Excellent teaching of such difficult issues with beginners. Right pace, easy to understand. Cannot thank you enough.please keep up with your good work.
Hey Scottie, I have always found it really hard to do paintings cause I'm a colorblind person. I can't look at the picture and decide which colors are being used. I absolutely love that you mention the colors being used. Your videos inspired me to start painting. I ordered the same brand colors , some colors are different to the kit mentioned on your website , they didn't offer the replacements so. Could you please keep mentioning the colors. I really appreciate it. If I do continue with my paintings and get any good. It would be because of you. Cheers . Keep inspiring.
I'm glad you can follow despite being color blind! I have replaced two colors from the set. I took out white and black and replaced them with Yellow Ochre and Purple Lake. Otherwise all the same colors. All the best!!
This is a fun painting style and you pitched your tutorial perfectly for beginners - thanks. A lovely sketchy painting. The use of spattering and the posca pen highlights really livened it up👌🎨
Terrific! i’m going to an old church next week to sketch with friends and, and it’s my first time sketching not only outdoors but with PEOPLE looking over my shoulder. Yikes. I will definitely use your tips. Thank you.
Hi Scottie, thank you for another great video. My difficulty is that I am afraid to start because often in the past I've ruined the sketch with the paint work. I'm beginning to see that there very clear intentions to your brush strokes, which I shall try to emulate in my own efforts. Thank you for so much encouragement!
You're welcome! Glad I have helped. Yes it's very challenging to add watercolor when you first start but with practice you'll get used to what works and what doesn't 👍🏼
This turned out really sweet. This is a really clear and easy to follow tutorial. Thank you so much for a nice beginner video. I just can't seem to get drawing down so less detail is helpful.
That was really good Scottie! The artist Paul Klee describes the line as “a dot that went for a walk”. I sometimes think about that watching your tutorials.
This is brilliant! Definitely a style that I am interested in trying. You are an excellent teacher. Please let me know what pen you use to sketch. Thank you.
Oh my gosh, this was so great. Watched it through, and now I’ll try. I’ve been looking for some real sketching help. I’m such a beginner at it, lacking confidence to try. But I love this enough to be brave.
loved this no idea why but i m struggling with the pillars on the front of the house , its not showing up like i want it to . the perspective on it doesnt seem right when i do it . any suggestions for me thanks .
This might have been from unsplash. It just takes hours of searching and collecting. I explore photographers collections and not rely all on search terms every time 😊
When the picture looks 1000 times better than the original ;)

You break it down so it’s easy to understand which gives me the confidence to start. Thanks!

I appreciate your mixing your paints and naming what you are using. Your have a relaxed style that helps me believe I can do it. Thanks so much.
Very very good tutorial. Absolute newbie, I followed along with a pencil. Will draw on top of it with a fine liner. Thanks!
Did it twice but I don't have water colours. Will try with soft pastels which I have. Please do a tutorial on ink and soft pastels!
Loved this so much. Great tutorial.

Thumbs up!
Hey scottie, was this reference from pexels as well? What did you search to find these types of references
