    Well….guess I can toss my straight edge. I’m 70 and have never purposefully drawn an imperfect line in my life. And not using pencil to start? I’ll have to get a prescription for Valium. This looks like it might make my sketching (such that it is) fun! Thanks so much for sharing your expertise, Scottie.

    It's absolutely fascinating to watch you take such a complex subject and work on it line by line in such a relaxed manner. I love that your approach is so laid back and that it ends in something so delightful. Thank you so much for sharing this.

    I’ve supported myself quite well as a fine artist now for 45 years and there’s always something new and challenging one can learn if you humble yourself to the process. Been enjoying your videos Scottie with the easy light play by play banter. I watch them rather than TV before bed and enjoy the whole experience of someone else doing the driving while I simply sit back and enjoy the ride. Thank you for that…

    HI SCOTTIE!
    COMING HERE TO YOUR CHANNEL NOW! AND I LOVED THE FIRST TIME I SEE AN ARTIST GO STEP BY STEP, FROM CONCEPTION TO HOW TO MAKE THE TRACE. AND I CONFESS THAT IT WAS A LOT OF MY DOUBT. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! ONE MORE SUBSCRIBER. I'VE BEEN ON YOUR INSTAGRAM AND YOUR WEBSITE TOO. THANKS.

    I’m primarily a water colour painter but I just love looking at pen and wash shop fronts. I took some photos of very dilapidated shop fronts in Singapore but then wasn’t sure how to approach the painting and drawing bit. So excited to see a really good tutorial that will help me. Thank you so much 🙏

    The biggest problem i usually faced when drawing is trying to make it perfect , down to the last detail , but this video disproved me otherwise.

    Hello Scottie, what type of ink are you using in your pen? I've watched a few of your videos and noticed it's totally smear proof when applying watercolours. I have a pen that's supposed to contain waterproof ink but it still smears a bit sometimes.

  • @Caparzo_11

  • @ps1538

    This was awesome, thanks. What pen do you use? Currently I use fine liner markers and I'm not really a fan of their feel/ink flow

    Hey, Scottie. I was looking at Academy watercolor paper by BaoHong and noticed their paper comes in fine, medium, and coarse textures. Which one would be better suitable for urban sketching? As a beginner, I fear the more coarse texture might be too rough for pen work, but probably wonderful for watercolor alone. Any thoughts?

    • @SketchingScottie
      @SketchingScottie  8 месяцев назад +1

      probably medium or fine. I'd stay away from rough as it's more for watercolor only. Easier to sketch with ink on fine textures 👍🏼

    • @izzyg8316
      @izzyg8316 8 месяцев назад

      @@SketchingScottie Thanks, Scottie. I've placed an order for the medium grained one for the time being. Next order, I'll give the thin grained one a try for comparison sake.
