When you open the door and the alarm starts beeping to disarm, it immediately sends a signal to the alarm company saying someone came in the house. If it does not receive a signal that the alarm was disarmed, it considers that a smash and grab and sends out an alert to the homeowner and police if that's how you had it set up.
Thanks for this informative video. I’ve been using the Eufy doorbell and cameras at 2 different houses and I really like that there is no subscription required. I may add the security stuff now that I’ve seen it in action. I also have YoLink water, temp and door sensors for both places. The temp sensors are great for monitoring the house as well as the refrigerator when we are away. They have their own hub and super long range and work great.

Just unplugging the base station is indeed a bummer. I got the Ring system, and (I might be wrong) both the keypad and the base station should sound an alarm. In addition, the base station is battery powered as backup, so you’d have to physically destroy it. Also, there’s no need to have the base station close to the entrance. The Ring base station is crazy loud, so I just put it in different room. About the doors needing to be closed to activate: that’s the same for Ring. I don’t think that’s a problem, it just makes sure that everything works (sensors connected) before you can arm it. Otherwise, it woulnd’t know if a door is open or the sensor just doesn’t work.
Tips regarding the door sensor: you mount the heavy part in the door frame (upside down is ok too) because you want the heavy part remain still instead of moving with the door every time. In this way you reduce the risk that the sticker fail and the sensor fall off with time.
I hit that subscribe button. Thanks for your video. Just bought the 5 alarm kit, 2 cameras and one extra motion sensor for my office & packing room in the warehouse. I know its all reliable on wifi but I like that I can watch who is entering and when. A little sense of safety is all worth it. Will buy some Eufy doorbells next. I have the Eufy Homebase 2, keypad, a bunch of motion sensors, door entry sensors, 7 Homebase linked 2C Pro outdoor cameras, and 7 indoor cams and another 2 solo cams. I arm my system from the mobile app only, because I don't trust (and don't use) the arming and disarming delays. I've also turned off the Homebase "alarm off" button and have set all my outdoor cameras to also alarm as well at the same time using automation. I have zero problems using the app only method. I also UPS power back up my internet gigabit modem, wifi 6+ routers (I have two to ensure smooth wireless service and optimal latency), two indoor solocams modified for use as window monitors for the front door and driveway. So even in the event of a power outage, my alarm will continue to work. There are simple and inexpensive things you can do to mitigate Eufy shortcomings. Overall, I've found the minimal shortcomings aren't a deal breaker, which is why I've continued to expand in this ecosystem and have moved up to the Homebase 3, pending delivery. It should support my existing security system, sans the solocams. My biggest and only major grievances with Eufy are the loudness of the Homebase 2 (no way to make it louder) and the lack of cellular backup. I guess you could solve the cellular issue with a simple LTE/5G hotspot device from the carrier of your choice, and then setting the Homebase 2 to wifi mode as a backup. Great walkthrough review of the EUFY alarm system. I see in other reviews that there is an option to pair up the motion sensor from the EUFY cameras and also sound off the alarm locally from the respective cameras. Would the alarm go off from the cameras even if the homebase is down?
I'd recommend mounting your door camera higher, out of arms reach. At that level, they could hit the reset button, and take the camera and you just lost all that footage. I'd also recommend hardening your doorframes so they aren't easily broken into with a kick. That gives you more time to respond accordingly if you are home, or more time for first responders before they could actually enter the premises. Time buys you options, whether you are home or not....
I have higher cameras, to get to this one they’ve passed two others. The give and take with mounting cameras high is security over camera angle. I’f you getting the top of a head or the bill of a hat instead of a face the footage is useless. Eufy fixed the reset button issue with the last update.

Hi there. Thanks for this informative video. I have a similar but smaller set-up and would like to know if there is any way to *quickly* switch off an entry sensor before opening the door/window. If I have the system activated at night, then have to let the cat out, I don’t want to have to fumble through the app on my phone(!). Thanks in advance for any advice.
Do you have the keypad setup? If so you can deactivate via the keypad, you can also get a second keypad if you need it by a different door. I don’t know of another way, unless you could set something up with an Alexa command (I havnt tried that)
@@DoItYourselfDadThanks for replying. I do have a keypad setup by the front door, but that’s on a different level meaning a sleepy trip climbing stairs to deactivate. A 2nd one would help so that might be an option. I’ve solved the problem slightly by making several different custom set ups (I think we’re allowed 3 or 4 custom set ups) and leaving the alarm switched off on the one door. I do have Alexa and will see if I can program it to switch off the one alarm on command. That would be the best solution, I reckon.
I think if the base station was enclosed in a cabinet with a lock, then it be harder for the intruder to get access too, providing it doesn't affect it connecting to devices, I think also Eufy need an external alarm red light with siren, the siren on base station isn't very loud either, but I think siren outside, would be better than inside, as it would give you enough time to ring police and then hopefully catch the culprit as really, the siren just lets them know, its been set off and in turn, you be notified regardless
Outside alarms are only useful to annoy neighbours. No one goes running to neighbours houses if they hear an alarm. Same as car alarms. You just need to be notified so you can call the police or be woke up.
Very Good video - well done...thanks for not unboxing....Would love to see a follow up on some custom settings like adjusting the motion sensor so dogs/cats won't set it off.. Again GREAT JOB !!
Great video, Thinking of getting eufy/SimpliSafe for my home. Wondering why you switched in the first place from SimpliSafe > Eufy? I would be particularly interested if you can tell either system to not notify police/fire dept instead just notify you personally and if that is actually an option. Keep up the great work!
I switched because I had the older SimpliSafe system. When they switched to the new system they stopped supporting their old system. I had a CO detector fail and the only solution was to spend hundreds of dollars converting the entire system over to the new one. They offered no help, no assistance, no discount despite my paying for their service for 5 years. Since I already had Eufy cameras, door lock, doorbell etc it made more sense to me to switch the whole system over to Eufy so it would all integrate. I've been very happy with the system. Both systems can be set up to not notify the police and just alert you over your phone. The difference is, if you don't want monitoring Eufy doesn't charge you a fee, Simplisafe still does.
Thanks for the video. How is the “delay” in triggering the alarm when the mention sensor detects something or when Door sensor when the door/window is open. Thanks. Because I bought a different set before, the delay was quite long like 10 seconds to trigger the alarm
Hi, Do you know why the delay timer for arming and disarming via the keypad isn't working on my Eufy security camera? I'm receiving notifications, and the alarm goes off unexpectedly. Here's the situation: when I arm the system using the keypad, the exit delay starts for 300 seconds. However, to leave the house, I need to go through the garage where I have a Eufy camera installed. As soon as I step into the garage, the alarm sounds because of the camera. Similarly, when I enter through the front door, where another camera is located, the alarm goes off before I can reach the keypad to disarm the system. I've reached out to Eufy, and they suggested reinstalling everything, but that didn’t resolve the issue. Do you know how to fix this? Thanks Vijay
Bought the five-piece alarm system. Batteries were no good. Had to get new ones. Also, the motion sensor does not work unless you are standing right in front of it.
Yeah I already picked this up without even looking for it............ I knew straight away that the homebox would be the alarm and I said to my partner well it'd just guide them straight to it........... which is stupid..... thats as far as I went....
i am using the eufycam 2c with flashlight on my vacuum roboter, so he can patrol and detect human activity and scare them like a security robot in clean mode with 0% vacuum power so he saves battery too.
I've been reading a lot of reviews that say the alarm on the base station wouldn't scare a mouse! And they say it only rings for 30 seconds before turning off. Some people say you can set it to ring until you turn it off manually from the app. Neither situation is good for me. I want an alarm that is loud enough for the neighbours to hear (like a smoke alarm/detector) and that i can set how long it rings for. 30 secs is not long enough to scare a theif from inside your house. And if i miss the notification on my phone the alarm could ring for 30-60 mins with the front door to the house potentially wide open - who knows who will come snooping in your house if they see that. I need a motion sensing alarm that you can set to ring for 2-3 mins before automatically turning itself off. I know you can make it so that your Eufy outdoor camera sirens go off when the HomeBase siren does - but i don't want outdoor sirens going off - just a loud indoor one. Also apparently you need four cameras outside to make enough noise to scare a robber away - too expensive. Going to buy 2 Ring cameras for outside and a Swann motion sensing alarm for inside (i think - need to suss out the Swann alarm but i think you can set how long it rings for). I'm in Australia and the Ring 5 piece alarm kit is not available here. Can get it sent from USA but i need it before i go away this Xmas holidays! (it won't get here in time and i don't have any more time to research alarms!). Will probably buy the Swann alarm and look into the Ring alarm in future.
No one goes running towards alwarms on neighbours homes. They just get annoyed by the sound. Same as car alarms. You just need to be notified so you can do something ie ring police
@@experiment54 Yes but when a deafeningly loud siren goes off inside the house most/all robbers will get scared enough to leave the house very quickly. I bought a Vision Z-wave outdoor siren, a Fibaro motion sensor, and an Aeotec Smart Home Hub - now i have a deafeningly loud motion sensing alarm inside my home.
I recently purchased a home that had a wireless security system. The home has many Sensors already installed. They are 433 MHz sensors. Will the Eufy system sync with these existing contacts and motion detectors?
And I have another the cameras as well have alarm. Once by mistake I put it on but now I can find how to put them back. Because floodlight camera on the top of my garage door. And I want to put it on but not sure how to turn on
how to i get the keypad or home base 2 to count down if i forget to turn off the home button before opening the front door? As of now in 1 minute after opening the door i get a notification that the alarm is about to go off.
The alarm is still working great, I’ve had it up for over a year. I’ve had to charge the keypad once, the batteries on the sensors are still all reading full.
I want alerts to my cell phone to be obvious. I often have my phone on vibrate, and unless it vibrates a number of times, as in an actual phone call, I may not be alerted enough to check it. Does this system have a robust alert to the phone in which it would be hard to miss it?
With any of these smart burglar alarms have an external siren high up and visible on the external part of the property. Plus there must be a way of hiding away the base or if it disconnected it has an anti tamper mode? From this video i wouldnt have one there too easy to bypass.
I am just like you live in a very safe area but have serc. cams everywhere and alarm system special deadbolts on all outside doors, sensor light around my house and old faithful under my bed just incase someone wants more
It doesn’t set off the alarm from the cameras? What if you setup 2 homebase? So when you set the alarm before going to sleep, but you have kids going to the fridge?
You can setup the cameras as triggers if you want. When you are home, you set it in "home mode", then the alarm wont trigger unless an entry sensor is tripped (you can cusomize which sensors you want to trip in each mode).
if your a seasoned burglar you know to get the actual breathable sports ski mask so even in hot weather it doesn't make you sweat same for hoodie you get a summer sports hoodie with wetdry technology's for moisture wickening and then best burglar gloves are the lightweight gloves with extra tactical feeling from mechanics gloves since burgler professionals know certian glove materials still leave fingerprints like standard rubber gloves. for boots you get the 5.11 tactical boots with fence climbing capabilities and composite steel toe boots in case you need to kick down a door or kick in a drywall wall hole. and if your a technology advanced seasoned burgler you probably have wireless jamming tech anyway so none of those alerts would go off in the first place and they would unplug your router and base station or just cut the power to the house.
@@DoItYourselfDad pretty sure going into a house with a full bullet proof suit is too much for burglers. even the police probably have a protective but maneuverability threshold.
To me the homebase is eufy's biggest problem. The new one can't even use wifi and must me plugged in at all times. This hurts your ability to hide what is basically the center of your home security system. I made a bypass with a wifi extender to fix that problem but it shouldn't be a problem. Love the company anker but they have a lot to address with the homebases. Also they should make it to where all your devices sound alarms. Should be optional on which one do since every camera can and the keypad has that ability as well. If you hide the homebase then it may not get found if the thieves are busy trying to pull your cameras off the wall.

Would it help to install two Home Bases to avoid the issue taking it of prior to the alarm? Could they work in parallel?
@@experiment54thank you
will this work with HomeBase 3?
Yes, I actually just switched all my sensors over to HB 3 a few weeks ago.
I see you like to have fun. That's nice.
Thinking about expanding my Eufy system with this. Question, does this offer Google Home integration? Like hey google set eufy to home or away etc?
It is a great video, thank you! Can the beep sound be muted on the panel and on the sensor when you arm and disarm the system?
I just went into the app and looked, I can't find a way to mute the beeps unfortunately .
Very Good video - well done...thanks for not unboxing....Would love to see a follow up on some custom settings like adjusting the motion sensor so dogs/cats won't set it off.. Again GREAT JOB !!
i love this system lol
Great review
I'm thinking about getting one now a year later has the problem been solved by eufy?
about disconnecting the homebase?
Unfortunately no, it hasn’t.
Thanks for the video. How is the “delay” in triggering the alarm when the mention sensor detects something or when Door sensor when the door/window is open. Thanks. Because I bought a different set before, the delay was quite long like 10 seconds to trigger the alarm
There really isn't any delay, the nice things with these systems is they communicate directly to the base, not through your homes wifi.
ive watched ur video several times.
it has helped tremendously
as i outfit my home/business with eufy security products.
thanks for sharing.

Very handy video!
Does the system require the internet to function after initial setup? What happens if your internet goes down?
Once its setup the system will work without the internet, you just won't get alerts to your phone.
Does this system have any type of cellular backup? Does it call authorities if the internet is out,
QUESTION: Can I connect several phones to receive the alerts - so that all family members get an alert???
Yes, we have it setup on everyone’s phone in the house and also our tablets.
QUESTION2: Can the base station connect to the internet over WiFi?
Or does it require a physical Ethernet cat5 to the router???
One the second generation home bases you can connect to Wi-Fi, on the third gens you have to connect wires.
Nice Supra!
Thank you sir!
So this is not cellular based? If running on bb only, I advise installing a ups on the base station and gateway. You back up the back up.
They make a ups for the v2 base and rhe new one has a ups built in. I didnput my router and wifi mesh on a ups though.
Instead of the homebase not sounding an alarm can the alarm sound be lowered? I know in the settings for the cameras you can alter the volume.
Yes, you can change the volume of both the alarm and the voice allerts.
is there an stay mode for those who have pets..... animals can roam home without setting the interior off..?
Yes, there is. You can also set the sensors up to not detect pets as well.
The signs let People know what system you have in specific and if trained know the weakness of it
Hi,
Do you know why the delay timer for arming and disarming via the keypad isn't working on my Eufy security camera?
Thanks
Vijay
How often do you have to charge the keypad? Is it smart to locate it near an electrical outlet?
Its very seldome, one a year or so. The keypad unclips easily and can be charged with USB.
@@DoItYourselfDad seldom (no "e") (no this isn't pedantry - the OP asked to be made aware).
Correcting spelling on a 6 month old post…. You’re quite the hero. This is literally the definition of pedantry.
Bought the five-piece alarm system. Batteries were no good. Had to get new ones. Also, the motion sensor does not work unless you are standing right in front of it.
New viewer here, i found you channel as i am waiting for my eufy system, i like the video and ill stick around. Any news on the alarm chime?
I’ve got one actually and hooking it up this weekend. Should have a video up Tuesday
@@DoItYourselfDad I'll be here for it
Video is up! Check it out!
Yeah I already picked this up without even looking for it............ I knew straight away that the homebox would be the alarm and I said to my partner well it'd just guide them straight to it........... which is stupid..... thats as far as I went....
Helpful video, thnx
Real nice would love one but I am in Jamaica.
i am using the eufycam 2c with flashlight on my vacuum roboter, so he can patrol and detect human activity and scare them like a security robot in clean mode with 0% vacuum power so he saves battery too.
Smart!
You can turn up the eufy alarm on the home base. It is as loud as a smoke detector if not way louder
You can also now buy additional alarm sirens which are deafening
Did they ever release the chime? can you arm the alarm system from your phone?
Can you hard wire the keypad and other security devices??
I recently purchased a home that had a wireless security system. The home has many Sensors already installed. They are 433 MHz sensors. Will the Eufy system sync with these existing contacts and motion detectors?
Unfortunately no
Well done!!!
And I have another the cameras as well have alarm. Once by mistake I put it on but now I can find how to put them back. Because floodlight camera on the top of my garage door. And I want to put it on but not sure how to turn on
Great video thanks ❤
Hi has the alarm disconnect problem you mentioned been fixed?
Sadly no
Can you link the alarm to the sirens on the cameras?
Appreciate of the tutorial of installing the keypad system it helps a lot to learn more
how to i get the keypad or home base 2 to count down if i forget to turn off the home button before opening the front door? As of now in 1 minute after opening the door i get a notification that the alarm is about to go off.
thank you for great videos and not making me watch you open a box and talk about how well it was packaged
How is your alarm holding up? Also, how long are the batteries lasting you?
The alarm is still working great, I’ve had it up for over a year. I’ve had to charge the keypad once, the batteries on the sensors are still all reading full.
I want alerts to my cell phone to be obvious. I often have my phone on vibrate, and unless it vibrates a number of times, as in an actual phone call, I may not be alerted enough to check it. Does this system have a robust alert to the phone in which it would be hard to miss it?
It uses the standard notifications that your phone uses, those are controleld by the OS, not the app.
With any of these smart burglar alarms have an external siren high up and visible on the external part of the property. Plus there must be a way of hiding away the base or if it disconnected it has an anti tamper mode? From this video i wouldnt have one there too easy to bypass.
They do have a siren out now, check out my more recent videos for my taken on it.
@@DoItYourselfDad i know they do🤣 my comment said have an external siren high up.
Please can you showed how far from homebase the wifi is working ? It is my main preoccupation. Thanks
The furthest sensor I have is about 80ft away, going through several walls. At that distance I still have good connection.
I subscribed
Thank you!
9:36 damn! I just wanna see vids on the Supra lol they are as rare as hell here in New Zealand
Will this eufy door sensor work on sliding glass door
Yes, I have one on my sliding back door.
if your a seasoned burglar you know to get the actual breathable sports ski mask so even in hot weather it doesn't make you sweat same for hoodie you get a summer sports hoodie with wetdry technology's for moisture wickening and then best burglar gloves are the lightweight gloves with extra tactical feeling from mechanics gloves since burgler professionals know certian glove materials still leave fingerprints like standard rubber gloves. for boots you get the 5.11 tactical boots with fence climbing capabilities and composite steel toe boots in case you need to kick down a door or kick in a drywall wall hole. and if your a technology advanced seasoned burgler you probably have wireless jamming tech anyway so none of those alerts would go off in the first place and they would unplug your router and base station or just cut the power to the house.
None of that fancy stuff is bullet proof… just sayin…
@@DoItYourselfDad pretty sure going into a house with a full bullet proof suit is too much for burglers. even the police probably have a protective but maneuverability threshold.
Is there (or will there be) a way to make your phone have an alarm instead of just a notification when motion is detected?
I havn't seen anything yet.
if you have the camera, would the alarm go off in the cameras aswell as the homebase ?
Yes, you can setup all your cameras to go off as alarms as well,
Nice video man
I was looking off at Eufy or abode
My question is if Eufy supported with HomeKit using the apple home app
Eufy is hit and miss with homekit. If you need homekit I would not use Eufy unfortunately.
Is it needed a internet connection or its goes with 4G?
It uses your home wifi
How long is the battery span on the keypad before required to charge
Ive had to charge mine every 8-9 months or so.
passive infra red sensors do not pickup movement outside through a window.
No, you won't find any battery run cameras that record 24/7/
@@DoItYourselfDad do you run your security through the eufy app. Or do up use Google or Alexa app?
To me the homebase is eufy's biggest problem. The new one can't even use wifi and must me plugged in at all times. This hurts your ability to hide what is basically the center of your home security system. I made a bypass with a wifi extender to fix that problem but it shouldn't be a problem. Love the company anker but they have a lot to address with the homebases. Also they should make it to where all your devices sound alarms. Should be optional on which one do since every camera can and the keypad has that ability as well. If you hide the homebase then it may not get found if the thieves are busy trying to pull your cameras off the wall.
I completely agree
I found my doorbell response time better wired vs wifi on my v2 base. Likely why they dropped wifi on the new one.
So.. what do I do when I come home and the key pad has run out of battery and the alarm goes off because I can't disable it?
The keypad starts giving you warnings in the app weeks before the battery dies to charge it, but if it did die, you can also disarm through the app.
How do you arm the alarm when sleeping? Just to arm downstairs?
I'm guessing you can set a customised mode so it will disable certain sensors *like your route to the keypad*
I would put the magnet on the door not the sensor. The sensor will other experience too many vibrations from the opening and closing of the door
please tell me what about jammer? can jammer disturb alarm?
If i need more sensers ?
I’m hooked on Eufy too! I just got that same system. Well, the sensors and Keypad separately since I already had a Homebase 2 with my Eufy Cam2 set. I’m super happy with all that setup. Im very nerdy too. Sadly my hometown is not as safe and we’re always on the lookout for petty and not so petty criminals or shady characters. I live in constant fear my Camera overlooking my main entrance could get stolen 😂 I hope the anti theft alarm in that bad boy works well if the day comes
@hoihoi9866 You are the life of the party, aren't ya? I was talking about the integrated alarm INSIDE the camera itself. And yes. this system has worked very well already, a couple of times to scare off suspicious people around my entrance wiseguy.
Has the issues at 13:02 been updated?
How to set up the door bell when somebody ring the doorbell your phone to ring. I'm not talking about notifications. I switched them off because I receiving 100s per day
You can make those changes in the doorbell settings, you can also change what motion it allerts to.
You can customize the notifications to not notify you of detection but will still record motion. Only time it will notify you is if they actually press the button
even safe neighborhoods in the US get burgled. my brother's house is in a high income safe neighborhood but the burglars came from the ghetto a few towns over.
So what year is your Supra?
Good eye, it's an 84.
I might lock my box away somewhere safer and hidden :D
