Twilight-Tober Zone is such a great extension of The Twilight Zone for me, I love the show and I didn’t have anyone to share it with until this series.
@@KillswitchEngage2010 I get that, especially if you haven’t seen the show or movie before. But I’ve seen the twilight zone many times and for me it’s nice to listen to someone else’s thoughts about it, and I love learning about behind the scenes stuff.
This year will go thru all of season 4 and end on season 5's A Kind of Stopwatch. Nightmare at 20,000 feet will be the penultimate episode. And arguably the last of the "iconic" episodes. My question is will they really wait another year just to finish that year 5 episodes shy of the end of season 5?
I’m so happy to see your videos about the twilight zone. I saw many new as a child and was a great fan of the twilight zone and outer limits. I liked them better than cartoons. My favorite episode is the hunt, as a dog loving Christian outdoorsman it really resonates with me. The end where he enters heaven with his beloved dog always leaves me in tears.
I can't believe that it's officially Twilight Tober Zone Season again. I always get excited towards the end of September, and know that we'll soon be blessed with Walter's fantastic, concise videos, once again! 🥰

I discovered this channel’s Twilight Tober Zone videos last year, quickly got caught up, and have been waiting an entire year for its return. I’m really excited that October is now just a week away.
Every time I watch "To Serve Man" I always have these lingering thoughts about what those aliens would do to prepare the humans for cooking. Then I always imagine this big dining room with all the Kanamits sitting down smiling and waiting their feast. Gives me the willies.
Austin Green, who played Abe Lincoln in The Passerby, made a career on playing Lincoln both on stage and on television. Mostly due to his very strong resemblance to Lincoln.
i can NOT wait for the next twilight-tober edition! love this show, the modern remakes arent bad but there's just something about the rod serling original...
My boyfriend had never seen any twilight zone, so I decided to fix that this year! I’ve been watching these videos to get ideas for what episodes to show him, and we’ve thoroughly been enjoying ourselves! This is a great little guide to the series. For my money, It’s a Good Life is the scariest episode of the series. As someone with OCD, trying NOT to think certain things is one of the hardest things of all. The idea of having to do so under threat of death is even scarier.
Finally. I didn't know anything about that series till last year when I started watching the universal monsters in chronological order. And one episode popped in my recommendations. Ever since I've watched the entire thing (more than once) and have been counting down the months.
Oh man, I totally forgot Twilight-Tober Zone was coming up. So, looking forward to it again now! I always love it when series are covered by people who obviously have love for it and think highly of it. And it's TZ, it's just incredible. Still to this day. So, here's looking forward to October 1st :) Thanks Walter and whomever else works on these videos (if anyone else does, could be all Walter, who knows!)
@2:03 "William Windon .. who could forget his look of horror and acid like visuals in Star Trek ; The Doomsday Machine? Brilliant emotional deconstruction by that actor in this Five Characters in Search of an Exit review! Well Done
The Passers-By, James Gregory is great. I have been watching a lot of Barney Miller series, and his character is SO much different. He had such a range in his career.
Yes, prekrasniy (36:15) means "very beautiful" or "excellent" in Russian. But she has a really heavy American accent. The R is clearly an English R, and the A should be closer to the A in the English word "large" to sound authentic.
Watching the show is magical. Seeing clips and hearing your commentary, is heart wrenching. But I understand, to see the show in its entirety, we must pay.
Now that October is drawing ever closer, just can't wait to see what we'll have in store for us next month! You guys are simply the best you know that?!
I remember hearing a scary story one Halloween during elementary school like the grave. It was about a girl who had been dared to leave something on a dead woman’s grave to show she was there, and when she felt something grab her, her friends got scared away, thinking it was the dead woman. When they checked on her in the morning, they found her dead from the cold, with her dress caught on a twisted branch near the grave
I like the lighter more humorous episodes which you don't seem to appreciate. It is my favorite all time tv show I found it as a child, and it enlightened me and helped me to love sci-fi and fantasy. I appreciate your take on the series. This show tickled me and sometimes frightened me as a child.
@38:44: I'd recommend "Two" for the actors. Macho Charles Bronson shows some range. He was a better actor than some gave him credit for, with little opportunity to show it. Elizabeth Montgomery also shows she could act here, just a couple of years away from "Bewitched". Later dramatic work was uniformly excellent.
Where do I begin? Recently lived a Twilight Zone moment. By necessary coincidence, I found your tober Zone, before it happened, I had a "Twilight Zone " experience 5 days ago, and I'm still shaky from the journey. No stimulates involved, it was some Outer Limits, Twilight Zone dimension, where all I could do was " Observe" like a helpless spectator. Your tober Zones, really helped prepare me, with the aftermath of where I've been. THANK YOU. More than you know. I'm finding there are others who know what it is actually like. Some Empaths, feel beyond life, like the Twilight Zone of the Outer Limits. Stay tuned.
I have been waiting SO LONG (at least it seems that way) for this years Twilight-Tober. I really enjoy this series. This literally made my day when it came across my feed. I was like "YESSSSSSSSS!!!". As always, I'll pray we get another one next year! Thanks for making em!
That Psalm about the fool used to scare me when I was little because of how our church used to sing it.They would sing it all low and soulful 'the foo~ooo~ool...' then lift their voices high and soulful 'SAID IN HIS HEART!... ooo~...THERE IS NO GOD!...'. It was wonderful but it got me like the 'twinge of fear' line from Disney's Hunchback🥶

My comment is just a comment that you more than likely didn’t take the time to read through. But if you did, it might be because you’re already… In the twilight zone.
I'm new to this channel, who is Walter in relation to the main person I've seen Doug? Also I love this format of a compilation and really enjoy your breakdown and narration style. Have a good day everyone.
Ironically, as it was common for most actors who played Nazis at the time, Oscar Beregi was a Hungarian Jew and he lost alot of his family during the Holocaust.
Gladys Cooper made two more TZ appearances after Nothing in the Dark, appearing in Passage on Lady Anne and again starring in Night Call. Being 75 and 76 at the time of Passage on Lady Anne and Night Call, she became the oldest person ever to appear on Twilight Zone, beating the previous record held by Ed Wynn since One for the Angels.
Walter, superb job with this. Extremely entertaining and informative to watch. Well done and thankyou for your work. Hope to see you do the 80s Zone as that series has some real gems.
Up until Jack Klugman's death on 24 December 2012, A Game of Pool was a unique episode of the original series as it was the final episode that all of the actors who appeared in it were still alive. Not counting Rod Serling, who cannot be counted as an actor. Sadly, just over 3 months later on 11 April 2013 Jonathan Winters also passed away.
i know this would be more pertinent for the specific episode, but im enjoying these compilations so much, dont really feel like searching for it lol... Anyway, while TO SERVE MAN is a classic, and you've reviewed it for us masterfully, i dont think ive ever heard anyone say what ive felt about this one moment, after the 2nd or 3rd time i saw the episode, and cant get out of my head ever since. In fact, i think this episode would've been somehow MORE beloved, and a helluva majority pick for best episode ever. I would've ABSOLUTELY taken out the 4th wall break, that of course came with the now cliche/cheesy line "i'll bet youre wondering how I got here.." lol The tension, dread, and mysterious nature of the episode would've been cranked up even more, pinning the needle on the proverbial meter haha... yeah yeah, sure, he couldve been anywhere, he could've been a US prisoner for messing up the fruitful relationship with the aliens, he couldve been a stowaway, muckin everything up.. but everyone's 1st instinct would of course be "well these aliens are NOT to be trusted...." As such, you're waiting and looking for evil intentions, instead of appealing to people's trust and hope and willingness to not judge, etc.... i could see it dividing folks who havent seen it even to this day, until the big reveal. I'm sure it woldnt have been 50/50 division, but with no real hint, regardless of how vague the beginnng actually is, im certain it wouldve added a lot more to an already excellent episode
While there is absolutely no doubt that Nazis like Lutze commited horrible crimes there during the war, on the day of liberation of Dachau American soldiers also committed a war crime when they lined up and executed almost every camp guard that was left behind when they arrived, supposedly as an response to all the dead bodies they found which Nazis did not manage to get rid of before.
What Elizabeth Montgomery said was Прекрасны, and Montgomery did pretty well with pronouncing it. It means ‘beautiful’, like [that is] beautiful, so she’s definitely talking about the dress.
The Grave is a very old story with a million variations both in writing and filming. I don't think anyone really gets to claim full credit for the premise.
Main problem they had with making Once Upon a Time was Buster Keaton's advanced age, as he was 66 at the time of making it and he had serious health problems, from which he ultimately fully recovered, before succuming to lung cancer just five years later.
honestly in 'the quality of mercy' i can't even tell he's wearing any make up. if you just told me they stuck him in a japanese uniform and told you to go with a suspension of disbelief i'd buy it
Supposedly, to make the whole episode more emotional as it went on, none of the actors were told of the the ending in Five Characters in Search of an Exit until it was literally time to film it. Producers wanted their reactions throughout the episode to be as genuine as possible and alot of them were improvised on the spot by the actors.
The Fugitive marked one of seven episodes in which the future stars of Beverly Hillbillies appeared on TZ. In this case, Nancy Kulp played Aunt Agness. Raymond Bailey appeared in Escape Clause, Back There and From Agnes-With Love, Buddy Ebsen in Prime Mover and Donna Douglas as revelaed Janet Tyler in Eye of the Beholder and in Cavender is Coming.
Two notes: Actor Claude Akins' ("The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street" and "The Little People") last name is pronounced "AY kins," rhymes with "bacons." Secondly, the "Potomac Club" (from "The Silence") is pronounced "puh TOE muck," after the river in Washington DC.
While Bill Mumy and Cloris Leechman reprised their roles in 2002, being the only two actors who portrayed same characters in two different TZ incarnations, John Larch was not invited to appear in the sequel, even though he was also still alive in 2002. His photo can be seen in sequel, however, acknowledging existence of his character in the past

Man I love this series, it pairs perfectly with any visit to the Twilight Zone.
Not gonna lie. Last year's marathon is gonna be a tough act to follow. You covered most of the iconic episodes. Here's hoping this year's is good.
This year will go thru all of season 4 and end on season 5's A Kind of Stopwatch. Nightmare at 20,000 feet will be the penultimate episode. And arguably the last of the "iconic" episodes. few shows have a twist in nearly every episode. let alone remain rewatchable 60+ years later.

If I got to be in the Twilight Zone I would love to be the narrator, the mysteriousness of who they are and why they are there always intrigues me
Why is this better then watching the show? Thanks!
I don't think it's better. This series is pretty much "Walter reads the Twilight Zone companion" with an occasional sketch
It's a good supplement but is in no way a replacement.

I’m glad I’ve heard even one other person recognize the brilliance that is the obsolete man

I like the lighter more humorous episodes which you don't seem to appreciate. It is my favorite all time tv show I found it as a child, and it enlightened me and helped me to love sci-fi and fantasy. I appreciate your take on the series. This show tickled me and sometimes frightened me as a child.
Thank you for your hard work! Great stuff!
@3:07:40: "To Serve Man". My fave. Well-acted, dark, and hilarious. If you know anyone who's never seen it, do them a favor and watch it together.
@38:44: I'd recommend "Two" for the actors. Macho Charles Bronson shows some range. He was a better actor than some gave him credit for, with little opportunity to show it.
