Although I am now completely deaf from the sirens (don't wear headphones whilst watching) great vlog! I reckon even I could give setting that up a go. It seems really straightforward and really decent security cover.
I know this video is a year old. I have got a ring system and I have outdoor contact sensor on my gate and it been through everything extreme rain wind and frost. And it’s update’s straight away like the indoor ones. I recommend them.
I have Google Nest products set up all over my smart home 🏡But was still very interested in seeing how Ring products compare, But with what I know and see it's just a matter of preferences? as you wouldn't really want a mix & match of both! even though I have a few different well-known named smart devices doted all-over lol but its best to stick to one for the main stuff, Anyways it was a really nice video, entertaining, educational and with good easy to follow step-by-step set-up, Thanks for yet another brilliant video my good friend Kip Hakes... 🙂👍
@@kiphakes Thanks Kip I do, I'm currently using things like Nest Hub Max, Samsung smart things, Ziggy, Hue Bridge, TP-link plus other stuff that can't be Paired, But I'm trying to simplify a few things as it can get a bit overwhelming for my partner lol its easier to understand when not having to have loads of apps to setup and have on phone, I'm fine with it but a certain other thinks it's to much to remember lol 😆 👍
Small tip fit the sensor big bit on the frame. The continual motion of the door thudding will break it over time. So just have the magnet on the actual door 👍🏻
as a alarm engineer myself i moved into a house with a ring alarm i set it one day and came home found i had been burgled and the system hadnt gone off hence it had to go , great video though
All wireless alarm systems are jamable. So, as long as it was armed and setup correctly, you probably suffered a experienced burglar. Some has features to treat a lost connection as jamming eg. trigger the alarm. Ring does not at this time, as far as I am informed.
We have a verisure person showing up tomorrow and I am currently considering to get a ring setup, Verisure works out about £540 a year and likely around £700 setup so very expensive
I wouldn’t use Verisure tbh.. it’s essentially the same as a Ring system (but with a manned call centre), but a lot more expensive. Also someone on our estate was robbed.. so I can’t help but wince when I see the ‘protected by Verisure’ plaque outside the house (that was there before the robbery)
I ended up sending the guy away as he turned up an hour and a half late and we had made our mind to go with the ring setup, i used your link but ended up getting the 13 kit so not sure if you'll get any affiliate for this, it should arrive tomorrow, thanks for the feedback and keep up the good videos 👍
@@kiphakes when unplugged my base station only last 25-30 minutes before turning down. I believe the base station should have enough power for 24 hours, any trouble shooting ideas or something
10:17 you can't beat a bit of ring illumination 😎
Indeed! :)

As I said.. it's idiotproof ;)

It’s on my wish list! Can’t wait to get one!

You can use something like Home Assistant to bridge the gap between all your smart stuff.. no mater what brand!
Thanks for watching!

Thank you, and thank you for the link to this vid. One year on - is it still the alarm of your dreams?
Yes, been absolutely great, no false alarms, has worked flawlessly! Not even had to change batteries on anything either!
Great vid as always great guy 😃😃👍👍🥰
Thanks David!
Great video dude 😎
Cheers Richard!
Shoutout to Kimbinks for liking your Instagram post 12:29👀

Fame at last!
Well spotted! :)
Thanks convinced to add this alarm to my existing doorbell and camera's
Happy to help!

@@HotelGolf82 totally agree with you hence I ditched the cheap ring system and replaced it with a traditional hardwired system
Great video
I go 8 piece kit ring security system
How annoying is that cable setup on the base station!
why do i get the feeling that the uk version is different from the amercian one ?
I imagine there are some differences, but I’m sure the fundamentals are the same?

@DazzyVR uh I hate people being late, especially on weekends!! Thanks so much for using the link, that should still track!
I read you can use Poe to power the base unit have you tried this?
I haven’t.. don’t have any POE gear
Does the base station have a battery backup?
Yes it does

How often do you need to take the keypad off the wall to charge it?
Not had to yet!
Any tips on if I am getting stuck at the Ethernet/wifi part? Lights are green but I keep getting an error that it can’t connect.
Sorry, nothing off the top of my head, I’d speak to Ring support!
the worst video
I don’t think it’s my worst video by far. 😂
Ooo, let’s see you video on this then Jennifer. It must be Oscar worthy!
You've clearly never seen 2 Girls 1 Cup Jennifer.
