping food to starving nations. Almost like a sudden distraction?

That's an excuse that makes things go in circles.
E.g. The war started 10 years ago in 2014. Pro-EU protesters in Kiev overthrew the government by violent means. In response protests in Odessa, Kherson, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia, etc overthrew their local governments and demanded referendums to secede. They didnt want a war either, but were given an ultimatum by the Ukrainian goverment..the speratists chose not to, so the Ukrainian gov decided to use military force, which kicked off a civil war. Then Russia gave ultimatums to end the civil war, Ukraine chose not to, so Russia interviewed.
2022 was the inevitable escalation of an 8 year old war. Now Russia is the most sanctioned country in the world, stuck in a quagmire, losing a lot of lives.
It's a never ending circle of death, that all started when violence broke out at the Maidan Protest, and I'm willing to bet those Neo-Nazis were a key component to help spark that initial violence that is now a semi fullscale war (yes, this is not fullscale yet, and it can get worse, as in WW3 and nuclear winter worse)

UKRAINE FACTS: SO WHO ARE THE NAZIS? the RUSSIAN PEOPLE COLLECTIVELY THERE ARE NO NAZIS IN UKRAINE AS ALL THE WORLD JEWISH ORGAINSATIONS PROCLAIM.
ONE MILLION RUSSIANS FOUGHT IN NAZI UNIFORM IN WWII... 130,000 AS WAFFEN SS. see RONA, VLASOV, RLA (russian liberation army) Von Pannwitz etc.
Add to that another 2 million russian "HIWIS" "Hilfswillige" = (translates as "willing to help" from German) non-uniformed RUSSIAN auxillaries to the Germans.
TODAY'S RUSSIAN DUMA "parliament" is literally 87% Neo- Nazi Ultra-right Nationalist such as the United Russia Party- Putin's own party. Its former head, Zhirinovsky, was a self-affirming neo-Nazi...one needs only to google the russian parliament's own website to see this in one minute
Putin's GURU- his spiritual advisor is the [neo-] NAZI, ALEXANDER DUGIN who calls for a FINAL SOLUTION to the "Ukrainian Problem" i.e. another FINAL GENOCIDE TO WIPE OUT THE UKRAINIANS ENTIRELY. He actually writes this...Uses Hitler's words...This is all visible in his writings which putin largely plagiarized in his Essay of July 2021 negating the very existence of the Ukrainian people and nation.
So who are the "NAZIS"? NOT UKRAINIANS
      IN CONTRAST:
There were a mere 22,000 Ukrainians who fought in German uniform- to free Ukraine. (Galizien Division etc btw almost all annihilated in just one battle- Brody, 1944- thrown as cannon fodder to shelter the German lines.)
France had 22,000, in German uniform, the TINY nations of Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Holland, Denmark had twice that number EACH... not to mention Spain etc.
there are 2440 Righteous among the Nations Ukrainians honored in Jerusalem for saving Jews...but a mere 220 russians....
Ukraine lost 14 million people in WWII 8 million military & 6 million civilian..
ALL THE OTHER 14 SOVIET SOCIALIST REPUBLICS ALL TOGETHER LOST THE OTHER 9 MILLION INCLUDING SOME PLACE CALLED, "russia" UKRAINE ALONE LOST 150% OF WHAT THEY LOST ALL TOGETHER.
UKRAINIANS DESTROYED HITLER'S INVASION AND THEY WILL DESTROY PUTLER's too.
No other people on earth did as much to destroy Nazi Germany and therefore to save the Jewish people from the Holocaust as did Ukrainians.
Ukrainians LIBERATED AUSCHWITZ AND ALL THE NAZI CAMPS IN THE EAST. A couple hundred Ukrainians served as camp guards so the russians have spread this SMEAR thickly ALL OVER UKRAINIANS and the entire western media has taken up the chorus:
The SAVIORS OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE are smeared as the murderers of the Jewish people.
Petlyura, who forbade the MOSCOW-ORDERED POGROMS was smeared and murdered under the same defamation. So freedom fighters for Ukraine, Ukrainian leaders- all Nazis! ...ALL UKRAINIANS= "NAZIS"
ONE AND ONE WORD ONLY IS EVER MENTIONED AND RINGS OUT ALL OVER THE WEST IN REGARD TO NAZIS/ NAZI COLLABORATORS: UKRAINE!
Why? because the word "Ukraine" must always be linked to a smear or defamatory word because the very idea of Ukraine is ANATHEMA COLLECTIVELY TO ALL RUSSIANS & must be defamed. This has been going on all over the West since tsarist times, when Ukraine was falsely smeared as anti-Semitic... then, even after UKRAINE PLAYED THE PRIMARY ROLE IN DEFEATING GERMANY as Churchill wrote... the SMEAR WORD OF CHOICE remained & remains "Nazi."
Bandera spent 1941-45 in a Nazi German prison dungeon yet RUSSIANS CALL HIM A NAZI.
All the Western fellow travelers of socialism parroted the words of the Kremlin. When socialism imploded there, this overwhelming 5th column in the West holding the mainstream media, Hollywood etc was disoriented but simply transferred their allegiance to the new rulers of their former Vatican- to russia. So whatever russia said they parrot(ed) and wrote/write in all the media.
At the end of the film, "Schindler's List," Spielberg, whose 4 grandparents were UKRAINIAN, SMEARED Ukraine... No inkling that Ukrainians liberated the Jewish people... instead a boor lazily ambles up to the camp on a mule all alone... and starts spouting anti-semitic epithets and tropes... & "HATE- SPEECH." All according to the Russian narrative/ scenario. It says: Russia defeated Germany, Ukraine had nothing to do in the war except fight together with Nazis and murder Jews...
When under Yeltsin a posthumous Nuremberg Trial for all the Socialist Genociders was planned- it was cancelled... not in the post-socialist CIS countries...
      BUT
by all the LEFTIST screams and howls FROM THE WEST to crush that idea. There are still lots of these voices of these snakes, still talking- Mearscheimer, Vladimir Posner, Stephen Cohen, Noam Chomsky, Oliver Stone et al... ALL OF UKRAINIAN ORIGIN yet, all toxic SMEARERS OF UKRAINE to this very day.
As russia bombs Ukraine they smear Ukraine.... When putin takes a big shit, that stinking shit takes on human form and starts talking... pro- russian GENOCIDAL turds pontificating for putin & against Ukraine, speaking lies, Mearsheimer. Posner, Tucker, Tulsi Gabbard, Oliver Stone et al...
The "Nazi" smear is very effective and for progressives is the smear of choice & predilection in the West...
HOWEVER, with the present RUSSIAN RENEWED GENOCIDE in Ukraine, most but not all of the very people who concretized the smearing of Ukraine- distilling everything to do with Ukraine into 2 words: Nazi & Jew-Killer- have experienced a sea-change and are now supporting Ukraine.
Not even the leaders and intelligentsia of Ukraine are informed of the true history of Ukraine... they were still raised on russian narratives...

No. Your tax money is going to a military that's specked to fight the three largest enemies on earth at the same time, which is US doctrine. Russia was one of those three. Your money went to taking down that country's military, in the middle of its expanding and increasing threat (as it tried to re-establish the USSR while destabilizing western democracies through cyber attacks and disinformation campaigns), without a single US boot on the ground (Ukrainians are doing the dying for us), and mostly by moving out our old equipment that we were mothballing or replacing anyway.
Or, if you prefer morality over military practicality, your tax money went to defending innocent women and children that were and are being injured, bombed, executed, kidnapped, and r***d by Russian invaders.
Or, if you prefer economic practicality over both, your tax money is going toward supporting one of Europe's breadbowl nations as its being invaded and leveled by Russia, so that its food can continue to feed people in Africa. Which keeps African nations from further destabilizing, which would have a cascading economic and migration effect in the middle of an escalating climate crisis.

I generally oppose the supply of weapons (there are certainly different views and opinions on this), but when I saw this. I guess the best way to describe my feelings is cognitive dissonance.
Out of personal interest, I have been privately involved with the world and its conflicts for some time.
Because I live in Germany myself and I hear many of our politicians, what and how they argue in terms of domestic and foreign policy, their behavior makes me very afraid of even further escalation. Especially Germany, which otherwise always bicks on its own history....

Im a spätaussielder in full solidarity with Ukraine until they liberate every piece of their soil according to the 1991 borders that were ratified. Any other position is non negotiable.
And by the way Bandera lived in WestGermany in Munich after the war 1945. We gave him political asylum. While OUN-B was commiting warcrimes bandera wasnt even in the leadership position he was incarcerated in a concentration camp. Our german hosptials routinely were used to treat dictators and right wing politicians including russian right wing politicians that went to Munich and co for healthcare. So some Ukrianian working class solider being dumb enough to Put out a flag is inconsequential. Whats consequential is the constant shelling, rocket striking, deportation of children from Ukraine commited by the RF.

To agree with this in concrete terms, I have so far been too little involved with Voctor Orban's policies and demands. In addition, governments with, as I have already noticed, a critical attitude to the questions of how to deal with refugees, or when it comes to Ukraine, are presented - framed - as "fundamentally politically right-wing". If people then share here even partially their opinions on certain topics, these citizens are also considered right-wing.
Thus, it is even difficult to discuss reasonably and objectively about the theses and proposals of such politicians.
I think my perceived cognitive dissonance becomes even clearer here...

Talking about promoters of hate ideologies, Amy Goodman has on many occasions made comments or accusations that indicate a latent Ukrainophobe streak in her that was likely adopted from the extreme left milieu she grew up in. So there's little surprise that she keeps inviting reporters who themselves are very biased to report on their very limited and one-sided "investigations" of certain groups or individuals as they are directed to do by their corporate bosses.
Golinkin, for example, takes every biographical fact he comes across and gives it a false, extreme right spin. For example Prokopenko's youth can in no way be subsumed by the description "the Kyiv soccer hooligan milieu." It's true that he belonged to the fans of the Kyiv soccer team Dynamo which was called not "whites boys" but the "white-blues" which are the colors of the Dynamo team (how ignorant can Golinkin get?!). Some Russian propagandist inserted that lie in Wikipedia and lazy Golinkin gobbled that up without any further research. The totenkopf sign is one of the most common symbols among clubs throughout the world and having that symbol does not make them neo-Nazi since that symbol was widely used centuries before the Nazis, as for example by ship pirates. Are all the motorcycle clubs with that symbol fascist? Just because some Russian propagandist said that Azov was a neo-Nazi gang doesn't make them such. If someone calls Golinkin a neo-Bolshevik does that make it so? Did Golinkin observe and meet with members of Azov in 2014 when they started? No, his reliance on prejudiced sources suffices for this cheap hater. Zelensky didn't simply take the 5 Azov commanders out of Turkey, rather Erdogan handed them over to him. Everyone knows this except Golinkin.
What makes Azov and similar groups in Ukraine neo Nazi? Can he find a single word of praise of Hitler or the Nazis anywhere in their literature? No, because there isn't. Do they have the swastika on any banner of even letterhead? No. The symbol they use is a combination of the initials of the words I for idea of the nation (N) arranged in the medieval symbol for catching wolves. Had they wanted to be neo Nazis they would have taken a more common Nazi symbol rather one that was barely used by some minor group which most likely was entirely unknown to them. Their ideology is nationalistic but does not preach wiping out any group. Golinkin is coming from a place of enormous prejudice to Ukrainian nationalism. He most likely learned to look askance at Ukrainians and considered himself a Soviet with Ukrainian identity coming only very recently. This whole video is worthless misinformation serving solely to propagate hatred and bias.

Although they don't cover this topic in great detail for obvious reasons, they provide accurate information about what's actually happening and what has been happening in Ukraine and have done so for years. Also The New Atlas, Mark Sleboda and others.

And every sane adult knows that if you're fighting for your life and your family, and one of those twits is willing to pick up a gun and fight beside you to protect Their family? You don't start shooting at them, and you don't throw up the white flag and go 'oh wait, if this guy's fighting I'm not going to!' or start throwing a tantrum that your war is no longer 'cool'. What we really need to hope for is that most of em get killed in action. The nightmare scenario in my mind is one of them surviving, becoming a war hero then getting involved in politics. There are extremists in every military… who would’ve thought the ones that work forces sometimes are the same that burn crosses!? Imagine how many hate groups are in the Russian military? I think the over sensationalism of this issue plays into Russias propaganda narrative. Propaganda doesn’t mean it’s untrue though. These two experts may be right about these undesirables being a problem but let them help stop the full genocidal demolition bombing of Ukrainian neighbourhoods for the time being then after the war deal with em.. This isn’t Afghanistan. This most likely small minority of extremists in the Ukrainian military don’t have lawless remote villages and cave networks to hide in forever….
