Curious how the process for this works. Do you submit a draft as a test upload and just see what gets flagged so you know what needs tweaking back in software?
@@jerrys.9895 more or less, yeah. Once a video is done, I'll upload a first "take" and see what kind of claims pop up. Then I'll head back to the editing software and make adjustments as needed. Sometimes I can get a video cleared in 2, maybe 3 takes, but other times it doesn't seem to matter how many takes I do, the detection system manages to always find something to block the video for, and that's when it gets tricky. (both LOTR and The Dark Knight videos were like this) But I'm working through it on this one, trying to find the trick so that the videos can be public, and also still watchable.
@@ThePrimeTheater thanks for doing that. I've seen some creators (FilmJoy springs to mind) that get around content ID using filters, overlays, and tilt-shifting, but that only works when you make it a style choice. If you're trying to highlight to look of the source, that's rough.
Star wars means a lot to me. It defined my childhood, hell it WAS my childhood. This trilogy will always hold a special place in my heart. I. Have. Never. Clicked. Faster. For real this made all the sense in the world. I haven’t pressed play yet but my body is so ready. See ya’ll on the other side 😊
Excellent job!! I was fortunate enough to have seen Star Wars on opening weekend in May 1977 for my 6th Birthday and remember leaving the theater absolutely blown away!! Never before or since have I seen people leave a theater and immediately get back in line to see it again!!
Your video was there for me when I was in despair about the second Trump election. You provided me with the immersion in something fun, nostalgia trip to a happier time, and just plain pleasant distraction that I sorely needed. Thank you for that!
Unexpected prime retrospective released on a Saturday? After a long work week with its joys, struggles, anxieties, accomplishments and failures, Sometimes a quiet Saturday night with the perfect thing to watch is as about as good as it gets, but when it’s a new prime theater retrospective it transcends into somethin more. Almost like medicine for the soul.
Great job! I am 56 was 11 years old when empire strikes back was out blown away that these movies are even more popular today in the year 2024! I still have the toys till this day and love them like I was 11 years old at that time! 😊
Man, compared to today, the creativity and risk that making this first movie had...wow. it's had to imagine, but the original Star Wars, without any context or cultural relevance...I mean it sounds insane. The opening, with the music and slow scrolling text was genuinely brilliant.
Oh, boy. The comments for later entries in this retrospective are gonna be... Harsh. But still, I love Star Wars, and it's very ironic that the year of The Acolyte would also turn out to be one of the better years for this undead franchise: The Bounty Hunter and Dark Forces remasters, an exquisite LEGO miniseries, and a rerelease of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace that I was 100% there for because this was also the year I rediscovered my love of the property. Star Wars will always be one of the quintessential fantasy franchises. It's been through ups, downs, all-arounds, and has been going through this endless asteroid field of highs and lows since 1977.
I get spoiled by how good your videos are to the point that I cant watch any other retrospectives. Keep up the fantastic work you're gonna blow up soon fam
I've been a Star Wars fan all my life, but the only release of the saga I was alive for was Revenge of the Sith. As a result, I've always had trouble looking at the franchise from the perspective of someone who was there when the original trilogy came out, and this video with its beat-by-beat telling of the events of the movies is probably the best anyone else has been able to do that for me.
just a note to say. thank you for this wonderful video, well made, well cut and well narrated! you should be the next steven spielberg! keep up the good work!

This was brilliant ! I got very emotional several times during this, to my surprise. During the synopses I got so into it my palms were sweating ! 😂I saw this in 1977, it was astonishing.
This is very well done. I've watched a lot of "retrospective" videos but none by you. That being said, this is one of the best I have seen. It's mix of information and story telling along with some mild comedic sections that poke fun at some questionable story elements are blended together nearly perfectly. Expert narration which seamlessly moves forward through the first few films. I will watch more of your videos as well as give you a thumbs up and subscribing. Nicely done, or to quote Darth Vader, "Most impressive".
I was born in May of 1979, just as Empire was being shot. I’m told by my parents that it was the first movie that I was ever in a theater for in 1980. Of course my parents were the ones seeing it, and I was just an infant, likely either sleeping, crying, or completely unaware of anything happening around me. But still, with how much I’ve loved Star Wars over the years, or at least the original trilogy, I like to tell that story. Almost as if it was engrained into me from the start. Oddly, I never even saw Jedi in theaters, only being four at the time, but I grew up watching the original trilogy on VHS tapes on our home TV, recorded in horrible resolution pan-scan video, mono audio, commercials mixed in, and likely edited for television. But still, I loved it and watched certain scenes like the attack on Hoth over and over again, wearing the tape out. So when the originals were finally re-released in theaters from January to March of 1997, all cleaned up, I absolutely lined up. Today I have my thoughts on the “enhancements” Lucas made, mostly negative, but back then I loved them all. Fast-forward to fall of 1998, and I was at a huge movie theater with a friend. In a very early internet age, I had heard absolutely nothing about any more Star Wars movies. But as we were walking through the theater, we caught a glimpse of that simple, but unmistakable first teaser poster, of a young Anakin casting a shadow of Darth Vader, with simply the text “Episode I” below it. Our minds were blown! We couldn’t stop staring at it. We asked questions of the theater’s customer service desk about it, even hoping to have the poster afterward. Ha! Fat chance. They told us that they even removed it each night to avoid it being stolen. When the movie came out in May of 1999, my friend and I had already bought tickets to two separate showings; one at midnight and one the same day at 10am in the larger THX certified theater. The story goes on from there, but it’s crazy the amount of influence Star Wars has had on my life.
100k is on it’s way! And well deserved with many more on the way! These videos are amazing! Glees up the good work! I always look forward to these videos

But even so, thank you for the video, and look forward to seeing more videos like this one.

Fantastic job on this! Seriously, great job. Adjusted for inflation, the original Star Wars film still ranks as the second highest grossing film of all time. It sits second only to Gone With the Wind. I was 8 years old when I saw the original in the theater in 1977.
