I'm with you! I haven't touched 2020 since 2024's day of release. Yes, there are lots of bugs to work out, and there are things that just aren't finished yet. But I totally agree that 2024 is in a much better state now than 2020 was, four years ago. I am loving helicopter flying in 2024, and I just did another video to show some of the positives and negatives as things currently stand - including what I call the "magnetic repulsion" bug around some helipads! Like you, I'm enjoying the ride in every way!
@ by the way are you recording with OBS? You are getting good results with colour and sharpness in your recordings. But I’m having colour issues, even with HDR turned off.
@ I’m am just screen recording with Nvidia Shadowplay. I have OBS set up to add controls cameras and crop the VR mirror, but I hardly ever use it. I usually just crop the shadowplay recording in Resolve when I’m editing.
@@madeupwithit ha! No… There is a bug with ground effect and object models where it doesn’t come on gradually as the downwash goes over an edge. It just suddenly applies the ground effect all at once when the center of the helicopter crosses the edge of a building, elevated pad, group of trees, etc.
Great to watch a positive video on msfs2024 ..thanks. I didnt even have the origional release day problems , i just waited till the next day to download and everything was fine ...certainly a few bugs need squashed but overall my own experience has been very positive 😃👍

I bought the Premium Deluxe edition specifically for this helicopter, and I'm annoyed that it can't be used for missions! I imagine it WILL be usable in the future, but there's a lot of unfinished stuff in this sim right now. That said, I can honestly say it outperforms 2020 for me. I play exclusively in VR and 2024 has offered me some of the most immersive flying experiences, period. I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops over time, and getting my hands on all the aircraft I bought for 2020. I miss my Vulcan!
@@Belatu42 I do! Helicopters always seemed to be an afterthought in previous editions of MSFS. That's why I was looking forward to getting my hands on 2024. No regrets so far!

As disappointing as it is NOT having the H225 available for missions at the moment, I'm just gonna use this time to familiarise myself with it and progress my career, so I'm ready for when it does become available for use.
Most of your flight is Key West, not West Palm Beach ;) Glad that HPG is part of the Premium Dlx version, and that they've made the 225 a Hi Fi release. I haven't flown it yet, but it's definitely high on my list! And like you said, I hope they fix things like the magic rotor droop at shutdown 😁
Did I say West Palm in the video? Must have been a slip, I used to live there. The whole flight was around Key West. The rotor droop seems more like the rotation animation stopped too soon. It should have kept spinning while it flexed down.
I was looking forward to this helicopter specifically. I’m on Xbox and I can’t even get the mouse to work. When that gets fixed I’ll be happy. And I’m happy to have HPG anything.
@@stefanblackadder5236 it will all shake out in the wash. It’s a bummer that it hasn’t been perfect from day one, but that is always how it has been with flightsims. They aren’t nearly as stable as typical games, and it’s kind of a marvel that they are able to even offer this experience on a console in the first place.

@@baomao7243 I have been having a good experience with MSFS2024. It does have some bugs, but aside from the first day server meltdown I haven’t seen any of the issues that all of the uproar is about.

Birds of a feather, i guess - I am definitely a numerical methods junkie except for electromagnetics sims, mostly using FEM and FDTD, and occasional dabbling with MoM for some a few specific antenna TX/RX performance analyses. Always floating in/out of the HPC world…

Will HPG h145 be available in search and rescue missions (Carrier mode)? With it´s 4 axis stability system the hovering would be Peace of Cake compared to the stock h125.
@@MagnusThornberg MS stated that only aircraft available on the marketplace will be able to be used in career. I don’t believe it has to be purchased there, but that intake would make sure that the necessary features are present to make it mission compatible. So if you can get the H145 through the marketplace, it should be possible in the future
I cannot get it to taxi without lifting the tail up, or lifting off if I minimize cyclic forward. What is the secret to taxi on the wheels? I can do it fine on the Chinook.
I had to land walk around the mountains outside Yellowstone and take photos of the trees they are all unique , I didn’t see any repeated , I’m just flabbergasted at the tech here . They must have petabytes upon petabytes of storage on their servers
My only issue with 2024 is that it’s internet based, what are we supposed to do if we’re in an area that just can’t get good speeds and don’t have the insane amount of money to have good internet? I don’t think any bug fixes will change that unless they let you download everything at some point
@@callum3844 I’m pretty sure local storage is coming. MS has stated that it will be possible. Then you would use the cache for scenery, but it will always require an internet connection to run and set the cache for the area you are flying. True offline isn’t available for 2020 either.
With reference to internet connection 💯 agree. I think if they implement manual caching ASAP it will improve dramatically. My graphics in MSFS2020 are better. I have an RTX 4090 i9 14900kf and pimax crystal light and virpil collective the H160 is absolutely amazing experience but with 24 not so much. Also I’m 💯 behind the new settings interface i find it so much easier to find and bind things. Great. Just very poor graphics in 24. 😢
@ I am sure that’s the case. But still, I haven’t seen a range of internet connection videos. Mostly RUclips videos say they have a good internet service. Know one has said oh ! By the way these graphics are what I get with utter garbage internet. I have a number of pictures and videos showing how bad the graphics are with poor internet. I was thinking about getting starlink but I still don’t know how good a connection I would get. It ranges wildly In 🇬🇧
Good point. I’m actually in the process of helping my retired father set up his system for 2024 and his connection is about half as good mine. I may use that experience to share the differences we see based on connection. His system is slightly better than mine so it would be a good test.
@ my system is averaging 630down/40up Mbps. My dad’s is about half that. I’m on broadband, he has cellular. I’ll run a speed test on his system when I get him set up.
@@qwerty85620 I’m not seeing any odd weight balance with any helicopters. I never use trim with my control setup. However, Moza recently added hardware trim to their cockpit software so I am going to experiment with it and see how it behaves. What is your control setup?
It is crazy how the experience varies. Unless I run all low settings, it is a stuttery mess. Unplayable. 2020 is totally fine. I have a slightly lower spec PC, not much... 600mbps internet, so should not have any issues. Even in cities for you it is smooth? I don't know why mine sucks so much! 2020 it is for now.
@@Belatu42 I would be curious your settings in VR. Even other folks with high end PCs, are posting settings videos and having to run settings in the low/medium range... where I can get better visuals in 2020 running higher settings.
@@CCitis 3600 is ancient cpu, I had similar issue with 3600x and had to upgrade to 5700x3d and now the difference is huge. Also upgraded my hard disk to a mv.2

@@Mike-mw5fg what’s going on with the collective? I found that even if assigned correctly, it doesn’t move until you have the hydraulics on and engines running. Have you tried loading it ready to fly?
@Belatu42 Every time I load in with ready-to-fly, PFDs are off, the engines are running, the collective is not functional, and when I step out to view the helicopter, the game crashes.
@@Mike-mw5fg try uninstalling it from the marketplace/content center then restart the sim. Sounds like you have a corrupt package. Are you on HPGs discord? They are active for support

All ROTORs in MSFS have werid weight balance, so pitch trim should always be increased by 0.5
