I am honored to know these beautiful sisters. I was privileged to play the organ for the solemn profession of this community a few years ago. They are amazing witnesses to the tremendous power of God in the midst of a world filled with evil.
What does that mean? He is saying that by being locked up in that compound they miss out on truly redeeming experiences, like trolling RUclips video sites making snarky comments. Come on, those nuns are missing out on what makes life worth living!
Have you ever met a contemplative nun ( a Benedictine, a Carmelite, a Poor Clare...) personally? If not, I advise you to do so. These cloisterd houses do allow visits. These Sisters (or, indeed, Brothers - Benedictine, Carhusian etc.) do not hide from the world. Those who enter the convent (or monastery) in order to flee the world find it impossible to bear and do not last long in there. And the reality of human experience is the same, whether you live it within the noisy environs of, say, downtown NYC, or a serene calm of a Benedictine Abbey. They carry all of us and all of this world's problems to God in prayer, something many of us do very poorly and infrequently. Instead of being snarky about things we only half understand we should pray ever more fervently: O Lord, grant us priests! O Lord, grant us holy priests! O Lord, grant us many holy priests! O Lord, grant us many holy religious vocations!

I grew up in the company of Sisters and served them as an assistant in CCD classes. The joy ALL Sisters feel is palpable and fills them and those who surround them. God bless you Sisters and please pray for our world.
I was sponsored by a benedictine sister - Sister Godeharda. She used to live in a convent full of old German nuns. Sister Godeharda was one of the younger and healthy ones. So, she took care of the sick and dying. I was privileged to visit the convent and helped Sister to walk the sick in the garden whenever I was free from school schedules. Benedictines do not eat much. So I ate all their food hahahaha. The Benedictines sisters sing like angels anywhere in the world. I love them sooo very much.
Beautiful voices used for the Glory of God. They are so happy, I totally understand that, they commune with God and in Him only, can we find true Peace and happiness. The world has nothing to offer. Thank you Sisters for your music from heaven and may God bless all of you.

Thank you sisters for your heavenly music. I have found how much I love Gregorian chants and Catholics choir songs. The sound of singing in churches truly sounds like being in heaven, and I listen to it every night before sleep and it washes my soul clean of all earthly sadness. Blessed Mother, agree. A Protestant friend once invited me to their congregational gathering but I feel something is missing. I only see a stage with their pastor reading a passage of the bible, a rock music band, and mass hysteria with all the shouting....I have nothing against my protestant friend because she does live a good Christian life but as a Roman Catholic I do miss what was in the Sunday Mass like the Holy Eucharist which is culmination point of the mass, the solemn prayer, the music. And, outside of the Holy Mass is praying the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Mother which reminds us to be always mindful of our spiritual life and to always pray and follow Jesus Christ.

Loved when the Interviewer mentioned to the Sister , about others thinking “poor Sisters, they are missing out”. In my humble “maybe” wrong opinion , we are the ones who are “missing out”. We get too busy leaving God out of our lives on a daily basis more than not . For myself I try not too , but I do fail . I’m not speaking of daily prayer. I’m speaking of living with God 24 , 7. I’m so happy for our Catholic Nuns , that through their sacrifices made , then living in Faith , serving God , we too inherit a Blessing because of our Catholic Nuns . I do believe this. This reminds me of the 5th decade of the Joyful Mystery of the most Holy Rosary. Mary and Joseph find young Jesus in the Temple after he had been missing for 3 days. Jesus exclaimed, “Did you not know I must be in my Fathers house?” They found that difficult to understand. Like a lot of people in this world and commenters here who don’t understand why others follow the consecrated life. They comment and say these nuns are missing out! Yes they may be missing out on material things but they will truly gain the Kingdom of Heaven and be with our Father for Eternity. Please ponder in your hearts what you find difficult to understand and bring it to Jesus. He always knows the answer. Lastly, the Blessed Mother is a powerful intercessor between you and her dearly Beloved Son, Jesus. Pray the Rosary or Chaplet of Divine Mercy everyday and your life will start to change. A sister is belongs to an order that is out into the world, like in schools and hospitals. A nun lives a solitary life in a convent or monastery praying and doing God's work. There is a difference in their vocations.
Exactly, it's that huge difference between choosing something and having it forced upon oneself. Being forced to do something makes a person feel helpless and weak, choosing something (even choosing to endure something) gives a sense of control and can make someone feel powerful.

I admire them and their devotion. However, while intercessory prayer is important we must never devalue the salvific work of our Lord at Calvary. It, along with the Last Supper, is the basis for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Read the Epistles of St. Paul. Read the Catechism. That's not a Protestant view that's a universal Christian belief obligatory upon RC as well.
When you worship Him, all is beauty. That simple. God bless these women, these brides of Christ. I am so thankful for their prayers for the rest of us. Praise be to God.
