I am a 60 year old priest. I have been aware of religious life since I was young. There are more than a few communities who never stopped wearing a habit. They may be a minority but they do exist. The Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia and the Carmelite Sisters of the Aged and Infirm are two examples.
Dear Father, I was born in 1962 and graduated from high school in 1981. I tried to find them but I was not able to. Perhaps I did not know how to find them and the ones I looked at were not traditional at all. I can tell you that growing up an army brat I never saw a nun in a habit. I did meet one or two but they wore ordinary clothes.
The Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia, the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist and The Sisters of Life are 3 communities who wear traditional habits and are amazing. The second two are newer communities but both are thriving. Young Catholics love tradition and many more women are discerning
I noticed the Sister and she was not pleased. Many nuns and Sisters left the convent after Vatican ll because they believed the church abandoned them. How sad!
It's sad. They became nuns to change the world but instead the world changed them. And now they have a vocation crisis except for the traditional convents.
Theres a word for all this batch of religious propaganda and habitual promotion...Its nunsense from start to finish. Or its retroreligion for the gullible girl. I dont want to see any more of it or them.
How sad. No wonder when I started looking for a traditional order of sisters, they were all gone.

They are still around. You just have to look harder.
Very sad indeed
That was a big mistake. Did you see the look on the face of the one nun in the audience? She looked like she was in shock, and not in a good way.

The slippery slope.
Most nuns today don't even wear anything so that they can even be recognized. So what's the point?
And we all know where this all led.

And they welcomed this!
these nuns became apostates ,thank God for archbishop lefebrve ,ngo tuc

Horrible to lose your habit

Nuns used to look beautiful, so sad.

This was not a good thing!
