      @@GamerHeavenOfficial honestly Kevin, great video mate. I was stuck between the edge, razer wolverine and possibly the Victrix Pro bfg for competitive PS5 play. Thank god I didn’t buy the razer one. Patiently waiting for the Victrix review, I’m almost set on it but I need the Controller Captain seal of approval!
      One more thing if you don’t mind mate, I recently commented on your overclocking tutorial but I can imagine it got lost in translation. If you overclock the polling rate of a controller on a PC would the improved input lag also travel over to the console when you plug the controller back in? I reckon the answer is no but I thought it would be worth an ask.

    Let’s keep it real. Nobody buying a pro controller to get adaptive triggers or speakers in the controller. You’re buying a pro controller to play shooters like cod warzone Fortnite apex etc. So I don’t care about not having that in a 300 250 or a 200 controller. My only concerns are the rear paddles and clicky triggers. Everything else is whatever. I also don’t care about a carrying case. I don’t even know where my case is for my scuf controller. If I could try this controller out before buying and I liked it I would buy it. But since I got a scuf I probably wouldn’t. Still looks like a solid controller imo

    I bought mine with the Razer warranty. Over 300 dollars but I would pay a premium for controller comfort. I love offset sticks, it just comfortable to me. Didn’t play my ps5 for months because my left thumb would just hurt because of that stretch. I love the feel of the controller, I’m going to be straight with everyone I bought the controller JUST for the stick placement alone. The extra buttons I’m goinna have to figure out what can I do with them. I take my gaming serious and I want to be comfortable. • @s00swizzy
    @s00swizzy 9 месяцев назад +2

    Biggest problem for this controller is the thumb sticks. As he said in the video, compared to the dual sense, the range of motion on the sticks, even with the included extended thumb stick, is way less. Couple this with the fact that you cant use kontrol freeks on it, and you're stuck with only one option which is to relearn your aim if coming from a dual sense. I also tried filing down some of my kontrol freeks to make them fit on the sticks, and while they did fit after modifications, the range of motion of the sticks are still not great because of how they are built. You either have to make your thumb stick super tall by adding a tall control freak onto the included taller stick which feels horrible and like you're driving an 18 wheeler, or you have to suffer from lack of range of motion because the stick doesn't protrude far enough from the anti friction rings. Its sad cut the rest of the controller is amazing, especially the extra shoulder buttons.

    • @ramitaha1370
      @ramitaha1370 8 месяцев назад

      That’s actually how they’re meant to be used. If u remember when razer released the Xbox wolverine ultimate with the same exact configuration, they meant to have the 2 “paddles” at the top be the buttons next to the triggers, and the 2 bottom “paddles” be the bottom paddle buttons of the controller. The two paddle buttons on top of it were meant to be used sparingly, with the auto config. Back then being to increase or decrease sensitivity while they were pressed down for more precise aim. They were by no means meant to be used to jump or build or anything that would require constant clicking. That’s just my two cents.

It's way too expensive for what you get. Should at least come with a case. The build quality feels pretty good to me though. It feels premium in my opinion. It is kinda light but I think that's just because it has no vibration motors. It's very comfortable in my hands but the back buttons are awkward to hit. They are not unusable but will definitely take some getting used to. It is much more comfortable than a dualsense. All the buttons and sticks feel really good. It's a nice controller and I'm pretty happy with it, it's just very overpriced. I think it should be 180 tops but I was willing to pay for the Xbox layout. It's just much more comfortable to me. I really think this could of been the perfect controller for ps5 if they would of designed back paddles a little better. I have a aim dualsense also and this is much better. I'll be selling the aim to a buddy. This razer feels close to an elite 2 which in my opinion might be the most comfortable controller ever made. If it lasts me 2 to 3 years I'll be happy.

    Appreciate the video, was considering this controller but the lacking ergonomics are just going to have to make me skip this. I don't want a controller with back buttons that are that much of a pain to press. I will be awaiting your Victrix Pro BFG controller, I've been interested in that one for a while now too. My issue with the Edge is that I just really want 4 of those paddles, they just had to go with 2. I'm still excited to see how it will be though.
    I would have been happy with my Pro controllers had the Xbox Elite V2 not been such a disappointment. I've exchanged 10 of those hoping to find one that would reliably register face buttons on non centered input, aside of all the other issues it has. But I eventually stopped and here I am. Hope Victrix Pro BFG is the one worth getting. Appreciate the content, keep it up Thanks!

    I just received my Razer controller and I should have done more research before buying. I am returning this immediately. On my PS5 I only play mainly single player story driven games, and this controller is missing key PlayStation features that I was not aware of that I must have. I wanted this to be my only PS5 controller and this is not it. The controller feels good in my hands. I like the Xbox style sticks, but there is no vibration, I like the click sounding buttons, but for $250 the tradeoff is not worth it. I assume the battery life has to be better than my standard PS5 controllers since there is no vibration, no haptic feedback, and I kind of like being able to remove the rear paddles which this one doesn't allow. It is just best to return it and wait for Sony's Pro controller.

    Pre-ordered it and well it's not good. Where to start, the white indicater bar only lights up on the left side instead of the full bar, the white light and blue light appear on at the same time event though the controller is on wired and pc mode when the ps5 is off and I have it charging, then the yellow indicator light rapidly flashes after its fully charged. The manual gives no insight and the app support is lacking. However, using it on cod vs the scuf reflex fps the razer is super sensitive which can be good or bad just depends on the user. I have contacted razer and have a case open. I don't know if you have the same issue with the light bar being lit up? Great review.

      Update: case is not closed I opted to get my money back after speaking and emailing razer about the issue, however, no one could answer my questions about the issues I was having with the controller. Come the 14th Dec 22 I was given a shipping label to send it in and at 0900 hrs the 15th Dec dropped off the package to ship at about 1100hrs razer emailed me to hold off from sending it. I gave them a call and unfortunately, it was too late. Razer support was unable able to specify a reason and after about 10 to 15 min on hold they stated that it was a wrong shipping label and nothing more. A little bit suspicious because the label first provided was still going to razer and I specified that I would given them the tracking number provided, however, it was met with a script. In the end The controller is going back for a refund. Also for some odd reason they mentioned about updating to controller which we are unable to do via the phone app or pc.

    This is so incredibly disappointing to hear tbh. The Dualsense is my least favorite modern controller of all time, and it's incredibly uncomfortable for me personally as it's too big for my hands and I've been absolutely desperate for a third party controller to come out since it's released (any ideas on why Sony's been not letting 3rd party's release for so long?). The Razer and the Victrix have caught my attention since I like back paddles, and the Razer looked like the one I wanted, so to hear it's uncomfortable and hard to hit the back buttons is really sad. Really excited to see your Victrix review whenever it comes out!

    Of all the controllers you feature, this is one of the ones I want to see torn down the most. What're they using for the mech switches, what're they using for the microcontroller and wireless chip, how's the dpad implemented, etc. For example, what makes Razer's switches better than other controller switches that aren't just a membrane dome.
    I find 8-way dpads interesting, but for reasons other than how they'll always be implemented. I wish game engines had a discrete input for 45°s, rather than mixed 90°+90°s, this way with a discrete 45° you can get mixed 22.5°s from 45°+90°s. I know, limited use case, pain in the ass to physically implement, especially with poor dpad designs, etc., I just wish we could have these additional inputs, because more inputs are always better when they make sense. Oh well, at least the Steam Controller existed and I can give myself this 8-way dpad with additional 8 mixed inputs with some work, and much more.
    As for the clutch mode, I can somewhat understand it from a PC perspective. It's no different than a mouse DPI switch, which has been marketed to us for what, decade and a half, two decades now? I remember Mad Catz was the first to go all in on the marketing of this with the original R.A.T., or was the OG the M.O.U.S.E, I know rat is the series that lived on but I do remember at least one model holding the mouse name. Back in the days when MMO mice were the main gimmick on the market, before we started getting trackpoints under the thumb, extra buttons along the main mouse button, DPI switches, etc. You can have the exact same performance arguments for mouse DPI switches as you do with the stick clutch feature, you could also make similar arguments for using fine gyro movement along with coarse stick movement. Honestly I think it only really exists for when you have super high stick sensitivity, the kind where you can do a whole camera flick with minimal stick input, then use the clutch when you don't need a flick during aiming. It just comes down to personal preference.
    I have a feeling that some features are also Sony first party exclusive. Look at all the third party PS5 controllers coming out, do any of them have haptic engines or the force feedback triggers? Similar to Xbox and their rumble triggers. Though it looks like Flydigi's Apex 3 might have an alternative to force feedback triggers, though it's not a PS5 controller and they're a mobile-oriented company, so I'm not sure how exactly they're implementing them _if_ they are force feedback, it's hard to tell as their marketing is garbage and they're too niche to get wide exposure; but I would think that realistically only PS5 has force feedback implementation due to proprietary API and game engine implementation, unless mobile has started doing something similar.
    I don't trust the claimed battery life numbers. We all know companies use the absolute most efficient usage to fudge those numbers. I wouldn't be surprised if those numbers are just with the controller on and idle, no gaming, no connections, just on and sitting, either with RGB on or off. I'd expect those numbers to drop once you do start gaming, especially with the phone app connected to it, and with vibration turned on; we all know motors kill battery life, reason why the DS5 has such a short battery cycle, probably reason why this controller, and other third party controllers, won't have force feedback triggers nor advanced haptic engines.
    I'm a bit surprised, with the hyperspeed wireless bullshit going on, that Razer isn't back on their 8khz polling bullshit again. Glad to see they're as inconsistent as ever. Not that it matters, I just find it funny how they continually jump ship every time they release something 'new.' Now watch, hyperspeed wireless won't make a return, because Razer consistency. If hyperspeed really is any faster than any other discrete 2.4ghz connection.
    I also find it a bit funny how this is just an Xbox controller in Sony clothing. Touchpad and licensing aside, this literally is just an Xbox controller. Speaking of non-Xbox features, does this even have gyro? I can't find any information on if it does or not. Bit odd if it's missing, since Sony loves their SixAxis. All the more reason to call it an Xbox controller anyways. Although these might just be quirks of the PC mode, as it is an actual Xinput device while in this mode; I'd like to see these same tests using it as a PS5 controller though, see if the Sony side of things unlocks it or not. Though that being said, that touchpad isn't going to show up on PC due to Xinput not having overhead for it, which means if you configure this in Steam Input you can't map it to additional functions, another thing that using it in PS5 mode would change. Even the naming of this indicates it's an Xbox controller at its core, I would've expected the PS5 controllers to carry the Raiju naming or some new naming scheme; maybe this was a tactical approach to it, the third party PS5 controller market isn't big yet, this might have been a planned failure that can revert to an Xinput device for when it does fail in the PS5 market.
    Though, I don't entirely trust Razer, or at all actually. They've always been plagued with QC issues, and on top of that customer service issues as well. Min is an absolute cock and will mobilize his rabid fanbase against someone who disagrees with him, who also participates in deceptive practices and shady marketing, and will outright lie about things just to make himself or his company look better; how about a three-hundred something dollar chroma mug, yet it's 'free' because you can only buy it via their made up digital currency, yet when you publicly ask why a damn mug is so expensive he'll belittle you about how you're complaining about a 'free' mug and sic his rabid fanbase on you within a public forum- and that's just one example, keep in mind that LTT/Linus also mostly cut ties with this man and his company. And they're still forcing software, of which Razer has a super, super scummy and shady history with software; remember when they had their own digital currency, remember when they had a game launcher that was a miner for said currency, remember all the times they'll harvest your data to sell it off? Oh and let's not forget their THX buyout, which only exists to make bullshit certifications so that they can cut corners to avoid licensing Dolby; funny, I wonder why this controller doesn't have a mic and speaker, to go with the headphone jack, with the suite of make-believe THX certifications, just like their other audio products have. Oh and remember when they were in the wearables market, guess who was harvesting more than just digital footprint data, and guess who dropped out of said market when they weren't competing with larger brands. Between a shit CEO, shit QC, and shit software with shitty practices, I just can't trust them for anything.

    Problem with all razer controllers is the thumb sticks. I don’t know if it’s the lack of tension, lack of range of motion or in built deadzones but they have just always felt off to me. It’s really hard to do precise movements with these.
