Agree, 100%. There's cultural history and there's technical history. The Professor has both. I've been waiting for this episode. I'd love to see a PS Stix channel that deals with these issues in depth for individual skaters. Not just theory, but application.

    • @michaelbonior6406

I think its definitely the next step in the Skateboard / Rider , able to customize the exact setup for how you ride and your physical body at the time, also math and geometry make factual sense with board performance and balance.... The Professor needs to make some SOP's for other "board crafters" such a Mike V to follow suit, especially with those skaters in the Olympics .... it's a given to obtain that one step ahead of the competition , or making that certain trick you want to get .... super cool to learn stuff like this ! A+ .....it's cool to hear the history , I too came up thru Silk Screening and early Post Production , neat to hear about that tech again ... Quadra 900 !! I used one also back then , it was the Mac Pro of today !

For a while, Indy would change the “size” of their trucks as a new stage would come out. Stage 7 was 137, stage 8 was 138, stage 9 was 139. Once Indy got to stage 10 they stopped changing that last digit so now they’ve just kept the last digit as a 9.

As a kid at 10 years old in the mid 80’s that was obsessed with skateboarding, lol, I had always called every rail that was made “Schmitt Stix”. Didn’t matter what company made them, they were Schmitt Stix to me and to all my buddies back then. LOL
It’s great listening to this mans stories. This and the Vallely episode...just incredible!
And now Schmitt is helping design and make some of the StreetPlant boards! I love how this whole history of skating comes down to a bunch of kids that want to ride a board and just have fun! Great episode guys!

He had an old Slap cover doing a noseblunt yank in on a weird bank in Indian School Ditch I tried to drop into one time and ate so much shit. He did it from the rail up top and I just tried dropping in from the top of the bank and died. You can't really see the fucked up little bolts you have to go between on the Slap cover, but that's what killed me.

@George Davis ... not true. But if you would be educated enough .. you would know that they do not need to be refrigerated when fresh ;)

@@oskargarden4559 lemme break it down! in the US it is a law to wash eggs before selling them as they use Chemicals and other substances in the chickens and on the eggs as there is a higher chance of getting salmonella in the US. In Europe they do not wash the eggs which leave a protective layer stopping the egg from going bad unlike in the US where that protective layer is gone. (That is why you sometimes get feathers)THerefore yes, it is true that you do not need to refrigerate an egg in Europe as it has a protective layer, stoppin it from going bad. :) Hope that makes sense and Yes we are the only species that drink milk after being a kid and we shouldnt do that!

The videos with Spencer taught me a lot. Switched to bigger wheels and was able to pop a little higher. Paul is the man! S/O to the Midwest work ethic.
