Orders that wear the habit and focus on holiness are thriving. We don’t need more activists. Look at the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. They are bursting with vocations.
Removing your habits was a big mistake..Being removed from Catholic schools was wrong..Once the all the nuns left ..all processions to Mother Mary the mother of Jesus Christ stopped ..all of our processions in our parish church ⛪ disappeared.. Catholicism stopped celebrating Jesus. Stopped honoring Mary. Mass went from one hour masses to 30 mins

Instead of focusing on the perennial truths of the faith it sought the counsel of the spirit of the times. The result is.clear to see. Extinction. Because the times are by definition, transitory while the perennial is by definition, everlasting.
So many nuns and sisters do not wear the habit anymore so when they go out in public people do not know they are nuns or sisters they are dressing just like everyone else. and I thought nun and sister were not of this world.
As a young woman discerning the religious life for myself, I will have to agree with every single comment under this video and say it’s mainly the lack of habit which lead to this. Other young women today in this position,myself included look for something radical as a way to give ourselves to Jesus and the habit is a huge plus in this day and age where it’s a huge crisis of radical modesty and simplicity. Giving my life to Jesus while also still worrying about what to wear and having a full closet is a huge no plus I want to be visibly His bride. Seeing an order full of regular grannies with a necklace as their main visible sign of consecration is I’m sure not very alluring for any other millenial/gen z. We want to completely shed ourselves of the world until there is only Jesus left and not keep participating in it.I’m sure these lovely women’s order would do much better if they went back to their old ways and made their order more appealing in that sense for the modern youth who actually believe it or not seek the old ways.
Donot close this charity that has served humanity. Import nuns from Africa to take over your work. Another alternative us ti allow married nun in the Church.

I really admire these women because they have lasted. I'm a vocation director for a religious order and when an applicant immediately asks, "When do I get to wear the habit?" It's a huge red flag. It's a sign of a superficial vocation that doesn't last. They probably should have kept the habit but people need to know that there's a LOT more to religious life than externals such as a habit. Again, I admire these sisters.

They still can't admit they committed suicide by abandoning the habit, their convents and their vocation as educators....the mission gien them in their Constitutions by their foundress. Its a terrible thing to lose these Religious.They were responsible for creating the largest educational system in the United States
