The scene where Julia returns in Fallout and the following exchange is one of the best scenes in the entire franchise. It's so unexpected and unlooked for that it jolts you into attention. Legit one of the best modern action franchises, the fact that it's been going for well over 20 years now is so incredibly impressive. Great video bro, genuinely really fucking good.
This movie came out when I was in middle school. I forgot how I did it but I got the theme song onto a cassete tape that I would take with me and my walkman to school. Great presentation!!! Makes me want to rewatch the series
Was so surprised when I read that in the comments. Like how? I even thought that this must be a school project or thesis or something because it's so much work for something free.

Tom Cruise is absolutely INCREDIBLE. Not just for these gorgeous, intricate stunts but for his discipline, worth ethic, and passion for filmmaking and the fans of movies. He is one of a kind and we are all so lucky to watch him on screen! There is no question about how justified and right he was to (kindly) raise his voice…he was funding the project, paying for the crew who broke rules thus endangering the entire production and the rest of the folks on set. He had every right to lose his cool… which he still did so with absolute respect for the set and those around him. He’s the man ❤
This is hands down one of the very best retrospectives I have ever seen… I was hooked from the beginning.. in fact, you had me more hooked and on the edge of my seat then most Netflix productions lately… well done… well done…
Aw, you passed over the head bomb at the end of MI3. It's my favorite part and I'm tensed the whole time. his wife stepping up to take on some goons on her own, while being smart and resourceful. And the complete trust that Ethan has to put in her is the emotional peak of the movie.
I watched the first 6 movies for the first time over the course of the last week and watched Dead Reckoning Part 1 yesterday in a Dolby cinema. I absolutely loved it, it’s one of my favourite franchises now. They’re so fun, so epic and Tom Cruise, whom I haven’t really watched all that much of, is incredible in all of them. Thank you for making this video! It gives me another 2hrs of Mission: Impossible to consume 😅
I don't especially enjoy the third movie, but that's the great thing about the M:I series: there's so much variety that every viewer can find one suited to their tastes. And that scene on the bridge is PERFECTION.
That was easily one of the absolute BEST videos I've ever seen. I'm a content creator and know all about the process of editing, writing dialogue etc. I can't even begin to imagine how long that took you to put together, but you should be EXTREMELY proud!! There are not enough superlatives to say. Congratulations on this.
I can't even imagine how hard it would be for you to make these retrospective videos, I really appreciate it, please consider Fast and Furious movies as well for your retrospective, Love your videos
I LOVE Ghost Protocol. It's so fun, I show it to everyone when I want them to get into MI or have a good time. Also, I really wish Jane got to come back she was an excellent addition to the team while exuding this great earnestness and I liked the way she and Ethan played off each other (Also her kicking that woman out the window was amazing). It also made me wonder why we never see Paula in more films like this. edit: I forgot to add, I just came across this video, I love people enthusiastically talking me through films. This video is well done and I immediately subscribed, can't wait to check out the previous ones and what's to come.
What I love about this film series though is that it seems like it always just improves upon itself after the 2nd film. They try to keep things that work, they toss things away that don't, they seem to genuinely love this franchise and care and it shows.
I love these movies so much, Ethan Hunt is definitely one of my inspirations/heroes even now as an adult! Thank you for this video essay, you did it justice!
Not only do you script well thought out and funny reviews, you also conduct thorough research and bring light to behind the scenes stories, pre production, cinematography and even music composition. It shows your vast interest in the art of film as a whole and how much knowledge you have in the subject. This was a true joy to watch and listen to. Thank you 🙏🏼
mission: impossible is arguably (maybe even objectivly) the greatest action film saga there is. i got into it few months ago, and with Fallout, i - not hope - but *believe* dead reckoning will somehow - against all odds - _burn out the fuse_ with a bang! but while there's still a waiting period before release, your retrospective likely rekindled the exitement! i like your enthusiastic but straightforward approach, and the helpful information of the trails and tribulations the filmskers had to go though with the production each film (phew); especially with how you presented each film topping the last: it feel impossible that the next installment can outpreform the last, but then throwing our assumtions out the window, every time. and i appericiate how you translated that feeling into words, it kept it engaging. the twist with the conclusion was clever. i was expecting a boring sponser segment, but it's really just giving credit and thanks to the source material. thank you for the dreadful time it must've took to write, voice, and edit this - and you my friend for taking time to read! (i did ramble too long, and despite that i still wanted to add few more things) good luck to your future endeavours, Prime! or... you're future *missions,* _should you choose to accept them._ c;
You failed to mention the fact that Tom Cruise gets a hefty percentage of the grosses that these movies take in at the box office. Not that he doesn't earn it, with all the amazing practical stunts that he's managed to pull off! His total now for the 6 M.I. movies must be around $1Billion U.S. He deserves to be given an honourary Academy Award for giving audiences such thrilling experiences over the past 40+ years!
I rarely want to cry about anything but something about the interaction between Ethan, Elsa, and Julia gets me everytime. so many movies fail to hit me in the feels sometimes the acting sucks, or the dialogue is weak, or the whole story just isnt gripping enough but Rouge Nation and Fallout are such gritty real masterpieces with excellent acting, dialogue, and storytelling it never falls to move me. in every scene with Elsa and Ethan and Julia you can just see it in their faces and body language, hear it in their voices how real that connection they have is. You might think it was really real until you realized its just a movie its such a great plot thread
I loved the first one, think I was like 10 when it came out but somehow missed all the rest of them until recently. I have only seen parts 1-5 I think, this makes me keen to finish them off. I hated tom cruise for most of my adult life, but I have really come around to him the last few years. Yeah he’s a bit crazy but he is so talented and dedicated and hard working, it’s incredible how much talent he has.
I've never understood why intense people are hated. I guess I come from the side of the fence where a lot of people around me are intense A type personalities. So I 'get' them. They are certainly intense and that can unsettle people, but they are passionate about what they do, and Tom Cruise is just living his life. We need to separate celebrities' personal lives from their crafts. Or we'd set unrealistic expectations for people that we don't even set for ourselves.
Fantastic Retrospective, even the inclusion of the comic book, which by the way, the first printing of them was asked to be recalled and destroyed because Tom dislikes one of the panels. Paramount called up Marvel and told them, As the legend goes... "Tom would be unhappy" if this went out. The panel was changed and a new print run was issued. There is a hand full out in the wild. Again great Retrospective and it makes me want to go back and see these again.
An incredible franchise that gets better and better, my favorite MI movies are Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation, they’re cleaner and sleeker. That Burj Kalifa scene still takes my breath away.
I loved all M:I films, even 2! And it's my favorite because of that one shot when Tom jumps off the bike, and when they're both coming at each other, and right before- he turns to the camera and goes, "This mission: it just got a hell of a lot more impossibler." Boom! And then they did the hit!
As a Norwegian, my favorite consequence of this franchise has been Norway's obsession with the movie. Still now, years later we see headlines like "Tom Cruise flew over this village during filming!". A cafe near pulpit rock changed the name of the 'bolle' pastry into a new treat called "Mission Impossi-bolle". They even hosted a screening of the movie ON pulpit rock. You'd think a god visited the place, but no we're just starstruck over Tom Cruise.
The funniest thing is when MI2 came out I was like 11 or 12 and I loved it. And then 3 came out when I was in high school and actually working at the movie theater at the time and it was one of those movies that whenever I took a break at work I was sitting in the back of the theater for MI3. Such a step up in every way
The first 1996 Mission Impossible will always be my favorite. The subtlety of everything is just perfect. The stunts are fantastic and the set pieces are *chef's kiss*. I wish they'd go back to that.
That movie has a gajillion plot holes... the Helicopter sequence makes zero sense as, even IF one can suspend disbelief that it fits in the tunnel, the belief is broken as soon as the other train comes by, the helicopter barelt fit and was in the center of the tunnel... not only would the turbulence make it impossible to remain in control, I physics also dictate the train would hit the bloody thing... further, how filarious it is that moments after Ethan fools Claire w mask causing her to believe he is Jim... his own wife. That then utilizing a camera for Kitrich to see Jim and he just believes its Jim....sure it is... but its less than a couple minutes after Ethan was wearing a mask passing himself off as Jim. Oh and catching that bead of sweat w Ethan sprawled out to balance himself would be impossible... and not mission impossible... as in literally impossible. Thats the shortlist. That movies got problems galore... nevermind that they actually perform the stunts now rather than relying on blue and greenscreen. Thus why the films have increased in mainstream embrace and critical acclaim... oh yea but they should go back to plot hole city...lol GTFO
I never thought I would sit and watch a 2+ hour RUclips video, but here I am, having done it twice, well, almost since technically, the Star Wars one falls a little under 2 hours. You really have a knack for grabbing my attention and keeping it. Great job!
I gotta say, I didn't think I liked these movies until I watched this. I took the trip down memory lane. Pretty cool. Also, I never really knew what the plot for any of these movies was until now, so that helps.
They're very fun movies that have alot of throwbacks to classic films, specifically Hitchcock and Alan Pakula. Also, they're all made by great directors.
My God! What an amazing video, so well put together, so easy to understand and follow, and so complete, thank you so much for it!!!! Your energy is quite unique. Personal favorites MI3 and Fallout
I'm only 20 minutes in, but I have to say another outstanding retrospective dude! I can't believe you don't have more subscribers. May I suggest (and I'm sure I'm not the 1st) taking on the Tolkien saga? Edit. Nowv that I've finished it...😄
@@ThePrimeTheater If I have to make a critique, it's calling the enemy "evildoers". I mean, sure, they're presented as evil in the series, but they're mostly just officials and bureaucrats of competing powers. If the show was about spying on Americans officials you wouldn't call their targets evildoers.
Overall a great film series. Ghost Protocol might be my favorite, followed by Fallout. Also to me MI:2 is a time capsule, it's very new millennium/mtv generation and I enjoy it as well.
Ghost Protocol was such a smart move. Brad Bird was a perfect choice. He brought all that 60’s tv espionage nostalgia that he used for the Incredibles, harkened back to the original tv series, but then found a way to modernise it for the crazy ‘always bigger’ attitude Tom Cruise was applying to the movies, and it worked so well. Totally set them up for the Christopher McQuarrie run, and now it feels like they’re just in full on Tom Cruise running stride
@@Micke12312 ha! Agreed. I was a teen learning guitar at the time, so the Metallica track contributed a LOT to my enjoyment. It’s objectively dumb and cheesy, but has SO MUCH personality as a stand alone (even if that personality is dumb and cheesy). Won’t ever hold up to a new viewer today, but I’m so glad it exists
There are very few 2 hour long YT videos worth seeing to the end. This was never boring and the pacing and presentation was very well done. Salute. You did the series and yourself justice.
This was incredibly well done! I especially liked your own humour thrown in, from the "known Nazi sympathiser" to the question of TC's immortality. Genuinely had me laughing out loud. Bravo sir.
Tom Cruise in pitch meeting for Mission Impossible series: "Ok hear me out. Imagine this. Die Hard..... but it gets better with each movie instead of worse".
First of all, fantastic material!! Thanks so much for putting you time and effort into it! I’m having so much fun watch it! Second of all, OH MY GOD MISSION IMPOSSIBLE COMPLETE RETROSPECTIVE!!! How is that even possible? No one is talking about MI. I love love love Mission Impossible! Always have since the day I watched MI2 (I’m a 90’s kid, that was my entry point) I didn’t knew much about movie making back then but I adored the movie! Now, after so many years I can only appreciate them even more! Mission Impossible movie are great! The true action cinema, and incredibly made movies! I always though that they are criminally underrated. Maybe it’s just me, but it seemed to me that Mission Impossible movies are looked down upon and treated as silly bombastic empty movies. True, at times they are silly, but there is so much more to MI! Anyways, I’m super hyped for next MI movie this year! Definite gonna rewatch them all prior to the premier ;) And now I’m going back to your retrospective! Thanks again for your amazing work! Edit after finishing whole video, I gotta ask, which one is your favorite!? For me, Ghost Protocol, Rouge Nation and Fallout are brilliant and when I’m in the mood for Mission Impossible I’m usually skipping first two, but my personal favorite gotta be Ghost Protocol
Damn it, this video made me regret not seeing these movies (well, MI:3 would have been the first one I could actually see since I was too young for the first two) in theaters - I'll definitely go check out all future movies. Paramount better not give you hassle about this video, because I bet a ton more people will show up in the theaters after seeing this very well done video. Good job!
A few things. This video is absolutely AMAZING. The detail, quality, editing, analytical breakdown and about 30 other points are pure art. I can without a doubt say this is one of the top 5 videos I've ever watched. No question. I do not understand why your channel doesn't have millions of subscribers. Keep making quality like this and your channel will be one of the heaviest hitters on the internet. The last year or two (Two being generous) movies have started feeling special again and getting away from that "I've seen this", or "Hollywood is dead" feeling over the last 10 years. With that said, regardless how you feel about him, Tom Cruise along with his team truly care about us as consumers of film/art. Since MI4 and the sequels (and Top Gun Maverick) it is undeniable that Cruise will do whatever it takes to make sure we feel the same magic as when we saw our first summer blockbuster. Compare these movies to the Jurassic World, Star wars (which aren't perfect and have some major flaws but aren't as bad as everyone says), hobbit and other sequels you really feel like these movies are made for our experience and not for profit. Lastly and this has nothing to do with the video just a comment on the start, I don't get why people have such a problem with him being a Scientologist. Don't saying you need to like it, but who cares. Between what I've heard about that, Mormons , Christianity and all other religions they are are ridiculous. Scientology isn't any less believable than a 80% of the Bible. 😂
I have an interesting history with this franchise. I saw the first one around 2008 when I was 12, and I didn’t like it (except for the iconic scene with Cruise hanging in the room). Never saw MI2 or MI3, but when Ghost Protocol came out, my friends convinced me to see it. I loved it so much! I saw Rogue Nation and loved it also, but I saw Fallout and didn’t like it. I realized this was because being sick with a cold+ Long movie+ Serious tone= Not a good time for me. Thankfully I rewatched it later and loved it. Despite loving 4, 5, and 6, I still haven’t revisited the first one or seen 2 and 3. Don’t worry, with the series coming to a close in 2024, I promise everyone who reads this I will have watched them by then.
The introduction of Elsa has to be the greatest decision of all time. Rogue Nation and Fallout gave me the highest emotional response and release of tension I've ever experienced watching a movie. and I was never disappointed with the ending. unfortunately they could have stopped there, and the thing I fear most is that Dead Reckoning will ruin this picture perfect ending in fallout I remember seeing the first Mi as a child, #2 was meh. #3 was not the greatest, but I feel that even though it was loosely tied to 4,5,&6 without the introduction of Julia we wouldnt have that huge release of tension at the end of #4 & #6 nor would we have the intrigue and awesome feeling you get when Elsa is introduced in #5. It all works together wonderfully and I am so glad to see Christopher McQuarrie back. Its fun to see in real life such a great working relationship between him and Tom and the rest of the cast unifying the story and sealing the last Mi movies as the best of the franchise. Mission Impossible will surely end on a high note which seems to be very rare in hollywood
Mission Impossible 2 just doesn't feel like a Mission Impossible movie, it feels like a John Woo movie! And if I watch it without thinking it's connected to any of the other movies, it's pretty fun. It's a guilty pleasure for me. Apparently, there's a 3 hour cut out there somewhere, I'd kill to see that! And as you mentioned Mission Impossible 2 changed the course of history in a lot of ways when it comes to media, whether recasting or the Napster lawsuit it is wild! Thank you so much for this video! I loved it, your channel is great. People often tell me "you deserve more subscribers" but truly YOU deserve more subscribers.
As somebody who considers JJ Abrams to be a terrible filmmaker who gets worse with every movie he makes, it is really scary to think that he got his start with this franchise, and eventually became a franchise killer
Honestly I think it’s official. I’ve always loved Chris Nolan but I think the second best director/writer of my generation is Chris McQ McQuarrie. That dude just kills it. I thought he only did great cause of Cruise but he’s the reason Mission Impossible started getting great. But then McQ killed it on Top Gun 2. I really think he’s becoming a great creator and I can’t wait to see what he does after all the Impossible films
I love your retrospectives! I just spent the past 4 days watching the Transformers, Star Wars, Halo and Marvel ones back to back, and they were stellar! Subscribed!
what wtf it was absolutely trash almost no action, terrible plot this was begining of a downfall after fourth came out until 2022. now its finally back after 13 years with much action and interessting story. and not another lazy boring repetive and generic plot. MI fallout had same plot another bomb. i wish JJ abrams did the screenplay and directed it. fans could come up with much better stories then that garbage.
Thank you for making this video! So much detail that was put into this video, made it that much more amazing! Completely agree with the fact that every single installment of mission impossible keeps getting better and better! I just watched number seven and I cannot wait for part two!
I'm not even done watching yet but I just had to stop and say thank you for making such a fantastic video. You've studied your subject with passion and to superb detail. Would you ever consider a Terminator or Batman franchise retrospective?
Awesome content as always sir!!! The Nolan Batman movies could make a really good retrospective too! (I’d say all the Batman’s but that’d be an 8 hour event). I wish you success sir
Julia's husband in MI6 is an apostle. That's why they were there giving healthcare. Hopefully we see some old cast comebacks. Also, MI saga has something that nowadays is missed by me, happy endings. You can make the best movie ever, but without a satisfactory ending, all is lost. And Tom likes happy and satisfactory endings. Hopefully Ethan can have a happy peaceful time with Ilsa, at least a short one. Edit: hopefully they can connect Devian to the Apostles, as the Bond franchise did in the last Craig's movie
13:20 I must’ve seen this scene at least 100 times before I saw the actual movie. It was always in previews for other movies and montages. Can’t believe that was real, such an iconic cool looking stunt
The only reason that MI3 didn’t do well at the box office is cause MI2 was terrible. Not a lot of people were interested is seeing another Mission Impossible movie cause the second one was so bad. MI3 is the movie that put the franchise back on track and is responsible for the success of the last 3 movies.
This happens with a lot of movies. Harry Potter part 2 wasn't well received, which is why the third one is still lhas the worst box office numbers, despite being one of the best movies in the franchise.
Well Mission impossible 2 was the highest grossing movie of the year. The Audience loved it. I think Mission impossible 3 not earning as much as previous entry is due to some other reason.
Firstly, I'm a little drunk. These movies have, in my mind, far surpassed the enjoyment of bond films for me. I love the bond movies, especially the daniel craig stuff and I grew up on all the classics. GREAT video. These movies other than MI:2 have been so consistently well written IMO, and I'm glad somebody put out a vid essay on this stuff.
As a fan of the show, I hate that they made Jim Phelps the bad guy just for a lame twist. Just don't use the original crew if you are going to screw fans like that. The original show was an ensemble cast working together as a team. The mission impossible movies are Tom Cruise vanity projects where he's basically the whole team. It was until Simon Pegg being added did it start to feel like a team. But I swear every movie has the government turning against Ethan, a stupidly absurd heist, a mcguffin (lists, virus, nuke) and a completely forgettable plot that thinks it's far more clever than it actually is. I enjoyed them all except for the Phelps thing in 1. MI2 just looks silly today with all the trademark wooisms. But they're still fun action movies.
Excellent video. This franchise is probably my family’s favorite movie franchise and this video increases my already immense appreciation for Mission Impossible. It’s crazy that in the wake of Jason Bourne and Craig Bond, Mission Impossible is the one that clawed its way to the top with each new installment. Once again, excellent video.
Really liked your video but its my suggestion do whatever you please but this your way calling Kanye Nazi this and Scientology that just skip over it, soyboy behavior and that only detracts from your great video and pushes your politics on people. anyways great content all and all.
I can't get enough of your work man. This are the only long videos I watch in one sitting without skipping a second. The only youtube videos worth my LIKE button. Please add for more franchises like LOTR

Kinda hoping it returns in the final instalment
His Hair alone in that movie should have won an Oscar
Tom Cruise is absolutely INCREDIBLE. Not just for these gorgeous, intricate stunts but for his discipline, worth ethic, and passion for filmmaking and the fans of movies. He is one of a kind and we are all so lucky to watch him on screen!
There is no question about how justified and right he was to (kindly) raise his voice…he was funding the project, paying for the crew who broke rules thus endangering the entire production and the rest of the folks on set. He had every right to lose his cool… which he still did so with absolute respect for the set and those around him. He’s the man ❤
This video is just as wonderful as the MI franchise itself. Didn't even notice the 2hrs pass by.
This truly deserves a million views or more
This is hands down one of the very best retrospectives I have ever seen… I was hooked from the beginning.. in fact, you had me more hooked and on the edge of my seat then most Netflix productions lately… well done… well done…
MI 3 is my personal favorite film of the franchise. The action and plot is honestly amazing for the franchise
Agreed, I LOVE the franchise but 3 is the one where I care about the emotional stakes as much as the pure excitement. It's perfect
Mi3 is badass. Like Goldfinger it's the movie that nailed what the franchise is.
I didn’t like 3. 2 was my favorite until 5
If you think 3 is better than 6, its time to get a brain scan. 😉
I don't especially enjoy the third movie, but that's the great thing about the M:I series: there's so much variety that every viewer can find one suited to their tastes. And that scene on the bridge is PERFECTION.
I'm so jealous of your work ethic

That was easily one of the absolute BEST videos I've ever seen. I'm a content creator and know all about the process of editing, writing dialogue etc. I can't even begin to imagine how long that took you to put together, but you should be EXTREMELY proud!! There are not enough superlatives to say. Congratulations on this.
Amazing, amazing, amazing video. Thank you so very much. 🙏
I can't even imagine how hard it would be for you to make these retrospective videos, I really appreciate it, please consider Fast and Furious movies as well for your retrospective, Love your videos
i second this!!!!!
^
One for the Bourne series, the John Wick series, and every actor who played 007.
I third this. Lol
Thank you 🙏🏼
mission: impossible is arguably (maybe even objectivly) the greatest action film saga there is. i got into it few months ago, and with Fallout, i - not hope - but *believe* dead reckoning will somehow - against all odds - _burn out the fuse_ with a bang! but while there's still a waiting period before release, your retrospective likely rekindled the exitement!
i like your enthusiastic but straightforward approach, and the helpful information of the trails and tribulations the filmskers had to go though with the production each film (phew); especially with how you presented each film topping the last: it feel impossible that the next installment can outpreform the last, but then throwing our assumtions out the window, every time.
and i appericiate how you translated that feeling into words, it kept it engaging.
the twist with the conclusion was clever. i was expecting a boring sponser segment, but it's really just giving credit and thanks to the source material.
thank you for the dreadful time it must've took to write, voice, and edit this - and you my friend for taking time to read! (i did ramble too long, and despite that i still wanted to add few more things)
good luck to your future endeavours, Prime!
or... you're future *missions,* _should you choose to accept them._ c;
this video is extremely entertaining and interesting, great work bro!
I was watching it until you reached M:I Fallout, then I paused to watch the movie and came back to finish it. Great video!
I rarely want to cry about anything but something about the interaction between Ethan, Elsa, and Julia gets me everytime.
so many movies fail to hit me in the feels
sometimes the acting sucks, or the dialogue is weak, or the whole story just isnt gripping enough
but Rouge Nation and Fallout are such gritty real masterpieces with excellent acting, dialogue, and storytelling it never falls to move me.
in every scene with Elsa and Ethan and Julia you can just see it in their faces and body language, hear it in their voices how real that connection they have is. You might think it was really real until you realized its just a movie
its such a great plot thread
Oh bravo sir 👏 I’ve been watching RUclips for years and this is the longest item I’ve ever watched without a break
Saw M:I 7 P1 and it blew me away. Stunning franchise.
Its impossible not to subscribe when the quality and level of passion of the video is so damn high.
Outstanding video. The sheer effort is incredible many thanks!
Yeah. Thanks to Ben Stillers writing of style. It was included :D
For some reason I steered clear of this franchise. You have wonderfully introduced me to what I was missing. Better late than never.
Hey man great voice great delivery
Loved the franchise and had a good lazy morning watching this
I never thought I would sit and watch a 2+ hour RUclips video, but here I am, having done it twice, well, almost since technically, the Star Wars one falls a little under 2 hours. You really have a knack for grabbing my attention and keeping it. Great job!
Being a Brit who understates everything, I just love the American phrase - “of all time!”
The first Pacific Rim was ridiculously good and ahead of its time. Its still an absolute banger and its 10 years old!
I love how the background music is from each corresponding film
My God! What an amazing video, so well put together, so easy to understand and follow, and so complete, thank you so much for it!!!! Your energy is quite unique.
Personal favorites MI3 and Fallout
46:45 this might be my favorite opening scene of the series. It's a great tension setter and the two of them are really going for it.
I'm only 20 minutes in, but I have to say another outstanding retrospective dude! I can't believe you don't have more subscribers.
May I suggest (and I'm sure I'm not the 1st) taking on the Tolkien saga?
Edit. Nowv that I've finished it...😄
you're gonna LOVE the tease at the end of this video.
@@ThePrimeTheater I had not reloaded the app when I edited my comment, then I see you already replied 🤣
Fantastic video! Imma make sure to see these movies now !
Overall a great film series. Ghost Protocol might be my favorite, followed by Fallout. Also to me MI:2 is a time capsule, it's very new millennium/mtv generation and I enjoy it as well.
M:I 2 is definitely a guilty pleasure for me. My favorite is Fallout. Saw that one 3x in theaters!
Hard to believe mi2 was well received back then. The music helped alot ofc
Thanks so much for a fantastic journey through the whole franchise... Great work!
I don't even like MI, but watching you do full on breakdowns is too good a watch to miss haha.
Fallout is not just the jewel of the franchise..but of action movies in general.
What an absolutely FANTASTIC video! Thank you for all your hard work! I cant imagine the amount of time this took, holy shit
Ghost protocol was my first Ethan Hunt Mission Impossible that I watch in the cinema, and not just that, I watched on imax
I can't believe i watched this entire 2 hr documentary without a second of boredom. This was excellent
There are very few 2 hour long YT videos worth seeing to the end. This was never boring and the pacing and presentation was very well done. Salute. You did the series and yourself justice.
I haven’t even watched the video yet but it’s already amazing 💯💯
Earned the sub, bro. Im extremely excited for the LotR Retrospective now!
This was incredibly well done! I especially liked your own humour thrown in, from the "known Nazi sympathiser" to the question of TC's immortality. Genuinely had me laughing out loud. Bravo sir.
I don’t understand the Nazi reference
Tom Cruise in pitch meeting for Mission Impossible series: "Ok hear me out. Imagine this. Die Hard..... but it gets better with each movie instead of worse".
I was just on your page last night looking forward to you dropping absolute heat. Seriously bro. The quality of your work is unmatched.
Definite gonna rewatch them all prior to the premier ;)
And now I’m going back to your retrospective!
woahhh, you work impressively fast
Well done! TY!
The fish tank scene and the wire down scene were both extremely iconic
Rogue Nation and Fallout gave me the highest emotional response and release of tension I've ever experienced watching a movie. and I was never disappointed with the ending. unfortunately they could have stopped there, and the thing I fear most is that Dead Reckoning will ruin this picture perfect ending in fallout
I remember seeing the first Mi as a child, #2 was meh.
Mission Impossible will surely end on a high note
which seems to be very rare in hollywood
Hate to be this person, but her name is Ilsa, right?
@@Nunyah-Arbys yes thats prolly right
@@DEVUNK88 It does sound like Elsa most of the time, though. Rouge Nation is definitely my personal favorite.
What a great video! I was already re-watching the Mission Impossible series to get ready for the next film. Great job!
Subscribed!
man i love ghost protocol, genuinely an S tier film if not an S+ tier film
what wtf it was absolutely trash almost no action, terrible plot this was begining of a downfall after fourth came out until 2022. now its finally back after 13 years with much action and interessting story. and not another lazy boring repetive and generic plot. MI fallout had same plot another bomb. i wish JJ abrams did the screenplay and directed it. fans could come up with much better stories then that garbage.
I just stumbled on to this channel and I am so glad that I did, because the quality of these retrospectives is just top notch! 💯👏👍😀
I hope this comments helps the algorithm...and you got yourself another subscriber. Thanks!
Awesome content as always sir!!! The Nolan Batman movies could make a really good retrospective too! (I’d say all the Batman’s but that’d be an 8 hour event). I wish you success sir
Great job!! I love this series and how you summarized the whole thing in an interesting way! Can't wait for the new MI coming out soon!
MI2 aged the best, aged like a fine wine. Making profiting out of a desease, timeless business idea!
What a ride. This video is probably the best thing recommended to me by RUclips in years. Thx for the effort, 2 hours well spent ! Def subbing.
Really liked your video but its my suggestion do whatever you please but this your way calling Kanye Nazi this and Scientology that just skip over it,
soyboy behavior and that only detracts from your great video and pushes your politics on people. anyways great content all and all.
I can't get enough of your work man. This are the only long videos I watch in one sitting without skipping a second. The only youtube videos worth my LIKE button. Please add for more franchises like LOTR
Dude. GREAT video!!!! Lot of hard work went into all this research! Impressive.
