I never thought there would be a day when AVGN itself became nostalgic. Remember when the idea of reviewing old games seemed like a unique idea? Nobody did it better then James.

In the original idea for Ghostbusters, Dan Akroyd has stated the original plot was that the Ghostbusters were already an established company with multiple HQs around the world. They'd have equipment shops, more vast locations, and insane contraptions they'd use, along with being a much darker tone

Doom Man the silver surfer game confused the hell out of me. I am a bit of a comic nerd, and the surfer is one of my favorites: he is imbued with the Power Cosmic, has Cosmic Awareness, can fly at the speed of light, has complete mastery of energy projection, and is basically ageless. The fact that the NES game made him seem so damn week pissed me off and confused the fuck out of me. The irony is real.

Maybe talk to someone who has been thru it and gotten over , or a mentor , or read a few books on grief. I know it sounds dumb , but it can make a difference. I have a friend who never dealt with his mom dying and 10 years later it still gives him trouble because he never dealt with it or faced it.

In 2021, Ghostbusters: Afterlife hit the big screen after making it's debut in 2021 with an official trailer in 2019. It scored big on Rotten Tomatoes scoring a 94% rating with a 7/10 on the IMDb page. However for me, looking back on a Nostalgic AVGN video that debuted February 27, March 20, and April 3, of 2007 based on the game based on the movie and finding out that James Rolfe actually PREDICTED the premise of the 3rd movie a whole 14 years earlier will forever go down in the pages of Nerd History!
I just watched all 16 seasons and now im starting again. This is the only series where I can do that.

In case you were wondering, the Nintendo Power page he stapled shut was the jar of toenail clippings (yes, the same one he shows). I paused the frame, looked up a .pdf of the issue of Nintendo Power (Volume 82, March 1996), because I had to know. So, to me, this means one of two things: 1) Either the ad was run mulitple times in different issues of the magazine (I didn't check other issues looking for it) or 2) He filmed the segment about stapling the pages shut before filming the ad showing the toenail clippings. But I don't know. Add it to the list of AVGN unsolved mysteries.
Why not just ask him?

Honestly I would just consider all of James content as simply timeless. Like even 20 years or more later it's worth coming back to. Kind of like how he describes some atari games vs tiger games. James is truly classic and now matter how many times you view his content you can always come back to it. I want to meet him someday.

+Poketto it's pure laziness, they could of retooled the feature to get more use out of it, but it's RUclips so they axed another good feature. People still make video responses but cannot attach them.
