EVIL DEAD 2, that was the best!
The stop motion animation effects were amazing! I did like the cliffhanger ending where Ash realizes he's the chosen one to stop the Deadites.
ED2. Perfect blend of everything that makes the franchise iconic.
Mightve been the "normal chocolate" i ate but I died for about 5 minutes at Crystal trying to fix the mic. Love when random shit happens and Tony just sits back like "yup, guess we're waiting for this now" 😂😂
Evil Dead 2 will always be the grooviest
I didnt know i needed crystal in a cat suit until now. It did things to me.
CRYSTAL AND MONICA ARE HERE!!!! Hurray!
The Evil Dead, of the first “scandalous” movies my best friend showed me when we were little, so proud it was “a Michigan movie” Army of Darkness quotes became part of our ridiculous secret communication. RIP EJS
This franchise is a blast! I watched all of them for the first time last year, and I'm mad it took me so long. I really love The Evil Dead, followed closely by Evil Dead 2.
I've only seen army of darkness but I really wanna check out the first two! Should I?
@@kdusel1991 Absolutely!!
@@DissectThatFilm I'll check em out! Thanks for the recommendation!
Tony and Crystal should do an audiobook together with no second takes.
I love crystal and Monica! Crystal has beautiful eyes, but I also loved her nerdy look in the glasses. Congrats on the LASIK. Also, Tony you’re doing a kickass job, of course you have fans. Can’t wait to see you get a crack at a big budget film someday.
So happy Crystal was
In this episode
I saw Army of Darkness in the theaters,I was like 14,my friends left after 10 minutes, I stayed and thus began my love of Bruce Campbell and the Evil Dead movies!!
I saw it on Cinemax a few years back and I loved it! Now I wanna see the others!
Crystal and Cousin Monica, whoo!
How can anyone hate Crystal?😮 when her devilish smile lights up her face when she says things like "I like evil Ash", how can you not just feel happy!
Yea she's awesome
@@krisglavin2373 and she does porn now!
She was kinda annoying in a few videos awhile ago. Surprised people are still mad about it tho.
Little goody two shoes, little goody two shoes 👊💥
I have started following her in 2020 and unfollowed her a couple weeks ago because she's all like super into the gay trans the kids stuff which I don't care if someone's gay but I do not like promoting it to children
I took a date to see evil dead rise to ironically it’s actually the first real date I’ve ever been on….. it was a good night
Glad that Crystal is back. Big fan but I also think that Tony from Hack the Movies should be in every episode because he’s not in enough
Can't wait to hear your picks! Personally, I think they're all incredible movies but my favorite is probably Evil Dead 2.
My favorite is army of darkness. I really wanna see the other ones though!
I agree with Crystal. I love the movies, but the series is the best piece of Evil Dead media
TBH - I have a soft spot for 'Army of Darkness' over 'Evil Dead 2' 🥰
Dude it’s a legitimately well made film
I go between both. While I'm watching one, it's my favorite. So a constant battle
I've never seen the others, I've only seen army of darkness. I really want to tho cause I really like Sam Raimi's other work.
@@kdusel1991 see 'Darkman' too 👍😊
I mean, all of them are good to amazing but Evil Dead 2 stands tall imo.
The first one is a fun B Horror DIY film, AOD is a great Comedy Adventure film, the 2013 is a solid remake/reboot and Rise was a fun spin off film.
So I absolutely loved Evil Dead: Rise, but I did notice that they got me scared the most with two Exorcist 3 tricks, the crawling through the vent on the ceiling and the sister floating like a ghost with the blanket over her head. Job well done, but I noticed the callback.
TNT used to play “Army of Darkness” and “The Lost Boys” ALL THE TIME! I was a latchkey kid and before that was dropped off at my chainsmoking grandma that didn’t pay super close attention. So I used to watch “Army of Darkness” all the time so I can easily say I’ve seen it well over 100 times.
Can't wait to see it guys! I think the best evil dead is probably army of darkness cause that's the only one I've seen lol
I'd definitely love to see you do show retrospectives like one for Ash Vs Evil Dead. I also had the idea where you could cover each season of Stranger Things a similar way you did the first three Alien movies whenever we have an idea of when the final season is coming out
I'd watch a stranger things episode! That show's awesome!
Yaaay! Crystal and Monica!!
I love Crystal and Monica!! They're probably my second favorite female co-hosts next to Johanna/Jessica/Trisha/Kira!
As soon as this video showed up in my recommendations my reaction was - Groovy!
Hope one day we get an Ash Vs Evil Dead TV show episode!!!
That'd be cool! I've never seen it so I might have to binge it now that it's on Netflix
@@kdusel1991 it's a great show!! Hilarious as well
@@kdusel1991 They took it off Netflix on April 28th.
@@RyanAllenLocke damnit! That was on my watchlist too! I hate when Netflix and other streaming services do that!! So annoying!
@@kdusel1991 I know! Starz probably wanted it on their streaming service.
I heard on a podcast in Italy there's an unofficial sequel called Evil Dead 4 Ash vs Evil Dead is apparently going to continue as an animated series.
Evil Dead ll is the best of the bunch, and they are all equally fun to watch. However, my true favorite is the EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL.
I think Crystal is a Deadite. How else would you explain her not wearing her glasses?
The deadite possessing her probably ate em 😂
@@Beatnu3000 that's the theory I'm going with 😂😂
I've worked with Bruce Campbell on TV shows and one time me and Tony's friend Royce worked a convention in Florida and witnessed him chew out the convention promoter because, he withheld money for Bruce over autographs still owed....come to find out a worker lost them. This all happened while we were about to interview him. The camera was rolling but all we got was audio because we were hesitant to lift the camera up😂
It's surprising how much he's into talking about and continuing with the franchise, considering at the time he was trying to distance himself from the evil dead and more on his own projects, he did a q and a , and all he did was roast the audience in attendance that would constantly ask evil dead questions, extremely nice guy but money talks I guess
That's super cool!!
Does "Ash vs. Evil Dead" count? That wasn't bad either^^
Your all wrong
The only answer is Army of Darkness and i dont care otherwise
Its a prequel sequel that has horseback riding, and king arthurs court
Idk if you remember the AB button on the DVD player remove where you could loop a clip
I Clipped Henry Smashing that Deadite with a Mace
Its phenomenal
Hell yeah crystal queen I mean quin looking forward to it
I need to see Evil Dead Rise...I really appreciated Crystal's cameo EDR Halloween '23 Costume in a seperate episode.
Just saw Evil Dead Rise. It was fun. But none of them measure up to the second movie.
Crystal should absolutely cosplay as Evil Dead Rise mom.
She's a dead ringer for Alyssa Sutherland.
I dunno she looks more like Shannon Elizabeth to be honest.
I think this might be deadite crystal! She's not wearing her glasses.
Hi just found you guys! Just want to say I really enjoyed this even though I don’t really like the more slap stick evil dead’s. I prefer the more horror focused ones. Very enjoyable 😊
Only the first 5 minutes of Evil Dead 2 is really a remake, the rest of the film really does function as a sequel. The moment the sequel officially begins is when the evil entity hits Ash and sends him flying through the air.
If you watch the first Evil Dead all the way through to the end, when the entity hits him, then Jump to the scene in Evil Dead 2, where he is flying through the air, it continues fairly well.
Crystal!
Only reason Im watching Tony!
1- The evil dead, 2- evil dead rise, 3- ash vs evil dead, 4- evil dead 2013, 5- evil dead 2, 6- army of the darkness 🍷(They all good btw)
I remember when I went to see the musical Bruce Campbell in his Old Spice Outfit would open the show reclining in a giant chair reading his If Chins can Kill book. It was a great night.
I remember the first time I saw the first one I was like 6 or 7. My grandpa rented it for my grandma cuz she loved ghost and demon movies. I remember she thought it was dumb but I was terrified of the noise and voices of the deadites so I stayed away until I was in highschool. now I adore the first 2
Ash Versus The Evil Dead is such a goddamn miracle, dude. "Modern TV sequel to an 80s horror-comedy trilogy." An entirely accurate summation that inspires exactly zero faith, but it stays awesome from beginning to end, and it's not alone either. Between it, the most recent Chucky movies, and the new Halloween trilogy, I'm starting to want an "original creators come back to end things properly" revival for Nightmare On Elm Street too. And a few others, but especially Nightmare, because you need to have Robert Englund.
My dad restored a log cabin, I lived in the log cabin,it was a beautiful log cabin and had log cabin characteristics, there was a "basement" dug underneath the log cabin, it resembled the basement in the Evil Dead cabin.
KILLER episode! I agree 100% with Crystal's ranking.
It's time... to... Discuss DVDs!
This is a hilariously correct assessment of what this show is actually about
Crystal killed it
'Castzilla vs The Pod Monster' and 'Gabbin about Cabins' are my 2 favorite podcasts
Army Of Darkness also my first introduction to the franchise as a kid. At first it was on TV, i watched the intro when Ash cut off his hand, then my dad turned the tv off, because that was too graphic, but when i got on my bed, he continue watch it. In the morning, he told me that it was hilarious. Lucky several months later, it was aired again, i watched it and it was a blast. Then, years later when dvd rules at home entertainment, i get to watch Evil Dead 2, then the first movie.
Gabbing about Cabins
....literally got a audible laugh i almost dropped my tray of weed hahab😅
Army of Darkness was the first Evil Dead movie I saw as a kid and that's why it's my favourite. My personal ranking is Army of Darkness being the best, then Evil Dead 2, Ash vs. The Evil Dead, The Evil Dead, Evil Dead (2013), and then Evil Dead Rise. They've all been great to watch. Shame they never turned the game Evil Dead: Regeneration into a movie because that would've made a great alternate timeline sequel to Evil Dead 2!
2013 used 70,000 gallons of blood, but only 50,000 gallons was reported to be used in the climax.
Um damn can Crystal be any cuter 😍😂
It's an absolute crime that it's not called The Medieval Dead
You are correct 😂
"Bloody muscle bodybuilder in Hell" is the best Evil Dead movie!😁
The only problem with the Evil Dead franchise is that if you were in a cabin in the woods you would never ever read from the necronomicon ex mortis. A book written in blood and bound in human skin, you’d just never read from it.
Horror is at its scariest when it’s rooted in plausibility
I watched "The Evil Dead" with 15 (2 months before 16). I wanted to watch it so badly. This movie was banned in my country, so the desire to watch the forbidden film was even bigger. I got so much scared, i couldn't sleep. The following night i have watched "Evil Dead 2", it took the scare from the first part and made me enjoy it a lot. On the third following night i watched "Army of Darkness" and that's where i became a fan.
These 3 nights changed my entire life and i became a horror movie enjoyer. I've seen all actors in person.
Ok let’s boost some engagement - I first watched Evil Dead 2 at a friends house, smoking dope on a come-down after a rave and man, if defined the experience of being freaked out. There something about the comedy and the practical/puppet stuff that makes it even more maniacal and unreal/surreal. Like a messed up haunted house ride. Reminded me of Splatter House 2. A little humour can really set off a horror movie
Jane Levy's commitment was awesome. She was actually buried alive.
Yes do a review of the series maybe a 2 or 3 part of this
Looks like the end of October the play will be in your general area
I actually have the headphones from the trailer from Evil Dead Rise , sadly they’re super heavy and don’t sound amazing but Koss has a lifetime warranty on them so that’s pretty cool
So when are you guys going to also review intruder from 1989. It’s a slasher directed by Scott spiegel who worked with Sam and Ted raimi on evil dead. And they star in it. It’s a slasher with a grocery store as the setting. And there’s a cameo of Bruce Campbell.
I love evil dead 2 through Ash vs Evil Dead the most, these are what I'd take w/me to the desert island🏝📼
If the crew ever meets up with Bruce Campbell. They should ask Tony to apologize for the SXSW incident in front of Bruce.
Hack the movies with Tony! YESS!!
I am completely surprised that you didn't mention the episode of Creepshow S2E1 segment called Public Television Of The Dead. It features Ted Raimi and the narrator in Evil Dead 2. It's basically Evil Dead vs. Bob Ross! If you haven't seen it, watch it immediately!!!!
I saw the three books things as more of a wink at there being three different movie (for lack of a better term) timelines or it's just ED - AvED/2013/Rise.
Someone linked the movie to ash vs the evil dead when the kandarian demon splits the earth in two, it travels to LA opening the vault to the book
The original still wins out for me. Especially knowing its a stand alone film
Yay, that was me with the Supermarket Man (Suppamaketto man) comment, now I'm famous like Tony.
kyaputan
@@tsartomato そうですね
I'd go 2 for best, though army of darkness is still my favorite. Some good laughs, and the battle with the deadites was just epic
GROOVY !!!
The original is still the best.
Evil Dead 2, and there is no real argument. It's basically the first one but with more craft, money, humor, and everything. You can watch it now and still be astonished by what was pulled off 35 years ago and not as something that was pulled off 35 years ago but that was ever pulled off.
I can explain the Three Stooges thing with Evil Dead 2. They were all fans of the Stooges, and their producer Scott Spiegel turned out to actually KNOW Larry Fine from the Stooges personally, who was living at a celebrity old folks' home. Larry was surprisingly a fan of scary movies, because comedic actors apparently love horror, and got a little money to add to Evil Dead 1's budget from him that he gave to them back in what Bruce said was 1972. Then Stephen King years later caught word from a former Evil Dead crew member who was on the set of I think Maximum Overdrive that Evil Dead 2 was failing to get further funding past a former Stooge who died a few years back, so he called Dino DeLaurentiis and said "Make Evil Dead 2." That's the whole story of their finaincing journey and how Three Stooges worked their way into Evil Dead 2, and you're welcome!
I could have sworn I heard Tony call her Bubonica at least once.
I used to live in the town where the cabin was 🤠
Omg is this Shack the movies.
Tony ,I know this would be a chore but would you guys every do the best hellraiser .... i understand if you never do 😂
I think they review all of those on their bonus videos if youre a channel member
I saw Army of Darkness first, I was watching SciFi, not Syfy, and recognized the Renaissance Pictures logo from Xena so I sat down and watched it. My prized possession is the Army of Dark Chocolate mug from Bones Coffee.
aotolycus kicking medievil ass
The answer is 2.
I too choose The Evil Dead as the best!
1) The Evil Dead
2) Army
3) ED2
4) ED 13
5) Rise
I was way too young when my sister made me watched the first Evil Dead (like 6yo) and was traumatized by the cellar deadite…
The director of Rise said the voice heard on the record is a “time-displaced Ash”.
Evil Dead 2 is the best, and Id love to see yall talk about the show
Evil Dead 2. There end the video Tony
I enjoyed evil dead rise, but I couldn't figure out how old the son Danny was. He looked 15 yet had a forearm tattoo 🤷♂️
What's also really good about the movie is that I was hoping Beth (main girl) would bring back Ellie. Like finding a similar page from the 2013 requeal. But instead an awesome but sad kill. I felt bad for the mom and her family. Mainly Beth and Ellies younger daughter. I felt more connected to these new characters than the 2013.
If you watch the evil dead then start watching evil dead 2 at the point where Ash gets hit through the trees and lands in the mud puddle, the movies line up perfectly!! Jsyk
Dumbest headcanon ever.
Gabbin About Cabins.
Please do one episode just for fun.
It may simply be what i'm used to, but i think crystal in glasses looks better.
What do3s this ep have a green hue like the bad DVD of the matrix trilogy
Hello TONY,,,MONICA,,,,& The Always Wonderful Beautiful CRYSTAL 🤩🤩,,,,,EVIL DEAD 2 is The Greatest of course & I really Love The 2013 EVIL DEAD Movie,,,,EVIL DEAD RISE is Awesome 😃🤘☠️
Yes. Captain Supermarket
The personality of Ash in Army of Darkness is the Ash of the video games and show. Which is why I'd rank it as #1.
The first part of evil dead 2 is a recap. They didn't have the rights to show the original footage.
I just started it but I hope someone brings up the musical.
And there it is 🎉
