  • Now that I have Lubuntu installed, the next step is to to configure the OS on my MacBook.
    This config video is Part 2 of a 4-part series. In Part 3 we'll theme Lubuntu and finally in Part 4 we'll install Ubuntu Studio and I'll demonstrate how I connect an external soundcard and then set up the MacBook for audio work.

    Part 3: Theme Lubuntu 22.04 LTS ☞ • Lubuntu 22.04 LTS Them...
    Part 4: Install & Use Ubuntu Studio on Lubuntu ☞ • Using Ubuntu Studio 22...
    Although I’ll be doing this beginner-friendly walkthrough on a MacBook Pro, this video should still be helpful if you're setting up a PC for multimedia work.

    For my money you are the best on RUclips for explaining how to configure everything Linux. Step by step, no BS and very articulate and to the point with your Aussies English. Thank you Staempunk for all you do for us.

    Done! ✅ I've been following all your configuration without any major issue. Only pommed seems to not be working, my keyboard is not lit. However, I'm excited about giving my Macbook Air 11" mid 2013 with 112 GB a second life... I only want to typewrite on the go, but the mac OS was taking all the space...
    Will follow more videos to learn how to use Lubuntu!
    Thanks for your dedication.

    Excellent video, as always very well explained. I'm going to try an old 17" Macbook Pro of my wife who has abandoned it, because she says it's very slow. Is Lubuntu for you the best distri that can work on this computer? or is there another one that could also work? Many Thank you for your videos, always so educational and enjoyable. Greetings from Spain.

      @Juan Clari Thanks for your comment and question! Lubuntu is great for older computers. There are many other Linux distros that would work well too, such as Linux Lite and MX Linux. It all depends on what you want to use the computer for. I chose Lubuntu for my old MacBook because I wanted to use it for audio work and Lubuntu being an official Ubuntu flavor, is able to have Ubuntu Studio installed onto it. Cheers!

      @Juan Clari I personally would go with Lubuntu or antiX on a computer of those specs. antiX would probably run slightly faster than Lubuntu but Lubuntu is much easier to configure (and looks nicer). With that amount of RAM, it might behoove you to use a lighter web browser like Falkon.

    Can you add appimagehub, the same way you added flathub?

    • @StaempunkTV
      @StaempunkTV  2 года назад +2

      As far as I'm aware, AppImages can't be integrated into the Discover software center like Flatpaks. I've been using AppImagePool which is a GUI software center for AppImages in combination with AppImageLauncher to handle them once they've been downloaded. The combo works well.
