This lens is by far the best lens for Sony APS-C cameras I've used. It's very sharp, has fantastic build quality, and has a unique character, especially the bokeh that reminds me of Zeiss lenses. Love it!
Thank you. I actually own both the Viltrox 27/1.2 and 75/1.2 but originally bought them to use on my A6700. I do also own an A7CR and A7RV so I can also use them there but other than reduced cost and reduced resolution they seem to be weight wise be like 35/1.4 or 50/1.4 GM which makes me stop and pause. I guess the value proposition is that it’s great image quality for less than $550 per lens. Take care.
@@CertifiedCryptoBoy It's called APS-C/Super 35mm Crop Mode in the Sony Menu and you can toggle it ON/OFF. When On the camera only uses a fraction of the original sensor size (so a smaller patch around the center of the sensor) and makes this read out a full sized image. You could conversely snap the picture without the Crop Mode and later in post zoom/crop into the image to get the same coverage as all parts of the sensor the lens doesn't cover will remain black :)

Glad I’m not the only one who thinks so! It’s a gem.
Viltrox got the right guy. Your style does very well for showing off what the lens can do.
I am using the 75mm version of this. It's brilliant!

Those portraits are really nice. Great value for sure.
From a few reviews I have seen there is some noticeable vignetting. It adds character and can be fixed so it's not a deal breaker, but it is present.
The Fuji version is exceptional, too. One of the few lenses that really feels like it resolves their 40MP sensors. ❤
@@m29matt Ahhh I forgot to even mention the Fuji version as well. This lens sounds incredible on a 40 MP sensor
At 40 Mpixels it seems ideal for an X-T5. Maybe Sony will release a 40 Mpixel APS-C A6XXX body.
Wow!
Such a great review.
I don’t want grams, sizes and all that. I wanted to see it in action.
Subbed.
@@WEHAVETHISDREAM thanks for watching! I think you’ll like the rest of the videos on my channel if that’s the case :)
How about video performance?
What preset did you use on the photos of your wife? Colors are beautiful.

Hi
I wonder if this lens captures the full frame sensor at a 27mm angle or does the camera crop?
@@ronituran1078 it’s a cropped 40mm equivalent focal length
@@DylanBlackburn I'm wondering, when we install it on the a7cr model, does it still receive the cropped 40mm or 27mm?
Is the portrait at 0:24 40mm or 27mm?
Have 27 and 75 - In compare to zeiss otus - even bokeh the same, im not talking about sharpness. Feels like they bought zeiss glasses
That’s not a bad price either for all you get in that
It’s really not! Just trying to help spread the word so people give it a chance!
How do you use the apsc lens with your camera?
Sony cameras (most full frame cameras) have an APSC crop mode when using a crop lens on full frame
@@DylanBlackburn Very cool! Is it automatic?
