- Hey all,
In this video we go to Birds Auto in Iver, where we get the Birds Quaife ATB Differential installed! We also meet up with Defined Coding to do a few tweaks to the XHP TCU flash he completed previously!
The Quaife ATB will be tested/reviewed further in a few more videos so feel free to comment with any questions you may have and I'll try my best to answer them especially during my track day coming up in a few weeks time!

I follow MarkCup70 aswell,without his knowledge he basically turned me from going for a RS focus to the 140 manual. You two produce two totally different contents on the same car in complete opposite styles. Great for me the viewer to get info on our brilliant little wolf’s in sheep’s clothing as standard (apart from the diff that is Mark that you got for a bargain). I haven’t a scooby doo how RUclips works advertising your channel but have to agree- Tim your a natural in front of the lens and a funny fxxker to 🤣 good luck to you fella 👍
Anthony h he’s a top gent! I love his videos as he gives a proper insight and makes great viewing! My only qualm is that he doesn’t make content often but I think that’s what makes you sit up and listen even more when he does release a video!

Oh I figured it out! 🤦🏻♂️ it’s the bearing swap if your mileage is high.
Thought you said you didn’t need one now it’s the best mod you can do. The M Perf diff plates don’t wear out as fast as you said on the video.
David Bolton I don’t need one for the stage 1/2 can handle it but with the plans I’ve got for the car and the fact that I take it on track 4/5 times a year makes things a lot more fun and planted for me

What did you mean about the one wheel in the air ? Where you saying the M-performance was better for that, or was quaffe offering something else ? Also how much was the diff fitted ?
Quaife acts like open diff with one wheel in air
Wavetracks selling point is they are an ATB diff that works 100% of the time
Although i have M-Performance diff & most BMW's use Drexler plated/clutched diffs.
Never heard of anybody having to replace diff plates/clutches on any modern BMW tbh unless you spend years doing donuts.
Chris Murphy true, but you should very rarely find yourself with one of your driven wheels completely in the air long enough to make any significant difference, when using the car on the road or occasional track use.
For the extra outlay on a wavetrac or m performance i couldn't justify it due to the fact the m140i is a car i wouldn't track hard enough to kerb hob and get a wheel in the air and on uk roads/weather i doubt i'd be in a position where i would need both wheels to spin at the same time...with the quaife i get loads more traction in wet and more controlled/progressive slides when i break traction on purpose .. bmw drexler diff would have been my second choice but having driven cars with both i can't tell a difference apart from the bmw can snap into a drift a fraction of a second quicker due to the 30% locking plates

Both very similar, if just road I would say quaife..if going on track too then I’d say m performance

Hi mate getting mine fitted next week does the car drift pretty good with quaife as I have some research and they say m performance one is best to do drifts in
Both are great but for drifting you probably want a clutch plated diff

Don't waist your money on the Birds suspension. Go for the B12 kit. In my opinion it's a better mod than when I had my Quaife diff fitted. Although the diff was so much more money.
I’ve been out in it bro, it’s a well balanced set up for day to day driving and fast road...I’m after track type handling and already have eibach springs so not sure if I’ll add the b8 struts to make the b12 or get the b14s although I heard it’s the same damper but just adjustability which in that case I’ll get B8s and keep the springs...
