My shin splints were caused by pelvic tilt, it was at point where simple 3 minute walk caused very painful shin splints. Doing excercises specific for fixing pelvic tilt helped me a lot, I no longer have shin spints.
Great explanation on shin splints. I restarted my running journey 8 months ago and just yesterday had to stop my run short 😫 I have suffered with these several times before. Frustrating when all you want to do is run but will need to take some time away. The only thing that changed was new trainers!! 😬😬
Thank you for your time and knowledge. Shoes on or off? Would these exercises help heal peroneal tendonitis? Backing off of deep massage has helped me a lot.
Your description of the issue was spot on. Could you share your thoughts on kinesiology tape? I took a six-day break from running, but after a 10k run, the pain is back. It’s frustrating since I’m in week 11 of a 15-week marathon prep. I just found your video today, so I’ll start incorporating the exercises right away. Do you have any advice? THANK YOU
Kinesiology can give you the placebo effect so you can be more mentally aware of the pain, not 100% sold on how effective it really is. Try pulling back on the distance of your runs, it might feel like a step back but you need to listen to your body when its hurting. -YOGABODY Team
@ thanks I’m a tough spot i made 11 weeks of prep out of 15 to my 1st marathon. Booked flights hotel to Spain. But now I’m even in pain after 40 min cycling. I will try swimming. Thank you for the respond
I like to use a really short and boring approach for tendon training, it might be overly gentle... but 2x per week isometric for a month 2x per week eccentric for a month 2x per week concentric / full range 1 month
A lot of the videos i've been watching focus on the inside of the shin or the top outside portion of the shin. Would shin splints cause pain on the lower outer part of your (lower anterior tibialis) leg?
Yes, shin splints can cause pain in different parts of the shin, including the lower outer part of your leg, where the anterior tibialis muscle is located. - YOGABODY Team
Hope you find this video helpful! Poses in a PDF in the description. Thanks for your support! - Lucas @ YOGABODY
Hey Lucas why I cannot access your website today?
I’ve listened to a ton of videos on shin splints, and this is by far the most concise and informative one. Thank you very much.
Glad you liked the video, Anna!

This is great information, thanks Lucas! I’m going to share with my daughter who gets shin splints occasionally
Thank you that was very helpful! 🙏

Sometimes it's the smallest change that makes the biggest difference. Hope you can get back to running soon!

Thank you so much.
Just found you and just started using this.
BTW, what kind of shoes are you wearing? - Leland
We don't have specific brands to recommend but just any zero-drop or barefoot shoes are already good.

Any Eccentric or Isometric exercises for the PT tendon, muscle you found helpful?

If i have shin splints in one leg only mostly , should i do more on that one ?
Yes! Focus stretches on the shin with shin splints. Rest is also important.

I've had shin splints over 3 months. Dull ache on my shins and referred pain in my knees
Sorry to hear, hopefully they will pass soon.
Shake it out? How does that help?
Just a reset pose, skip if you like.
