I've been waiting forever for Friday the 13th. Great to see Crystal and Joe in this episode.
I guess we'll have to wait until January 13th 2023 for 'Jason X', 'Freddy Vs. Jason' and 'Friday the 13th' Remake.

Out of these three movies, Jason Takes Manhattan has always been my favorite. I love the theme Darkest Side of the Night.

@@maloperverso8118 Nah, it was definitely more entertaining than part 7. I dread watching part 7 every time I do a marathon.
Part 8 still maintains the charm and spirit of the previous Paramount movies, so in spite of it’s own unique failings, I do kinda like it. I don’t find it as boring as many people say. It’s just not made very well.
I've been looking forward to this episode since last year's episode. These were the Friday the 13th movies I remember watching on TV alot. Kane Hodder was awesome as Jason, even if the scripts weren't that great.
Met and got Kane Hodders autograph at Spokey World one year as a kid. Wish i new what happened to it.
I think one of the reasons we have so many good public facilities, like a LOTS of great playgrounds and specialist highschools where you can concentrate or major in any number of careers before you even get to college AND we have clean tap water is because we have so many rich people here. This isn't Flint, they can't hide. So you gotta make it good for everyone.
Time to start the grassroots movement to demand Tony review the Puppet Master Movies. I'd be here for them all!

The New Blood Part VII was the first one of the franchise I ever saw.
I like his zombie look more than any other Jason.
Kane hodder was the best Jason 2 me I love 7 8 and X prolly n da minority but I love these also the remake was good 2 heck I like em all but 6 and 1 is prolly the 1s I like the least I'm weird I kno
John Kassir, who did the voice of the Crypt Keeper, has a RUclips channel. He did a theatrical version of the; "Freddy, vs. Jason, vs. Ash" comic. It's really good.

I remember Terry Kiser on an episode of Three's Company. For whatever reason, Janet and Jack were pretending to be married and wanted Terry Kiser to cut Jack off of some financial support or something. Anyway, to make Jack look bad, Janet tells Terry that he comes home every night after work and beats her. Terry shrugs his shoulders and says, "A man's gotta unwind."

I think these reviews are the best stuff on the channel . Tony, Crystal and Joe really work well together. You all seem like you are having a lot of fun and you know what are you talking about (in other reviews it doesn't seem like you are having fun all the time, which is understandable of course). It's a pleasure to watch and listen to. Thanks for all your work
I do remember seeing Jason on Arsenio Hall back when I was 9..plus he had Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan! The 80's was pretty kew.
I have all the Friday The 13th movies on Blu Ray from the Shout Factory.
Could call this The Supernatural Trilogy. With Telekinesis being in part VII. Rennie having visions of young Jason, Adult Jason being turned back into a kid at the end of part VIII. Jason being able to regenerate flesh and posses people and leap from body to body in Jason Goes to Hell.

Jason Takes Manhattan was my introduction to Jason Voorhees when I was little since then I thought he was the coolest in horror movies
Saw this Episode on my RUclips feed and immediately yelled "FUCK YES"
YAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!! It’s been a while since we have gotten a Friday the 13th Episode! CAN’T WAIT!!!!!
I remember someone did the F13 timeline. Part 1 was 1979, when it was shot. Part 2 was 5 years later, so 1984. Parts 3 and 4 picked up right after Part 2, so still 1984. Part 5, Tommy went from being 12 to about 19, so 1991. Part 6, about 2 years after part 5, so 1993. So, according to the VHS box, part 7 is taking place in 2003.
Terry Kiser has a long and surprising acting career. A damn shame that Part 7 got censored so hard but that uncut VHS footage is brutal.

Honestly I love every entry in the series for their own reasons. They all have their own unique charms. Even 9 which is pretty experimental I think has its merit. 5 is my favorite though for just being a pure exploitation movie. Don’t care that it’s not actually Jason, it’s a guy in a hockey mask killing teens. Blood and boobs are all you need sometimes.
Also you mentioned Hostel 2 at one point and seriously it rocks. Watch it again. It’s beautifully shot and some of the gory set pieces are like straight out of a giallo. I feel like your generation of horror fans are way too dismissive of the filmmakers from the 2000’s. Those guys have a dictionary level knowledge of the genre.

I have that Neca figure! Amazingly, the audio still works after all these years.
My head canon for the end of Part 8 is that it is mostly a hallucination by Rennie, who was drugged at the time and also had a history of hallucinating stuff. Jason may have been washed back out to Crystal Lake by the toxic waste (which could have fused the mask to his face if you want to tie it into the beginning of Part 9), but he didn't actually revert back to a child. That part was all in Rennie's head.
I consider the New Line trilogy to be a different continuity to the Paramount films. It's pretty much impossible to fit JGTH into the original timeline.
7 was the one I taped off Showtime & watched over & over. Love everything about it especially Jason's appearance.
It got me pumped to watch Manhattan in the theater, man what a letdown that was.

Viewing this and listening to you guys... I had to listen to (Jason's head by the Dead Milkmen) afterward as a desert.. you guys really got me in the mood
Jason X rules. It's the last movie that still feels like a "slasher" and it doesn't take itself seriously -- it knows what it is. Jason and Freddy movies should be goofy fun not grimdark serious nonsense like the remakes. Jason X and even Freddy vs Jason are goofy fun, so as far as I'm concerned, they're fine movies in their respective franchises. I'll take Jason X over 1 or 2 any day.
What makes me laugh, is after Duke from Rocky V eats Jason’s heart, and the lights start flying into his chest,

The climax of the movie starts in Piccadilly Circus & ends in Clink St? How’d it get there in SECONDS? It would’ve taken that werewolf at least 45mins to walk there!😄

The reason all masks after 5 still had the notch from the axe was the writers letting the viewer know it's Jason and not another Roy Burns under the mask. It was supposed to be a promise to fans that they wouldn't pull another copycat after the backlash from Roy.

I think some fan had figured that by the time of 8 it’s like 2002 or some shit. I guess Batman 89 had a revival event going on.
Anyway, I have a theory on the many discrepancies with Jason.
1. The boy in the lake is part 1 is a ghoul, who can’t leave the lake.
2. Between one and part 2 the ghoul possesses the Paul Bunyan looking dude. Allowing him to move about. Paul Bunyan went on a camping trip, got too close to the lake.
3. Jason’s spirit is in this man’s body all the way through 8, when the body is finally destroyed leaving the boy at the bottom of the sewer.

An alternate ending for part 7 I came up with is that Tina bringing back her father was all a dream. After Tina and Nick are taken away, the authorities climb out of the basement with a massive body bag. This is a good way to set up a sequel where Jason ends up in New York but it's a better version, in which Jason makes his way through the city all the way back to the old Camp site.

Even in 89 manhattan was a raging cesspool...wasnt until like 94 when it started cleaning up...
Part 7 has to be the one I watched the least, even though this is the coolest looking and acting Jason of the series arguably. Although Kane Hodder simply is Jason just like Robert England is simply Freddy, I think the scariest Jason is in part 3, not so much the actor who played him (although good), just from those scenes where he had his mask off and sneered at the girl lol, creeped me tf out as a kid so much!
Blood and Boobs - that is what i want in my slasher films too - though the Friday 13th Part VII Jason looks fantastic and Kane Hodder is the best so far, it is totally lame in the Blood and Boobs arena. Unfortunately the MPAA cutting out all the SPFX gore really destroyed the film - the MPAA ruined it ... it is still ok for the Carrie vs Jason aspect - but the edited out SPFX gore really dampens the whole film. What a pity it cannot be released with the gore footage back in... and Boobs!

I was never a fan of New Blood or Jason Takes Manhattan, but JGTH was the first one I was aware of as a kid, and the first I ended up seeing, so I have a huge soft spot for it despite how insane it is. It's so bonkers but I love it, and I love Jason's look. For years when I would draw Jason, it was based on this look.

Magic dagger on a pole match
Part VIII is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. One time my friends and I were getting ready to go eat, but Part VIII just started, and I told them we had to wait and see Jason kick the boom box. Unfortunately, it had been awhile since I had watched it and I forgot how late in the movie it was, but it was worth it to show my friends the greatest scene in film history.
I also like in Jason Goes to He'll how they retcon Crystal Lake to be in Ohio and they take him to a morgue in Youngstown, right here in the Mahoning Valley. Also, I guess that means Springwood must be pretty close by too.
One small change that I think wouldn’t improved Jason Goes To Hell:
Have a moment toward the end, where Jason grabs Steven, and is about possess him, Steven putting him his arms to hold them back,
When Jason stops,
And grabs Steven’s hands,
Seeing both hands have broken fingers,
And dropping him.
The implication being, Duke intentionally broke Steven’s fingers because he knew Jason would see him as an unsuitable host.
My favorite will always be 2,3,4,6,7 . That’s only one I own and that’s only one I rewatch .

Part, 2, 3, 4 take place 5 years after part 1. Which takes place in 1979 and Tommy was 12 in part 4. Joe say that Tommy is most likely a teen and I think he is 17 in part 5 because I feel like that most of the teens in Friday the 13th are supposedly around 17. Which means that part 5 is in 1989. Tommy in part 6 looks to be a in his early 20s (20-24) which means that part 6 is in either in 1992-1996. And part, 7, 8, 9 have to take place before 2003 because Freddy dead takes place in 1999 and in Freddy vs Jason the characters say Freddy been gone for 4 years. So part, 7, 8, 9 have to take before 2003.

Regarding part 8: All lakes have at least one creek or river going through it. So the boat drifting from crystal lake to a harbor with the cruise ship is not all that farfetched for me. Also, the director wanted to establish that crystal lake was haunted and Jason was alwaus a supernatural presence from the beginning (instead of just since part 6). When he gets on the boat and gets away from the lake, the haunt starts to go wonky and thats why hes able to teleport and what supposedly causes the visions of young Jason. Also why his death at the end is so weird. Was basically supposed to be the crystal lake curse being lifted for good
In the novelization of Friday 5, Roy Burns was possessed by Jason due to his need for revenge over the death of a disabled child (Jason was a disabled child as well). This makes Roy an avatar of Jason and not simply an imitator.
For example, the act of pulverizing a human head with his bare hands is approximately twice as much force as an ordinary human can deliver (around 3000 newtons). Roy received many injuries that would be fatal to a normal human (being hit by a plow at about 30 mph, then just walking off like it was nothing). It was only the removal of the mask that seemed to return him to normal, causing all of the previous injuries to instantly kill him.
So, the possession seemed to grant Roy inhuman strength and durability. Even the drugs a paramedic had access to wouldn't really do to Roy what Roy was doing in the movie.
If you clods remebered anything. Jason can leave the lake. In part 2 he goes into the city and not only murders the chick that survived the original, but also hides her body well enought that shes a "missing person".
As soon as I was about to comment how he teleports in Manhattan, the host briefly mentioned it:)

I got to meet the Doctor from part 7 at Cryptic-con in Sea-Tac. I felt bad because I didn’t buy anything from his table.
Part 7 is my favorite but you guys dropped a lot gems that I didn’t know they did or took out the film especially when the father came back an pulled Jason in the water. Would been cool if the father was decade give it more a sinister feel
despite how the movie makes it seem, Jason is NOT in the lake when she kills her dad as a little girl, and it's NOT 10 years later, we are in 1988, and part 8 is 1989 no matter what anyone says

I watched the first three Puppet Masters last year. I wanted to pull what little hair I have left out. I hated myself for trying to muscle through thee of those.
However, I love Friday the 13th movies!
I've always hated Jason goes to Hell, but when you mentioned Evil Dead... I crossfaded the two and now I dig it.
Jason as essentially a deadite is interesting, especially for the 9th movie in the franchise. It took a lot of chances with pretty satisfying results.
