M3/M4 Lower Control Arms are a MUST have!
100% agree. Front end is so much more direct and the steering weights up with speed and turning effort. Added caster really helps the self centring/steering effect too.

I had birds fit an LSD to my m240i 3 weeks after I bought the car. Such a great service and they fitted it in a flash. Never looked back. I’ve done other mods since but the diff is mandatory to finishing the car off.

Had a B1 full kit with LSD done a few year's back fixed the problems you mentioned even at 30mph if
you hit a drain cover. As the original Birds article said, turned the car from 1 wheel drive to 2 wheel drive, with the Quaife LSD.

Great video, I had a stage 3a s14a that I put nismo s-tune suspension on that was developed for the car. That was a damper set up and I had whiteline arbs. The coilover boys would not see were I went on a b road. So pleased, I did the same when i bought an e46 m3. Same again, a bilstien damper kit you could get for that, and again, great road car, good everywhere speed bump friendly. Yes you dont get the "stance" with only a sublte drop on both but they really worked well. Dont get seduced by coilovers they are not the only option.
Powerflex bushes, underbody+strut brace and big brake kit and the car will be mint
@@Ukgyt99 depends what stage/bhp you running, it makes a difference but nothing too crazy from what I've seen
@@Ukgyt99 if you've uprated the subframe bushes. Then yes. Do it rather than later. The diff bushes are known being weak and often crack

@@Ukgyt99 Nah the powerflex bushes and strut feel like day to day driving would be annoyingly stiff
M sport blue brakes 4pot are just fine with a good set of pads and discs, running 580 on my 240i and it's fine tbh spend the money on more power 👍

B12 sport kit on my e90, transformed the car, one of the best handling cars I’ve driven, shame the newer BMWs have lost that steering feel and handling aspect

Looks like a nice set-up. I prefer shocks and springs for the roads any days they just have a better car feel on the rubbish surface's. Especially when you have spent the money on new one ones or something like these uprated ones. I currently running bilsteins as I like to stay German on my 46.
That's looks a sweet garage too. I've been in the BMW seceme for 15yrs plus (Started with the fords and vdubs) they always get a mention but never seen how nice their workshop is. A sound knowledgeable guy is key too. Being in the trade too There aren't many places that I'd take a car. I can forgive he made us miss the workshop work and start up. Give him the camera next time Ricky or get food orders in 👌

I have this package on my 330d e92 funny thing is its actually 10mm lower than the M sport suspension I literally have a 5mm arch gap on the car but it handles better than M cars on uk B roads

The suspension kit is around £1550, if you want a similar let up for less then the Bilstein B12 kit can be had for around £550. The diff is around £1800.

It was on lowering springs, the birds set up doesn’t lower the car
@@mralekos I felt the same with my Birds B1 install on my m140, in fact it looked to sit higher than stock which I couldn't get on with and after trying to live with it for a while eventually kept the B1 dampers and bump stops and replaced springs with Motech Eibachs, after which it looked spot on and still handles great on the road.
@@samtrex600 Ricky’s car will be higher because of the 19’s. But from centre of axle to arch it would be stock. Occasionally they do go up a fraction (talking a couple of mm’s) but that’s on cars that have done more than 50,000 miles, springs to sag with age and use and dampers start to fail. The motec eibachs are the same as off the shelf Eibachs.
@@mralekos not true in my case, my car had done 9k miles when I had it done. After I raised the issue (no pun intended)James even confirmed that the batch of springs being used at did seem to sit higher, it is a shame as I had the B1 on an m135i and it sat perfectly, probably 10mm lower than stock. Anyway its no big deal, my fault for not asking about ride height impact before getting it done. The car still drives brilliantly with the B1 dampers, Quaife LSD and Motech Eibachs.

Birds mine and had absolutely no grip car was all over the place phoned them and they then tried to say it was tyres lol took it to 2 independent specialist and also BMW who said it was wound too tight. So one wheel should be going one way and one the other way with a quaife but both wheels were going in same direction. Waste of time and money. Quaife ripped out and M Performance put in

RUclips have stopped recommending his videos so even if you are subbed to LLF it's rare if u recieve a notification so he's taking a break from that channel for a while..don't blame him tho all the hours of filming and editing that go into that channel ..RUclips have done this to many well known channels in the last 7months ..I'm sure many more will feel it soon
