If you're going to carry on upgrading your car I would highly recommend the wide screen Pro nav. Completely transforms the interior. You can sell the original screen and this combined with the higher resale value of having the pro nav it won't cost you anything. There really easy to fit as well.

No need to correct him. If you are ready to spread your thoughts over the internet, be sure you know exactly what are you talking about, especially when you are so specific on topic you chose to chat. This guy clearly did not understand (at the moment) what he is opting and why. So therefore he not a good driver if he does not know his needs.
I hate to be that guy in the comments but in an open dif the wheels get an equal amount of torque hence the one wheel slip being caused by unequal traction and with an LSD slip is limited by providing more torque to the the wheel with the greater traction. :)
What else you changed or adapted after installing? Any coding or change of dome modules?

I just installed a Lincoln locker on my rear diff. Fist full of 5/32” 7018 rod. That’s how you achieve an even 50/50 torque split drift diff.
Nah, you just weld it if drifting is your goal.
If my M140i wasnt going back in May I would consider the LSD. I've skipped a few heart beats during this ownership when the back end has fishtailed a little

Open diff - the torq goes to wheel of least resistance ie. when going on a right hand turn, the driver side rear wheel has less weight on it, so all the power will go to that wheel (causing it to spin more) -> if lsd in that situation the power will be 50:50 so the passenger side wheel will get power, aiding you around the corner- like a pivot. Nice video!

Well it's not like that, Standard M performance LSD should have about 30% locking, and on the contrary when you go around the corner it will cause the car to slightly understeer if pushed a bit more. LSDs with more than 30% locking, so usually 50-50% are just used for drifting. But with performance LSD you'll have more traction when accelerating. Also it's important to understand that on the standard M LSD will lock only on power ( to my knowledge I could be wrong a little). Aftermarket LSDs are different in the way they achieve locking.

No need for coding. Just instal and you are good to go.

I got my MP Diff for 1800 as my mate is a tech & used his discount.
Also a Quaife LSD will still spin its power away with one wheel in the air.

Quaife is another cheaper alternative to M-Performance.

that engineer is a good guy serviced my wifes M2 il be taking my M4 to harwoods for its major in november
FWI 2200 is still expensive for this job and diff. You can get the diff for about 1800 through the forums if I remember correctly, and fitting should only cost you something like 100-150 from your dealership. That puts a decent price at something like 1900-2000 not 2200.
Omar M Khalil fitting is more about 300-500€, same in UK probably

No M140i's come with DCT. They are either manual or ZF8. Only the full M cars get the M DCT's.

Wow what a terrible description and incorrect. An open diff sends more power to a wheel that is loosing traction thus creating that crazy wheel spin and no movement. A limited slip diff sends more power to the wheel that has traction when one looses traction.
That price is very high and absolutely not worth it
When you are breaking over 400hp it's worth it.
Anyone who likes this, or agrees, should take up rollerblading or golf.

If you have the BMW M diff fitted at a BMW dealership, then no it's an official upgrade.
Anything else then yes, it voids the warranty.
Wud love to no how much spent on this car so far on the upgrades

Luke, could you comment on whether you experience any understeer as a result of this modification in your next video? I think alot of m140i owners would appreciate your view on that. Great video, looking forward to the next. Oh and I read that you need to get your alignment redone after a lsd install, not sure how true that is.

ace walsall get at Quaife mate , check out Birds Bmw diff exchange program, life time warranty, never go wrong because they don’t have a clutch like the M sport diff , best diffs Barr none

Cars looking good. Just wondering why you didn’t go for a better spec like sunroof, pro nav etc
I think pro nav completely makes the car. The smaller screen with plastic either side looks so tacky. Good news though u can retrofit them really easily. Makes it look so much better. You'll get your money back once you've sold the original screen and the extra in resale value.

I keep hearing about these special tools, what are they to get the shafts out.
They are called prybars. No need for a £700 pound speical tool, if you know what you’re doing. I’m having mine fitted soon 😅

Very Bad🤨 On a car like that it Needs it.
My Focus ST is running a bluefin remap, And I really need one I can’t even use the power from 1st or Second gear, I prefer to catch ppl out on a roll in 3rd from no lower than 35mph. My prob is that map delivers all of its power in one big lump, prior to lockdown I was thinking of getting one put in at Mountune.
But post Lockdown it seems the only car I really need is a Nissan Leaf 😭

I just cannot get my head round why you sold your golf which was perfect and have now thrown a shed load of money at this BMW just to make it better! Mental IMO.
Give it a rest. Golf's are boring and shite and easy to drive. His 140 has pretty much cosmetic 'upgrades' nothing to increase bhp. He did exactly the same with the golf previously

Because ultimately luke will end up with a better car. These mlites are not full fat m cars but carefully selected mods can get them 95% there for a lot less money. Keep up the great content luke.

LSD Should of been stock on this car.
My old 2006 Nissan 350z had standard LSD, and it still produced 235kw. Almost criminal a modern rwd sports car like this doesn't have it.

I think you did it in vain because there are already 3 kinds of Differential, you just put on the biggest one and the M-performance diff is not something extra but after the real M 🤷🏼♂️

You do realise that the diff has to be supplied, not just magically installed? Labour costs are only a fraction of the cost, especially compared to the cost to supply the LSD...
